QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) Had a conversation with a friend he thinks Ron Schueler is a way better GM than KW. Where I think Kenny is the better of the two... Who do you all think Not even close...Kenny. Schueler didn't have the guts to build a winner. Kenny has had some moves that didn't pay off, but he has the stones to make the big time moves that may put the club in line to win it all. A GM needs that. Hell there aren't many moves that he made that I wouldn't of made at the time. I'm not going to second guess, dont' believe in it. If your for a move at a time than I don't think your entitled to bash a guy for it. Now if you look at things, you'd like to take back two deals...the Kip Wells fiasco (I hated giving up Wells...always will, although last year he wasn't all that grand). That was one I hated from day one, but at least it doesn't look like Kip will win a cy young. Then there was the Billy Koch deal but considering Jerry Manuel had shown signs of giving up on Foulke and you had Keith whining about wanting to give starting a shot, it seemed like a good move, plus the Sox were getting a good kid in Cotts and they'd have control of Koch a little longer. The Koch move made total sense to me (boy was I wrong, lol).

Looks like it will be a few days. This is really ticking me off. I'm hoping to get a response back by tomorrow and than move it from there. As long as I can get it renewed (which I should assuming I can finally get a hold of the right people...they just give me the run around and its easy to do considering they are way the hell over in England) than it should just be a 24/48 thing...the key is getting to that point.

QUOTE(YASNY @ May 27, 2005 -> 12:01 AM) Somebody's got to take the blame. The offense. It was there fault. Ozzie made the right call and come on, no matter what he told him he didn't tell him to hang a pitcher. As far as McPherson, he struck out a lot in the series but I must say he was probably the best hitting Angel of the series. He hit the ball hard in a couple at bats the day before and than again today. He seems to be on the verge of finding it.

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) Funny thing is iguchi was under the damn tag. They showed the replay from a few different angles and he looked safe every time. Boo to the umps. He was safe. Pods was safe too. They blew two calls that night. I had such a good angle on the play at the plate and there was zero doubt in my mind (well as best as possible). The tag came in high and Guchi had his hand on the back part of the plate. It was an awful call, but that fantom Pods throwout was even worse.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) Yeah I don't like second guessing, and like Jack, I would have been mad if he pulled El Conde right there... But after Ozzie walked I said becareful this guy'll swing at anything... Don't throw him first pitch fastball (which I almost always want Conde to throw)... The blame for the loss doesn't fall on Contreras... We simply have to score more than 2 f***ing runs.. 2nd &3rd and no outs should be 1.5 runs. It was Contreras game to lose. He's been nothing but a tough luck pitcher and it continued today because he threw awesome. He pitched nearly as good as Buerhle did and better than Freddy did. He was just cruising making guys look nasty. There were three really hard hit balls the entire night, Cabrerra's double, that homer and Molina hit one pretty deep into center that was caught. Sox lost this one because they failed to execute with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs. In fact they failed like 3 times in those situations. Still it was a great game and this is the funnest time I've had at a basball series in a long time. It was just a well played series all around for the most part.

I'll do it when I get back. I just finished sending emails all over the place (no one has freaking phone numbers on the net). How some company in Europe is in charge of the domain I'll never know. Don't worry about Soxtalk...its fully in my control and won't be expiring till 2009 Now Its just getting FS back online.

FutureSox will be down for a few days or so it looks. f***ing registar never extended my domain name so now I'm jumping through hoops trying to get it activated. Pain in the freaking ass. I extended it by like 3 or 4 years last year, but it never went through cause the domain was locked and the old email addie it was under got deactivated or something.

Welcome back Josh. Seems like its been a while since I last saw ya. Hope all is well And Maury...post has been pinned

The White Sox will go for the series win (probably there first since 1994 or 1995 in Anaheim) on Thurdsay night. Jose Contreras (2-1, 3.23 ERA) vs John Lackey (4-2, 4.05 ERA). Lackey has long been a White Sox killer. Go Get em Chicago

I agree with Ozzie. If its August or September, thats another story...go with Brandon. But right now he should be starting and if Duque is back than Brandon should be AAA. I don't want him in the pen where he won't be stretched out enough if and when Duque goes back down again. Hopefully Brandon can have another good start against Texas, than head back down to the minors with a few more things for him to work on (that he learned from this stint in the majors). Even if he gets sent back down, we know he'll be back up again.

Ozzie it's not a sin for Marte to face a RH

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 25, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) I guess you missed the game Tuesday. Ya, he was dominate than. Of course I was thinking Ozzie you fool, just go with Hermy Marte is throwing the crap out of the ball right now and I love it. When Marte is on he's my favorite reliever in baseball to watch (next to Gagne). -
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ May 25, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) Gameday made it seem like those two fly balls to Rowand that ended the game were caught just in front of the wall. How far were they? They were hit hard. Angel fans all around were going nuts, than the season ticket holder behind us was looking at me standing up and clapping and I'd see him laugh (cause he knew I was right and it was staying in the park). They connected on them and Hermy was getting ahead of the count, but it was to centerfield which is going to be hard. Prides was the harder hit of the two. I saw him come up and was nervous, just figuring cause they showed his career stats against the Sox and it must be the only team he's ever done anything against. Like .322 in 22 games.

