Films Thread
http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/buenavista/ebertandroeper/ I've been wasting a lot of time looking at old reviews. There are some great disagreements on there like Scilence of the Lambs, and Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy.

2007 Post ASB White Sox Catch-All Thread
I was looking for the post about Hawk at the Bolingbrook golf course talking about how Ozzie wants Oney to be the Sox's starting SS for next year. How has he done so far at Bristol? .122/.175/.144/.320 (yes, it was rounded up for him) Good lord that is f***ing pathetic. In 90 at-bats he struck out 23 times. In 32 games he has committed 11 errors. LOL

Broadway/Phillips Called up too
Make Terrero the 4th OF to face left handers and Owens as the 5th OF to pinch run. f*** Erstad, Podsednik and Gonzalez. This team needs a major shake up.

yeah it looks like 101 suddenly came up with the motive to win "most likely to be flamed" for 2007.

How about Abreu for LF next year?
Abreu also fills the hole which KW and Ozzie finally mentioned that needs to be addressed, OBP. Most importantly, he's won a gold glove

Lets revisit a trade that didn't happen
Why are we in such a hurry to re-sign an average pitcher who is already making $11 million a year? The Sox signed Javy because they want him here. Yes, I realize there is some irony in this post that will surely lead to another Javy flame war we people bashing his W-L record and others defending him with his "peripherals."

Lets revisit a trade that didn't happen
The Garland rumors of that trade came like a day after Garcia was traded. I'm hoping we move Garland this offseason once and for all.

How about Abreu for LF next year?
There's no way the Yankees are going to pick up his $16 million option, and at his age he shouldn't command a five year deal. I also recall him talking about willing to play for Guillen as well. Since the All-Star break: .319 .393 .555 .948 He has 22 stolen bases on the year, so that should attract him to Ozzie, plus he is a huge Sox killer so it'd be great to not face him any more. Would anyone else be willing to give Abreu a deal similar to what we gave Jermaine?

Cliff Lee sucks so bad

September 2 -- White Sox vs. Cleveland
Agreed completely. Could you imagine the reaction here at Soxtalk if there was a report of the Sox looking at a pitcher making $10+ million a year, a 5.00+ ERA, but he was coming off a good September?

September 2 -- White Sox vs. Cleveland
He's right. It's more likely he hits a weak grounder to the right hand side.

Sox aiming for Eckstein...
We should start a website posing as Cardinal fans demanding Walt to re-sign him for the reasons you mentioned.

Torii Hunter in CF for '08?
You mean like throwing the ball back at David Riske after he was hit by a pitch? I've never seen anyone do that before Hunter.

Sox aiming for Eckstein...
So how is Thome worthless for one year, but we should bring back Crede? Tracy is currently spending his second stint on the DL, and he's not getting better as his numbers have been dipping since 2005. His peak OBP is .359 as he is usually at .343. So your claim of him getting better is just a flat out lie. I'd much rather have Thome in a decline than Tracy in a decline. Even if Tracy was in some kind of early career peak, we would only have him for two years. How is it patello-femoral syndrome can be cured easily with a full offseason, yet a back strain can't? I understand Thome is older, but Tracy is might require surgery for a condition that normally does not require it? Tracy and Thome have both battled rib cage injuries as well this year.

WORST. NICKNAME. EVER. ..and it came from an obnoxious blowhard as well.- Sox aiming for Eckstein...
Uribe is much better than Eckstein defensively, and SS is a defensive position. Eckstein f***ing sucks and this club would be completely stupid to sign him as he will get a multiyear deal when one year is too long. I'd much rather sign Vizquel for one year around $2 million, but I still think that isn't that good of a move. ...and the idea of getting Tracy, who is more injury prone than Thome, hits LHP much worse than Thome (.413 OPS this year against them,) and doesn't mash RHP anywhere near as well as Thome, to help platoon DH with Crede (sucks offensively,) Fields (still a long way to go) to replace Thome is quite f***ing stupid.- embedding YouTube video
