  1. Zavala is 21 with <80 ABs in AA, no reason at all to rush him.
  2. 0 to tie, 1 to win
  3. 2.1 IP 0 ER for Sandlin. He was a bit wild (4 BB and 3 WPs) but also topping out at 100+
  4. Murray and Acuna have 2 of the 3 highest EVs in this game so far, and two of only 5 BIP in this game with an xBA over .500. Both were outs.
  5. Recent pen usage: TUE WED THU FRI SAT Taylor 0 0 26 0 9 Dominguez 0 0 12 18 0 Leasure 0 0 0 14 30 Hicks 0 12 0 0 19 Hudson 0 32 0 17 0 Newcomb 0 44 0 4 0 Davis 0 0 0 0 14 Bido 53 0 0 0 8 In case you're wondering who's fresh today. Hudson of course already went.
  6. David Sandlin with another rehab start in WS
  7. Well in theory it could also block you from touching the bag while you get tagged somewhere else. And if the umps think you're intentionally trying to block the tag with your helmet, it would be an out for interference.
  8. Helmet has to be in contact with the player to count as a tag.
  9. Efficient 5 scoreless from Max Banks on 61 pitches. 23 K to 4 BB in 20 innings so far on the season
  10. 11 straight scoreless outings for Hudson. Griffin compensates for a lack of velo with a deep 7 pitch mix, and it’s been working so far this season. He has spent the past couple seasons in NPB so maybe Mune has some tips. Griffin certainly had a pretty accurate scouting report on Mune: Griffin has allowed 0 runs in the 1st inning through 5 starts so far, and just 10 runs total through 26.2 IP (3.38 ERA). But he’s got a 5.40 ERA after the 3rd inning, and allows a 1.000+ OPS third time through. Gives up a lot of slug on the cutter/curve/4seam, and has allowed at least 1 HR in every start except for a night game in MIL with the roof closed.
  11. There's also a bit of a Sox/Cubs dynamic with the Yakult Swallows and the Yomiuri Giants, including the Swallows stadium being the more southern one in Tokyo
  12. I read that as them just emphasizing live game reps for all parts of the game considering the missed time, not actually saying he needs a full spring training. He's been doing catching and batting practice for a few weeks now. No point sending him Monday if he wasn't ready to play most of the games in Charlotte's road series to get those reps, but I wouldn't expect the rehab stint itself to be especially long once he goes.
  13. What an unfortunate name for the van company lol
  14. You can also do annual signing bonuses, which is how most of Vlad Jr's deal is paid. Probably mostly to minimize his personal tax hit though.
  15. Very encouraging from Oppor
  16. Pretty ugly game for both offenses, the 6 extra walks for the Nats were basically the difference. Still a chance at the series tomorrow, though Nats will have a decent lefty going. Hopefully the shadows are a bit kinder to the lineup at least, some really underwhelming ABs today.
  17. WS rained out, they'll play 2 tomorrow
  18. Quero was off by a millimeter trying to prevent a walk that ended up scoring, Meidroth's challenge was far worse.
