  1. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 09:43 PM) I started out at 255 and now am down to 228 and I am 5'10... want to get down to 210 or so. P90X and changing my eating habits have helped a ton. By far the biggest factor. I don't think people realize how much weight you can lose in one calendar year by drinking mainly water instead of pop, beer/alcohol and other sugary drinks. It's ridiculous, I think the average American drinks close to 500 calories worth of liquid per day, that's a huge number you can save, especially when drinks are empty calories. Congrats!
  2. Saw Jabari Parker and Mike Shaw play yesterday in a game of Simeon vs. De La Salle. Shaw didn't shoot well, but is very athletic, great passer and a big dude. Parker I was amazed has a lot of baby fat on him still, kid is just huge though. Like he is gonna turn that to muscle and be a monster. Also, Simeon is just ridiculous. De La Salle has three front-court starters (Shaw, Foster, Henley) all at 6'7" or bigger and all are high D-1 players, and Simeon road them out of the gym.
  3. I am skeptical of the "true" scoring ability from any who played on the Warriors. 40 points is 40 points, however, but that offense is not like most NBA offenses because their system requires zero defense.
  4. At least we are 1.5 games still up. But man, that is a huge momentum killer. Epic loss.
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 05:33 PM) Kenny should grow a huge pair of balls and trade Konerko and Teahen at the deadline a good OF. Konerko? Arguably our best hitter all year. No thanks.

QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 12:20 AM) ^greasy, I don't really have a true training program. I joined a running team through Dick Pond's Athletics and I have been running with them a few times a week. There are people of every speed so there's always someone to run with. Tuesdays are speed workouts on the Benet Academy track, Thursdays are a four mile run through a neighborhood, Saturdays are long run. On top of that, I run on my own a lot and I swim a few days a week. Next year I plan on doing a half-Ironman so I will need to get a true training program. I ran the Sundowner 5k in Joliet last night in ~19:35. I am happy with the result although I never really felt comfortable in the race. It is definitely different running a race on a weeknight. I injured my foot two weeks back, so I started up swimming to keep me in shape while I was off running. Started back today and felt pretty good, running a five miler in 35 minutes. Trying to be back in shape so I can go sub-1:30 again in a half marathon on Aug. 1. Ironmans are so ridiculous. I would have to work my ass off swimming b/c I truly suck at it. Can't breath well, bad form and can't go more than a couple laps without needing a break. You Tri-guys are sick. PS How do you like the running group? I am curious to join one but not sure if there are any good ones around Evanston.
  7. Interesting news...Maybe the Hawks can get him back. http://www.torontosun.com/sports/hockey/20...6/14742746.html
  8. In all seriousness, BB is probably your best bet (or K/BB ratio). I am sure there is some advanced stat that will give you more precisely who is the most accurate. But if there is such a statistics, I would guess the two aforementioned stats would match very closely. Here are the top BB and K/BB ratio pitchers in baseball this year.
  9. I would just like to point out a while back, I was all over Brewer and wanting him on the Bulls.
  10. QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) So, how much space do the Bulls have left under the cap? From KC: The Bulls still possess roughly $7.8 million of salary-cap space to add big man depth and a backup point guard. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...ard-brewer.html
  11. We should trade for Ron Mahay mid-game. He always gets Thome out.
  12. Jeez. It would come down to Thome.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 10:31 PM) Does he say line him up? I always thought he said light him up... You are correct. Light him up.
  14. Three huge outs. Come on Bobby.
  15. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 07:23 PM) Looks like Redick (as expected) has been matched. http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/07/15/magic-t...fer-from-bulls/ Expect to see a Brewer signing by the end of the weekend. I am surprised that the Redick camp hasn't made a stink about this. Redick is going to be buried behind Carter/Richardson. I personally would have loved a SG combo of Redick/Brewer. Games where the SG on the other team is talented offensively, you start Brewer. If he is a scrub, you get Redick going. Very dissapointed about the Magic matching.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) GNC Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60, been taking it for 8 months now. It says 3 scoops per serving, but 60g of protein is overkill all at once and you'll blow throught it quick. So I usually have one shake with 1 scoop in the morning, and then same thing right after my workout. I really enjoy using this stuff and have seen pretty good gains, and still havent plateaued yet really. I just started using this stuff as well. 3 scroops is WAY too much for one serving, IMO. But I like the taste and it has very few metals as compared to other powders (which is really something to look out for).

So last Friday night, me and a few buddies went to a couple of bars in Lincoln Park. The first one was McGee's and for me, it really was not the type of bar I enjoy. Too F'in loud, too collegey even though that's my age range. I prefer a more laid back bar, which is the one across the street whose name I do not know. Anyone got some bar suggestions or just ones you like?

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 07:16 AM) The question is do we send down Lillibridge? The guy has looked like Roy Hobbs out there so far and it appears he's gotten much stronger and more confident...personally I don't even want to see Teahen back because I like the tank and lilly I really don't think Lillirbridge can go down, his speed and versatility to play anywhere on the field are too valuable. Add to the fact, he is hitting like a mad-man, no way he goes back. Gonna have to be Tank.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) I hope a nickname for Viciedo sticks some time soon because all of these attempts are just getting annoying. I thought the Cuban Tank was quite official?

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 11, 2010 -> 05:56 PM) I think Teahen can do pretty much anything Kotsay can do... Yeah, but he doesn't have a nicely trimmed, veteran-style beard. That alone keeps him on the roster in Ozzie's eyes. That beard = veteran experience = super valuable.
  21. maggsmaggs replied to Cali's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well here are the options: Lillibridge - great numbers thus far, great speed, can play many positions. Viciedo - great numbers, OK defense, lots of power, but not very versatile. Kotsay - bad numbers, can back-up first well, sucks anywhere else. Jones - bad numbers, lots of power, but plays CF where no one else can besides Rios. Jones clearly won't be going, Kotsay as well because he is a veteran, so really it comes down to Lilly and Tank (despite the fact that I would rather see Kotsay go, but that won't happen). Tank is playing great, but he really isn't a utility player like Lillibridge who really could play anywhere in a pinch and is very useful as a pinch runner. My guess is that they will drop Viciedo so he can continue to get consistent at-bats.
  22. I just think Neal Strom is someone I would dislike.
  23. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 06:33 PM) Korver v. Seabrook v. Sharp = Battle of United Center Handsome. Do it. Don't forget about Aaron Gray's ghost. I am sure it is lurking somewhere.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) Have a source or link? (Not that I don't believe you, it was expected that would happen). http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/smith_korver_100709.html I love Asik, based on what I have read. I think he will give us great depth off the bench. It will nice to have terrific depth in the front court. Now we just need that starting SG that can score a ton (Morrow please!!, but I would take Brewer). I love the Korver signing, but he is not a starter. No D whatsoever, at least Morrow can become a better defender with his length and athleticism.
