  1. Google it if you are confused. If you are referring to the “terms” of the agreement for Jerry to eventually sell the team to Ishbia, they were in the press release at a high level at least.
  2. Jerry has a CPA and was an IRS/tax lawyer/attorney in his younger years. He definitely formulated the ultimate leech deal with Ishbia until his untimely demise.
  3. They are literally on pace for 103 losses so you were very close with 105, and Houser being gone could easily account for those extra 2 losses if not more.
  4. He must think the Rockies are eligible for the #1 pick lottery next year. They aren’t.
  5. Why are you just assuming Jerry will match this year’s payroll? He has been cutting it intentionally over the years with this second rebuild and he is also looking to sell the team by 2029. One vague comment by Getz doesn’t make me think they will truly spend in free agency.
  6. No one should decide that for you. But that’s why I get more enjoyment out of watching my kids play HS football, and soon my oldest son playing college football. These MLB players wouldn’t give any of us the time of day, so it’s funny to truly care that much about what they do until they actually bring a winner to Chicago.
  7. You’re right. Mead is on the Charlotte roster… https://www.milb.com/charlotte-knights/roster
  8. I didn’t see this. I assumed Mead would be on the team and starting at 1B immediately. The sunk cost of Rojas is what it is. Release him already. I hope Getz doesn’t think he can save a few bucks by some team claiming his worthless ass off waivers. Pretty sad…
  9. Exactly. Like I said, I’ll believe it when I see it. Or when Ishbia is officially the owner, not when he can kindly and prematurely pay toward Jerry’s expenses before he is even the owner. The scam deal Jerry worked with Ishbia tells the story itself. Other teams are straight up sold over an offseason. Jerry worked a deal to sell his team like a top defense attorney magically avoiding the death penalty for a serial killer client.
  10. Not angry at all. I enjoy watching my two boys play HS football more than this 100 loss team. Please make your posts more clear in the future because other posters were confused by your wording as well.
  11. Numerous over the years, and this is just position players that actually made the major league roster. And I’m sure I’m missing a few. Adam Eaton (the first time) Conor Gillaspie Brett Lawrie Adam Haseley Reese McGuire Rymer Liriano Charlie Tilson Moises Sierra Avisail Garcia
  12. Move this dude to full-time 1B and let him focus on hitting instead of his defense. We have nothing at 1B other than Elko, and Elko likely isn’t worth the plate appearances. At least the Sox don’t think so. And he’s got to be better than Noda. 🤣 https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/2022/3b/curtis-mead-678554
  13. I was once told by another poster that just because he was DFA’d and no other team claimed him, that doesn’t mean he has no value, it was just a roster crunch for the Sox and all other teams in the MLB…
  14. Huh? Hahn did this all the time. It just never worked out.
  15. Curious what the Cubs were offering and what Getz wanted, prospect-wise.
  16. So even after Kopech and Edman helped them win a World Series last year, they still have Edman’s 1.3 bWAR on this season matching Vargas’s 1.3 bWAR on this season, even if Kopech doesn’t do anything for them when he returns from his torn meniscus surgery. Edman can also play more positions than Vargas, so I still don’t see how the Dodgers could ever regret the trade, or wish they had Vargas over what they have right now. The Dodgers won the trade, the Sox came in second, and the Cardinals lost it.
  17. Remember how the Cease trade return was like getting two more prospects back because Steven Wilson was going to be flipped? Since he was acquired, he has been DFA’ed and hasn’t been traded at two trade deadlines. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  18. Mead is basically Vargas, but hopefully he can actually get near an .800 OPS with full-time at bats. I assume they will throw him at 1B and see what he can do. I was hoping Tauchman would be traded because he should have had value and we could see what Danger Will could do in RF for the rest of the season, but it seems like the Sox want Tauchman back as a cheap starting RF for next season.
  19. Not surprised. It would’ve made a ton of sense. Both @fathom and I thought the Cubs would be a top suitor for Houser.
  20. 34 games isn’t a 1/3 of a season. It’s 1/5. Also, Houser had 6 wins in 11 starts. Who is replacing him in the rotation that is going to maintain around a 2.00 ERA?
  21. He’s a small sample size guy. Houser is gone and we may soon see the rotting corpse of Thor in our rotation…
  22. Honestly, I thought the return was pretty good for Slater and Houser. I just think he should have managed to make more trades — Tauchman and perhaps Civale, Wilson, and Altavilla.
  23. He used to be one of the most positive posters on here. Years of believing and watching years of failure instead have changed him to more of a realist.
