QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 08:41 AM) He seems like a long shot, but you never know with Cooper. He doesn't have a right hand, so he pitches very similar to Jim Abbott. Abbott threw a no-hitter against the Yanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> IIRC he had something going on against the Sox too until Bo Jackson's 7th inning single

Did I get it?- Soxtalk's March to a Million
"I haven't been this excited in a long time, John."- Tejada News Part 3
QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) First of all when did he say "My rock solid source says the White Sox will have an announcement on Friday". He didn't, not to my knowledge. I believe that assumption is SoxTalk gang mentality connecting dots that don't necessarily connect. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, pieced it together from his one article. The only assumption I made was the White Sox making the announcement by Friday (hasn't happen yet by any team) and I made that assumption because the next line was about how the White Sox are trying to not be overshadowed by the Cubs or the Bears. That seems fairly logical. If the writer's intent was for it to be known that any team, not just the White Sox, would make an announcement concerning Tejada, then he paragraph was poorly structured. Did anyone else read it the exact same was as me? I'm not saying the guy is completely full of it and just throwing stuff at the wall, but where's the announcement?- Tejada News Part 3
QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 11:26 PM) To go a step further santo=dorf there are all kinds of things discussed at Schallers Pump on a Saturday nite, people who work with people and say things, my goodness, do you mean to tell me all those things are untrue? Or true? No, I think not. They are mostly rumors. They have some truth, and some level of opinion. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Come on Jim. How many of those people run their own rumor site? We don't know anything about this guy (which is one reason why people shouldn't jump on him,) but if this guy really has some kind of connections, he would've at least gotten at least one rumor correct no? It's one thing for someone to say "I've been hearing talk of Tejada possibly coming to the Sox," to "My rock-soild source says the White Sox will have an announcement on Friday." Throwing in Broadway's name kills his credibility he has (if any,) and how many people are still considering BMac a "prospect." From what I've have seen, this guy has no inside info, or he is very gullible by posting information from mysterious people over the internet. He has yet to break a trade before anyone else, and how is it he has a "rock-solid" source for the White Sox, yet he was way behind on the Vazquez and Thome trades?- Tejada News Part 3
The best of MLB trade rumors: If this guy isn't ripping stuff from national papers or posting pointless projections from some roto site, he's posting crap that hasn't happened even though he's very confident in the source.- MP3
QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) THANK YOU!!! Any other good sox songs besides Thunderstruck you recommend? If you couldnt tell, I just got an MP3 player and am loading it up <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Check my signature for some Sox mp3's.- Frank Thomas in Rotoworld
In other news from rotoworld, Big Ben(ch) Davis signed with the Yanks.- Prior for Abreu

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) Somebody in another thread, maybe this one, suggested that if we were able to land Tejada, that even if the pitching fell off, say Garland went back to his 04 form, that we could still repeat in 06. I totally disagree with that. If the pitching isn't as good or close to what it was last year in 06, it won't matter if we add Tejada. We won't be repeating. Ask Red Sox fans what a dominant offense with average pitching did for them in 2005. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Garland at his 04 form + McCarthy >2005 El Duque + 2005 Garland IMO- Tejada News Part 3
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:27 PM) And if it gets done? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Sox would be in trouble for violating the CBA and this idiot would be correct for the first time.- Tejada News Part 3
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) Although I believe Broadway has passed this deadline by now but I will ask anyway. What is the minimum amount of time you have to wait before being able to trade your draft pick? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. Would you people please stop going to that horses*** site? Has Barry Larkin signed with the Cubs yet? Have the Sox traded Buehrle to the Cards because we can't afford him? :rolly- Is 2006 the year the Sox pass the 100 mark?
109 wins because I said so. Juggs, have you been working on this since your last post?- The mets

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) mlbtraderumors.com is not a bulls*** site. He does in fact have legitimate sources. And all baseball teams go through tons of proposals and interest in players. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mlbtraderumors.com is the most laughable site on the net. I don't know which "rumor" was funnier; The Sox trading Buehrle to the Cardinals because JR can't afford him, or Barry Larkin coming out of retirement to play for the Cubs from a source that had Thanksgiving dinner with Larkin' brother.- New Tejada News: O's reportedly make a proposal...
QUOTE(fathom @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) That's the thing. Even though a lot of people seem to be against acquiring Tejada, I'm sure these are the same people who will be praising him when he's putting up 300-35-110 next season. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tejada has never hit 35 homers in a season.- good sox jokes
QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 02:49 AM) there aren't any sox jokes w/o the cubs being involved <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What about the one with Houston?- Sox Offseason Article
Thome had 30 RBI's and he also had Tommy John surgery for his elbow. You could mention how his trainer says he's in the best shape of his career which is why one could expect him to "produce" (be more specific. He's here to knock in runs and be an upgrade over Carl Everett.)- Official Blackhawks Thread
QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) Got to give it to Ruutu. He looked very good out there yesterday. He layed out this guy from Calgary and took him out of the game. That's what i liked. It will take him time to get going, but i'm glad to see him back. One of my favorite Hawk players. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The space bar is your friend. Hawks are losing 4-zip. LOL- 2006 Schedule
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) Don't you have anything else to do besides analyze every aspect of the White Sox organization??? But you get major props! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm surprised Juggs hasn't done it yet.- 2006 Prediction using Win Shares
QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) Because a pitcher can be average and get 20 wins (see: Andy Pettitte in 2003), or they can be great and get fewer than 15 wins (see: Roger Clemens in 2005). In other words, the win stat for pitchers is far too dependent on factors that the pitcher can't control. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I understand that, but my other question was "Did James really say that?" - Soxtalk's March to a Million
