First Mesa, now Hernandez. Indians designated RHP Roberto Hernandez for assignment. Hernandez, who was given a one-year, $3.5 million contract over the winter, had a 6.23 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in 26 innings for the Indians. He belongs in the National League and he'llprobably head back there now. Maybe the Indians will find someone willing to pick up half his salary. The Mets and Phillies qualify as a couple of possibilities. $3.5 million!!! How is it everyone here saw this coming yet the excutive of the year in 2005 didn't.
