  1. 10 hits and the 2 runs were scored on sacrifices. Quero has improved this team tremendously, time to replace Vaughn with Elko. there are some decent players in the lineup but there are too many complete non-factors. did anyone expect that last palacios at bat to go any different? Duran is showing his whole mix to every other hitter he faces, he gets back on track throwing Josh 3 fastballs down the middle. Why is Maton leading off? he would've been 0-5 if Buxton wasn't saving his defense for the 9th inning.
  2. I can see the Sox converting one of these catchers into a first baseman to be sure. That movie was funny because they make it seem like the path to victory is through taking a walk...only the A's had the best rotation in baseball, I don't think they even mentioned pitching in that movie. how about moneyball except it's about giving good players lots of "money" to hit the "ball".
  3. Are Benintendi and Thaiss more valuable trade assets than Robert? Imagine Benintendi continues to play like this for the rest of the season, he stays healthy and produces 4 WAR and only has two years left on his (still bad) contract. Some team might trade for him and the Sox might even retain some of the money. With Thaiss, guess who the 16-6 San Diego Padres have trotted out at the catcher position for 13 of those games? Martin Maldonado. I can't believe it either? For whatever reason, the catcher position is, like, really bad around the league this season. Both Thaiss and Lee probably look appealing.
  4. shout out Chase going out and playing shortstop yesterday. sucks about Perez, he's off to a really nice start, they really need to think of a new term for "elbow inflammation" because "elbow inflammation" doesn't sound like that big of a deal but it's pretty much the death knell of a pitcher.

Sox are tied 2nd for youngest roster in MLB. Just DFA'd a 33-year-old and replaced him with a 22-year-old. Three 23-year-olds are almost certainly being called up. Seems like that they're doing just that, and if it was the reverse, the players would be "rushed".
  6. in case anyone was wondering, rather than trade for Dylan Cease or Garrett Crochet or re-sign Corbin Burnes, the Orioles just gave up 24 runs to the Reds. Charlie Morton's ERA "improves" to a blistering 12. higher is better, right?
  7. how did houck only give up the 2 runs? that guy is terrible.7 strikeouts. i think i can venture a guess.
  8. because Colson Montgomery. and like 3 other guys on the major league team that can play shortstop. don't need another option, just need 1 fewer. speaking of Colson, the guy is starting to hit the ball a little bit. the average is above .100 now.
  9. why is schriff constantly negging our girl brooke? nobody cares about your glass bottle, bro
  10. Holy cow, if those are supposed to be the marathon colors, they should’ve found a designer who wasn’t colorblind. The blue and yellow is actually a nice color scheme in that logo, the jersey looks nothing like it. Also they’re called the Red Sox, not the piss yellow sox, they really need to stop doing these city connect jerseys or whatever. It’s gonna be the Nashville Sox and they’ll still do the “south side” jersey and spell the two words wrong. edit: oh hey we lost in extras.
  11. really liked that at bat. he attacked a really tough pitch that would've been strike 3 looking to a lot of players. Crochet is so good at pitching. We should've just re-signed him, it wasn't even for that much money.
  12. they're terrible looking jerseys though. not only are they ugly, they have nothing to do with the Red Sox. It would be the sort of jersey I would wear to a Red Sox game if I wanted to insult Red Sox fans. watched a fun interview with one of those Mass pitchers on our team (I think it was Vasil, that guy is awesome), one of the things he was asked about was getting "comp" tickets for the Boston game. He was like "oh yeah, good point, there probably aren't enough of those tickets to go around" because like 10 guys on this team are from Massachusetts. Vasil (pretty sure it was him) said all his buddies already bought tickets, hope we see him in this series. Keep up the 0 ERA!
  13. they do this neon, drunken piss jersey in honor of the marathon? seems disrespectful
  14. oops. these guys are both called Shane, right? Never met a person named Shane but apparently it's a common name
  15. hate seeing crochet in a (ugly) sox jersey. doesn't help these are the worst red sox jerseys i ever seen.
  16. i turned this game on in the third inning and it's somehow not 10 to nothing. Crochet v Burke, right? Let's go, pitcher's duel!
  17. the fact that he was wearing Rockies gear is pretty memorable/humiliating for the team. don't they do equipment checks? I feel like the Sox would be the only team in the MLB to not do that.
  18. he's doing that because he likes money, not because he likes sports. if Bridgeport was gentrifying as rapidly as the West Loop is, that dumbass project would be a Sox-related one instead.
  19. lol that was today? oops. didn't realize the season was already finished.
  20. better just keep him at this point. he's not returning a good player. his contract isn't so bad, just keep him around in center field for the foreseeable future. you're probably not gonna find a better one.
  21. conspiracy theory: Brogofsky's shares got bought out and so his dumbass buddy no longer has a guaranteed job.
  22. saved by a web gem. sosa is this year's burger
  23. thought of a new nickname for Murfee. "Penn 11" because 11 is his ERA. edit: also Pen15.
  24. https://soxmachine.com/2025/02/lacking-the-funds-for-strikeout-stuff-white-sox-building-a-pitching-staff-around-weak-contact-and-weird-deliveries maybe this was a bad idea
