  1. What's with all the Chad Tracy love? His numbers this year look similar to Crede's before 2006.
  2. QUOTE(rangercal @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> disagree, Frank has been scorching while the sox and thome have been struggling. Ummm, what? How exactly has Thome been struggling??? August: .329/.453/.586 September: .358/.410/.581 Thome's worst month was June when he went .264/.371/.514
  3. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere around here, and I don't know what happened to the threads with all the salaries, but JD's option for 2007 is now 6.5 million instead of 6. He got a 250K raise for winning the WS MVP (How did they know to put that clause in) and another 250K raise for getting 1000 PA's over the two years the contract was signed for.
  4. QUOTE(Mansoo @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Trade J.Thome + Uribe for A.Rod..A.Rod will be new our SS. and sign F.A Frank Thomas.... Personally I rather trade Garcia, Pods, Rogowski, Haeger and Uribe for Tejada and Bedard
  5. QUOTE(Wanne @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think it'd be halarious if the Tigers flop. Me personally...I hate ALL THINGS MINNESOTA....Twins and Viqueens. Plus...the Sox match up better with Detroit. For you guys pulling for Minnesota...I'd think again. with the matchup point you bring up, you are assuming we would play them in the ALCS. Right now I think we could take the Yankees using Garland, Contreras, Vazquez, and then a coin flip beween Buehrle and Garcia. I'm not sure how we match up with the second half A's, and I don't think our upcoming series with them will be much of an indicator because they really don't have too much to play for.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I should add, right now I'm pulling for another Twins win cause I think our best chance is both the Twins and Sox passing the Tigers in the division with both teams making the playoffs. I agree. At this point it would be hilarious to see Detroit fall flat on their faces and not be in. I'm sure the boys at Motownsports will be filled with crackpot shots at the City of Chicago.
  7. Son of a.... I just said to myself. "Watch Dustin try to blow this guy away and give up a homer"
  8. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 07:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Big Hurt is off to another good game in Oakland... 2 for 2 one of which landed in the seats. Who's he playing against considering the A's are in Tampa.
  9. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Aug 29, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll take a Line-Drive hitting Frank Thomas over a Swing-for-the-fences Thome anyday of the week. The only reason I was OK with the Thome deal, was because the SOX werent sure about Frank Thomas and his injury issues and understood they couldnt take that chance again. Now that it seems that he was misdiagnosed in the 1st place, it has made me quite angry What is with your negativity of Thome? Wasn't it Frank in 2003 during a pennant run, say something "right now, I'm just going to go out and hit home runs?" Frank with #34 tonight in Tampa
  10. For the people trying to rank where our system is, I would like to know how much time you personally have spent evaluating the other 29 MLB teams' farm system and how exactly you are rating each team. QUOTE(gosox41 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What's also worth mentioning is that of all the minor leaguers KW has traded, none have made it big or would even be considered good. YHoung has the best chance and it's early to tell with him. So give KW credit for getting a lot in return for not very good players, but on the flipside it makes one wonder waht they're doing wrong with their drafts. Bob How about we blame the OTHER team's farm system for that player who flopped??? Who cares what an old minor leaguer goes onto to do as long as the trade worked out fine for us? Jeez, Bob give it a rest already. KW won, he's not going anywhere. No big name minor leaguers in the farm system = we either traded them all away or our system sucks. Minor leaguer gets playing time in the MLB with another and does some things over a short period of time = We're stupid for trading him away Minor leaguer we traded away gets playing time in the MLB with another and flops = our fault because he was originally a product of our system (regardless of how much time he may have actually spent with the Sox.)
  11. Was pena brought in before or after McCarthy? I think Logan could've taken care of him.
  12. Just once i'd like to see Bmac get another spot start to give ALL of our starters an extra day of rest.
  13. There hasn't been one since 2004 with Randy Johnson's perfect game. Correct?
  14. [NUKE_CLEVELAND]How Ironic! [/NUKE_CLEVELAND]
  15. Now I know how the Twins fans felt. Thankfully Detroit has to play THIS KC team (no Elarton, Mays, Robinson in CF, the other Mark Teahan, and MEintkeciz) 7 more times.
  16. So KC is going to bring the fences in after pushing them back a few years ago??? f***ing dumbasses. I hate Kauffman stadium
  17. Esteban Loazia is not a model citizen. MY buddy was telling me about his 17 year old friend getting hit on by him when she was on vacation in Tampa. I wonder if she still receives text messages from him asking if she wants to go out to dinner with him.
  18. It could've been worse. Had he actually own a set of balls, he may have actually felt something.
  19. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Even Julian Tavarez has a better ERA than Vazquez. What a joke. Comparing a bullpen ERA, especially from a bullpen managed by Tito, to a starter's ERA is just f***ing stupid and pointless.
