  1. It’s a bit strange that a guy with the career line below was once considered a burgeoning star player. .278/.308/.411/.718 I know the last two seasons have hurt his overall career numbers. Is there any way to see his career line right after the 2022 season?
  2. He’s usually optimistic until Jerry gives him a reason not to be, which unfortunately is often. Then he rightfully unloads on Jerry. I would say he’s one of the most fair and balanced posters on SoxTalk.
  3. The Guardians actually dumped a decent reliever to make room for Sewald. ”Guardians designated RHP Pedro Avila for assignment. Avila gets the boot from Cleveland’s 40-man roster to free up a spot for veteran high-leverage relief arm Paul Sewald. The 28-year-old righty was a revelation last year for the Guardians, posting a strong 3.25 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 73/30 K/BB ratio across 74 2/3 innings (50 appearances). He’s a virtual lock to be claimed off waivers in the coming days.”
  4. No love for Sosa because he was good for one month. The rest of the time he has played, he has been weak in the field and corkscrews himself into the ground at the plate trying to hit 500 foot dongs like Juan “Tasmanian Devil” Uribe. But this roster is a giant suckfest so Sosa should get every opportunity to play a lot of games.
  5. Neither is a difference of .076 in OPS. Busch also had 52 less plate appearances than Vaughn last season. Busch would have been the Sox #2 ranked player in WAR after Crochet last season and their highest ranked position player in WAR by far. After three seasons of bad performances, it’s pretty surprising that multiple posters in this thread said they would choose Vaughn over Busch, much less any other 1B. Vaughn is awful, and now he has strung together four straight seasons of bad performances.
  6. A remarkably close season? Ummm, no… Andrew Vaughn: .699 OPS / 0.2 bWAR Michael Busch: .775 OPS / 2.8 bWAR You weren’t even close. Your boy AV couldn’t even OPS above .700.
  7. I should have taken this bet. Vaughn still blows and Busch is definitely better.

  9. I’m guessing you don’t go around telling people that they should send their kids to therapy in person, just on the Internet. That’s how someone gets smacked upside the HEED.
  10. 41-121. Jerry is the one to blame.
  11. Imagine someone making snide comments about another poster’s children just because they have the strange obsession to defend Jerry and Getz, an awful MLB owner and GM, to the bitter end. I won’t even try to understand that sort of insanity.
  12. Yep, that’s my only guess. Scholtens is more of a long man and Getz knows this awful team will need him to throw a lot of innings in garbage time. 🤣
  13. You are already far ahead of many posters at the acceptance stage. Take your kids to the nearest ballpark and one-handed swing a few dingers. They can cheer for you over the Sox current collection of scrubs.
  14. That would make sense if Scholtens was any good to begin with, but he isn’t. Marinaccio is better.
  15. Agreed, seems like a questionable decision as Marinaccio has actually been a pretty good, albeit unknown reliever in his career. Scholtens was pretty bad last year and he wasn’t even that good in the minors. Another team will snatch Marinaccio up off waivers.
  16. They are saving this big announcement to impress the SoxFest attendees.
  17. Not enough to sign a star player unfortunately.
  18. 🤣 Sounds about right. Vaughn is the very definition of a true White Sox player and their associated failures.
  19. Nah, I’ll reserve my judgment until I see some form of success. We were all excited about the Keenan Allen trade last year.
  20. I’ll be excited when we actually see some success due to this move.
  21. Gavin Sheets. Getz is resigning him once his price comes down.
  22. I think the Kyle Tucker handling will tell the tale at the end of the season. Last chance for Ricketts to spend up.
  23. Some would say that perpetual rebuilds are worse than anything.
  24. Meanwhile, the Sox are down to a $65 million dollar payroll right now? The Sox are still worse. We are lower than the A’s now.
