Gambling question...
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's what I meant by "fees". It's called "juice." You'll only get even money if it says "even" next to the point spread. Usually it is between -105 and -120

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> santo=dorf: How the hell did you find this story?? This appears to be the first english site to find it, and you started the thread, so just curious. I decided to lower my baseball IQ and head over to the White Sox.com boards. It beats huffing nail polish remover.....but not by much.

Holy s***. I didn't even realize the error to BB ratio. I gotta do some research and see how many other gys have accomplished that The first guy to come to my mind was Shawn Dunston. 1986: 32/21 1987: 14/10 1988: 20/16 1990: 20/15 1995: 17/10 1996: 15/13 1997: 15/8 (!!!!!!!!!!!) Juan and his brother shot a navy officer while he was eating some chicken. I remember Juan on the big screen saying his favorite food was "Pollo con arroz."

A-Rod, what's the asking price
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Oct 14, 2006 -> 01:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I must have missed that last part. Did they say, was it before or after he molested them? After. The drama continued when Fox News labeled him as a Met in the graphic under his name.

Rock won't be back
IIRC, Steff said Rock was more focused on watching his son play, which is why he wasn't going to sign an extension with the Sox. That was way back in the offseason

A-Rod, what's the asking price
Learning how to draw walks at the major league level is anything but "Easy." Statheads love to point to ISoD at both the major league and minor league level to show how a player will always have the same amount of plate discipline. If Crede went to the Yanks to draw walks, he'd probably hit .240 or so and be run out of town.

No more online gambling?
Good Lord. Sportsbook is charging $30 for a withdrawl via a check through Fedex or an e-check. It used to be free. Congress can blow me. This is just going to put more money in the pockets of the mob and other illegal bookies.

A-Rod, what's the asking price
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 12, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, let's all fight about who came up with a deal that makes our team weaker. Only from a financial standpoint if we're talking about Crede + Sweaty Freddy.

No more online gambling?
My account at sportsbook.com has been disabled and the rep over the phone told me it had to do with the state I was living in passing a new law. Is this a state or national thing? Anybody else using other sites having problems? Is poker still ok? I don't bet that much, certainly not a significant percentage of my paycheck, but what is the point of this? People are just going to start betting with ILLEGAL bookies padding the pockets of the true criminals. Sounds like the war on drugs. Just checked my spam box

A-Rod, what's the asking price
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 12, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A-Rod isn't coming to the White Sox folks. Get over it. Boras and KW don't like each other. I also can't see Ozzie and A-Rod getting along. Borass doesn't get along with Reinsy more than anything, and $cott has zero control over where A-Rod may wind up.

It must be a coincidence that NSBB.com is having the EXACT same discussion on it.

Frank's Team vs. Maggs' Team
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 12, 2006 -> 07:43 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't know that you couldn't like both. I'll always like Frank; he'll always be my favorite player. However, I don't know why being in that club makes me a Thome hater!!!1!1!1!1! I'm not taking a shot at Frank Thomas fans (like myself.) I'm taking a shot at the clueless Thoms haters and their "He isn't clutch" or "can't hit LHP" excuses (how did Frank look against all of those RHP's?) You are not part of that group.

A-Rod, what's the asking price
Dave van Dyck has an article speculating A-rod to the Sox. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 10, 2006 -> 06:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So why exactly are we putting ARod at 3rd base now? First off, KW has pretty much given a vote of confidence to Uribe. Secondly, I imagine Crede would be part of the A-rod trade, and with the current 3B free agent market, I can't see the Sox willing to stick Fields at third and move Uribe just to get A-Rod at short. I would certainly welcome A-Rod here to play third.

Frank's Team vs. Maggs' Team
Hey Thome haters! How about your hero choking with the bases loaded and two outs in the 9th?

new weeknight start time
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 11, 2006 -> 11:24 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 7:05 may have been the reported time, but it was always 7:07. So is the first pitch thrown at 7:11 or 7:13 now?

Which was the better season?
I had a feeling someone would bring up the "Crede is getting better every year" argument. How do you figure? 2002:.285/.311/.515 2003:.261/.308/.433 85 point dip in OPS 2004:.239/.299/.418 24 point dip in OPS (109 since) 2005:.252/.303/.454 39 point increase (still 60 down from 2002) 2006:.283/.323/.506 72 point increase (up 12 since 2002) It looks like a parabola to me, but it could also be a cosine curve.
