QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) Where is Manny to pinch hit? AJ will get an easy out against the lefty. I stand corrected. De AZA time.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) BTW, VMart has an OPS almost 550 points higher against LHP than RHP. FIRE OZZIE! This is the major problem of having a manager who doesn't care about statistics. While they are not always the end all be all, they tell you a hell of a lot.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) Really wish Buehrle was out of this game. Just have a bad feeling that he's bound to let Martinez get one up by the monster.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 08:56 PM) 5-3 Twins...unreal what their lineup can do with Morneau, Thome, Kubel, and Hudson out. Once again, I hate the f***ing no-talent Twins. At least tonight's line-up.

9/2 Games
QUOTE (CSF @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 08:08 PM) 6 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 1 BB, 9 K's for Rienzo. His peripherals are simple outstanding. But before I anoint a top prospect, he needs to perform at a more age-appropriate level. But he is very intriguing.

TV Announcer Duos
I love Frank, but he is horrible as a commentator. With Hawk and Stone, you get a perfect balance of homerism and mild objectivity. Perfect match of hitting and pitching philosophies. And perfect combination of loud and boisterous (when things go bad) crazy guy with the subdued and soft, sane guy.

Why the hell does the second game start at 10 p.m. (at least according to ESPN)? Heat?

Proof of what we already knew: White Sox cheapest in MLB Draft
http://ht.ly/2sy0z So the Sox at $12,772,300 have spent the least of out all MLB teams the last three years in the MLB Draft. Granted, the picks in the first round the last three years have been good, we are killing ourselves by not stocking the system with high-priced talent in the later rounds. Discuss.

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Aug 18, 2010 -> 09:58 AM) were you a cross country guy in college? i can tell you that I ran at one of the best programs in high school here in Illinois. The success at the high school level really started at the junior high level which was also quite successful. I ended up running (and quite poorly) at the D1 level in College. If you aren't familiar with cross country that much, I can share some insights on good things we did. PM Me if you want. Were you a Yorkie?

What Should Be The Next Course of Action For Your White Sox?
Our retaliation should be beating the living s*** out of them on the scoreboard nothing more, nothing less.

The semiannual whatcha taking this semester?
QUOTE (The Beast @ Aug 17, 2010 -> 10:35 AM) Kinesiology 149 Philosophy 208 - Philosophies of Life MGMT 332 - Organizational Theory/Behavior MGMT 325 - Leadership in Organizations MGMT 320 - Human Resource Management STBE 337 - Stats for Business/Econ After this semester, I will only have 2 semesters left of undergraduate work. I can't be more thrilled about that! I was the same way in college, but now out of undergrad, you realize how great of a time it was. Never again will you be free of responsibilities and so carefree.

Sox draft signings and reporting places
I for one would rather have a payroll $5 million lower each year, if it meant a draft budget of that much more. Sox are consistently one of the lowest spenders in the draft, and then we wonder why are system is brutal. There's your answer. If the Sox ever want to have consistent success, the money needs to be into the draft. It's actually embarrassing 1) how bad the Sox are at drafting and 2) how little resources they put into the draft.

Sox draft signings and reporting places
You build through the draft, that is the only way without a Yankees-sized payroll to be consistent winners. The Twins, Braves, Athletics and others have this figured out, the Sox, nope. WTF?

Coach Tex
QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) I received official word today that I will be coaching 7/8 grade Cross Country this year. I will also be coaching 7th grade girls soccer and probably 8th grade boys soccer. I am holding out hope for golf but the coach has done a nice job but is waffling if he wants to come back or not. Here is all you need to tell your kids: "Run faster!!" I coaches travel baseball in my hometown for three years. Made really good money for something I would have done for free. Loved teaching the kids baseball concepts. Had a blast every single moment except when we went to Cooperstown for a tournament when my friend (other coach) and I were in charge of them in the team dorms. All hell broke lose, they were so rambunctious, it was ridiculous. The team manager was supposed to stay with us, but took the high road to the hotel instead. These dorms are about 50 feet by 30 feet with one fan in the middle of summer. Still enjoyed the tournament even if we never got sleep and lost to some crazy-good California team.

Relax People
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 11:53 AM) We can't afford to be swept. So there is a must win in this series. That's my whole outlook on this thing. I think we are right to react strongly right now. If we get swept (which with the way we are playing and they are playing is not out of the question), we are done. You aren't going to make up six games in 5 weeks that often. We already did it once, so I think we used up that card. I just can't relax knowing how many games we have thrown away recently because of bullpen implosions.

Sox vs. Tigers 1:05 CT, CSN
Three games down likely going into our favorite place in the world for a three-game set when we are playing terrible baseball and they are playing amazing baseball. This should be a fun series.
