  1. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) Honestly though, you really learn little from Spring Training. Just look at the records of some of the teams. Spring Training, for the veterans at least, is all about working on specific things. I think some of us are a little more concerned than other fans because we've gotten to watch basically all of Spring Training. Are there things to be concerned about? Of course. But basically every other team is going through the same thing. I'll let the first month of the season go by until I can make a true assessment of this team. I'll admit though, I sure haven't liked what I've seen the past 4 games. I think starting out good is the key to success, season after season I have seen the sox start off not so good then coming up and coming back down. I think if they set the standards high from the beginning none of that "we'll get better" s*** and get the job done, they can do some damage. No season highs or downs just consistent is enough.
  2. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) here is the awful numbers for Jose Jose Contreras (L 0-2) 4.1 IP 7 Hits 9 Runs 6 Earned 5 BB's 4 K's 2 HBP's 1 WP Also Another horrible outing for Politte even the 4 outs he did record were Line Drives. IP H R ER BB SO ERA Cliff Politte 1.1 3 4 4 3 1 8.38 Anyone take out the t ball stand?
  3. Actually im a little scared. Our "solid" rotation is looking scary, and our defense is questionable. I am hoping for a midseason trade that will send Contreras some where else because I dont think he will ever be ok here. I am confident in our offense as they have put up good run production this spring. If our pitchers can give us some decent outings we can have a good season.
  4. Whenever you get a chance pm me I would like a new sig, I really need a new one. Also gonna go with my new name, i'll tell ya who I want on the sig. thanks.
  5. If Buehrle makes opening day, Garcia vs. Millwood gonna be a good one.
  6. QUOTE(chisox05 @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) Good Point. However, I've always felt that Lee is an ass and a punk simply from his outfield play especially last year. Did his outfield play improve-OH YES. But he became so full of himself and so lazy that it pissed me off. And nobody on this board agreed with me ,in fact people laughed at me for this. CARLOS IS A PUNK---Maggs is a great guy who has always been great to our organization except when he gave praise to the cubs... That statement is bs because Lee was always a great guy. The many times I went to the cell and cheered for him he would always acknowledge kindly. Not only that I remember a time me and my friends were cheering for Carlos after he had just struck out and he smiled to us and acting like he was rooting for himself. The time he was here was great. As for Maggs, I also loved Maggs, I have some nice stories about him too, they both played well on their time with the sox. All this crap everyone is saying about booing Maggs when he comes back is junk. He played his heart out for 7 years and your going to boo him? The White Sox have a big mouth too, u cant blame the whole controversy on maggs himself, both of the organization and maggs were exchanging words. They both needed to shut up, besides they are both in the background, no longer with this organization, good luck to both of them and byebye.
  7. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Great interview Stuart Scott on Bud Hot Seat. At first the interview started out about Balco and AJ beging asked to testify at Balco hearing in 03 AJ clearly stated that he was cleared of all wrong doing and said that if " Anyone who wants me to prove I am not on the juice just allow me take off my shirt that will clear it up very quickly". Then the conversation turned about the situation in SF and called a "Clubhouse Cancer" he named Tomko and Matt Herges as the people responsible and made another great quote " The way I figure it Herges and Tomko have already taken money out of my pocket what is another $100." AJ handled himself very well and made a few laughs along the way good for you AJ. Tom Isn't Herges a real good friend of PK's?
  8. I feel really bad for Koch, he is a great guy but just isn't gettin it done. He needs to go back to the NL atleast...
  9. QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) Im sorry. I respect Joe Borchard. It is not as if he is not trying. I think he may be the hardest worker in the organazation behind arow. I remember after arow had his dirt bike accident and was hitting .200 for the first part of 2003 a lot of people wanted him traded too. Whenever someone is doing bad people want to trade them, doesn't matter if it is Joe B or Arow. I remember when everyone wanted Buehrle gone because of his career low 14 wins. As soon as they start clicking everyone starts cheering for them again.
  10. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 06:01 PM) What ever happened to Sanders and Stewart, they were both on the roster in 2003 I believe. Stewart has yet to fully recover from that line drive shot he got in bmore. As for Sanders he started out the 03 season with the sox but was sent back down because of his mediocre performance and plus they needed someone to go down in order to bring up a fifth starter, if I remember correctly.
  11. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) Fields reaches 1st on an error by the 3rd baseman. OZUNA hits another double. He's a STUD! Fields scores! Brian Anderson hits a single up the middle. Ozuna scores! Sox 8-3! dont get too excited, seasons over, we cant score runs.
  12. The question I have is why would you change what hes doing if hes doing ok as it is with his current pitches? From what I've read, he has pretty much mastered his 3 pitches, I would rather him have 3 pitches he can throw at anytime than adding 2 more and being shaky on those.
  13. QUOTE(quade36 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) Hey who is up for trading Garland for some prospects at this point??? No...
  14. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) B-Mac has pitched 4 scoreless innings so far. Impressive!
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 07:38 AM) The little things. Harris has actually been doing what he should have been doing for years now. Iguchi has looked rough, including some bad defense thus far. This could be as simple as KW trying to wake up Tad, the sameway he sent a message to Shingo last year, by warning that people who thought they were guarenteed a spot on the team, were not. I thought that was directed towards Wunsch...?
  16. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) thornton beat h-f.
  17. QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Good luck Olivo! No doubt about it, I was really hit hard by Olivo's departure, I didn't know how much I liked him until he was gone. Even though Maggs was my fav player, even his departure didn't hurt me as much as Olivo's did. None of the bs that happened lightened Maggs departure to me, he gave us some great years in the south side. I was expecting to see Olivo for a long long time in the southside but AJ sure did help out the void. As far as Reed, I never saw him play but I know were missing out on some great play from him. He will be a good one. I remember this much, Olivo hit a homerun in his first and last at bat as a Chicago White Sox! His smile was great, I also wish him the best.
  18. I just don't see how can a team stocked with arms not win their division. They had 3 guys who can shut anyone out and Clement as their 4th is way better than most of the other 4th starters...
  19. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) It's been pretty hard for me to forget how much of an asswhipe he was in Minney. But things like this sure make it easier. He's our asswhipe now and I'm glad we have him. Besides, we needed a good asswhipe. LMAO
