  1. I wouldn’t mind hanging on to Fedde. Sox could conceivably have a strong rotation next year. Crochet, Fedde, Nastrini, Cannon, Thorpe, Shuster with Inciarte and Schulz waiting in the wings. Sox can still use a couple guys like Fedde and Clevinger to eat some innings with all those rookies. I think Fedde is a solid bet to deliver close to two hundred innings the next couple years
  2. Stiever is a crap comparison, but Lynch and Honeywell were as highly if not more highly rated than Thorpe
  3. Well yeah, but it’s also said that players producing a certain amount of war have a certain value
  4. If anything, he should have been worth like 7-10 million on a one year deal
  5. Yeah, but that Pham would get that much? He was still a little above average player last year, and still has legs
  6. I hate to make too much of three innings, but this guy looks like a dude
  7. After the game, he gave him a thumbs up. Wow, what a tale
  8. Flexen wasn’t part of the Bummer trade. Shuster was the only real get of the Bummer trade, plus the role of the dice on Soroka. Lopez, Shewmake and the other minor league pitcher were obviously just filler. Not sure what kind of return any one could reasonably expect for a reliever coming off a 7 ERA season, but if Shuster takes a rotation spot, to me that would be a won trade
  9. Colas’ arm is in the 99th percentile though
  10. It’s only the beginning of his third year. They probably want him to get another 150-200 plate appearances at AAA. Of course, I also thought they probably wanted to hang onto Rodriguez so who the hell knows what they’re thinking
  11. They’ve got to try, if they want to continue playing in the major leagues. These guys are basically at the bottom rung at this point.
  12. You’re telling me you’re half a pizza?!?
  13. They did? I thought they signed him as a complementary player, behind TA, Robert, Eloy, etc
  14. Not many replacement level players put up 32 career WAR. That’s more than Konerko. 17 WAR in five years with the Sox
  15. Yeah but it doesn’t really effect anything. So they are overpaying a player three million in a year when they are going to suck regardless, while operating well below a maximum budget. Whoop de doo. The main reason they brought him in was to coach Lee and work with the pitching staff anyway
  16. Upon further review, I guess that figure was from prior to Fedde signing. So they have 50 some million committed
  17. I’m not worried about four million for Maldonado when the Sox are operating way below their maximum payroll levels and only have something like 40-45 million committed next year. I honestly don’t get why anyone is concerned about that
  18. “Although he fought a courageous battle to the end, the friends and family that knew the ardent White Sox fan best, attest that he died of misery.”
  19. Except it was the holdover guys he was saddled with that are injured