5/25 Game Thread @ LA Angels of Anaheim
Chisoxfn replied to Chisoxfn's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Woot 2 in a row. Man was Freddy dominate. IF it weren't for Dallas McPherson having two very good ab's against Freddy, I think he would of ended up going the distance. Also I thought Paulie had a good shot on the ball that Erstad ripped past him in the 8th inning for a double. It looked like a very similar play to earlier in the game where one was ripped at him and he turned the double play (still the ball was absolutely crushed and he had little time to react). Frederico...Paulie...Marte...Hermy...YES :cheers Now no matter what or how bad they lose tomorrow (unless someone gets hurt or something) I'm gonna be pleased with this series. A split in Anaheim is a victory in my book. And if they can pull another one tomorrow...even better. Can't wait, I'll be done with school and will actually get to watch some BP. -
Have you ever forgot your keys and locked yourself

Oh ya, been there done that. Usually I just look for an open window. -
QUOTE(danman31 @ May 25, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Well you didn't get it up for a while so I'm not going to sit around and wait till the draft to get it up. If you want your edited piece up and Jason doesn't get it up send it to heads or myself. Nah its my fault. He got it to me pretty much immediately. I just haven't been back at the office since than so I haven't had that version. Schools been about the only thing on my mind. So I must say thank you to the two of ya...for trying to make my grammar stink, just a little bit less Last final tomorrow

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 25, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) On average, how much sleep do you guys get per night or per 24 hour period depending on your schedules? 7 hr's probably. During finals week its more like 6 (simply because my tests are ass early). So tomorrow night I plan on sleeping like 10 hours. I love sleep.

QUOTE(BuehrleTheAce @ May 25, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Aaack, all my hard work down the drain! I'm so depressed... Its my fault. I've been swamped with finals and haven't been back to the computer I have that version on. Once I go back I'm going to swap them.

QUOTE(jamalmanburg @ May 25, 2005 -> 12:04 AM) I was at the game tonight too. Upper deck, behind home, first row. Surrounded by jackasses in red shirts. They heckled the crap out of Crazy Carl during his first at bat. As soon as he hit that ball I was on my feet screaming. He shut em up quick. 1.) some orange county meathead sitting behind me was talking about how US Cellular was such a crappy ballpark. Anyone at the game might have noticed that aside from the setup behind home and the fountain in center that shoots off after every batter, the cell and angels stadium are configured almost exactly the same. Nice work angels fans. 2.) los angeles angels my ass. I live in LA. It took me an hour and a half to get out to the park tonight. And that was in light traffic. Great victory tonight. Wish it could have been at our own crappy ballpark. We must of been pretty close. I was in section 420 about 6 rows up which is pretty much right behind home plate in the UD. There was a guy sitting in front of me with a Dick Allen jersey on. I figured he'd be a big time fan wearing that kind of jersey but he wasn't. Then there were 2 guys sitting a few seats down from me that were big time Sox fans and were pretty cool. I was surprised at how few Sox fans were there, although when Everett hit that homer you could hear a decent amount. Usually there are more of them at these games. I'll tell you one thing, you should be happy thats all it took to get there from LA, LOL.

QUOTE(credescrew24 @ May 24, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) hey where were u sitting at tonights game? a few sox fans were around me and i was just curious if u might be one of them....i was in right field in row N wearing a black thomas jersey....well get back to me! awsome game huh!!!!! I was in the upper deck behind home plate about 6-7 rows up. I'll be at tonights game sporiting my Buehrle jersey. And hell ya, that game was just a blast. I was nervous as hell in the bottom of the 9th but I was glad Ozzie stuck with Buehrle, he pitched freaking amazing.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 24, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) Idonno that Adam Miller dude in the tribes system could give him a run for his money.. But yeah Felix Hernandez is what you call a future cy young winner. Miller is really good too, but doesn't come even close to Hernandez, imo. I do recall talking to a couple of the media guys last year and both were left stunned after seeing Miller come in and kick the crap out of their respected affiliates. Miller can throw the heat thats for sure. Still I rate Hernandez in a class of his own.

Garcia (4-3, 3.56 ERA) VS Washburn ( 3-2, 3.54 ERA) Go get em Freddy....let the Sox become 2-0 with myself in attendance On a sidenote, this is my first game thread of the year.

QUOTE(JimH @ May 24, 2005 -> 06:27 PM) How about that at bat in the first inning ... talk about giving 100%, great approach and fouls off some tough pitches and then drills a HR. Everett is a professional, he just showed why. That whole at bat I was up swearing about how Everett would joke. One thing for sure, when I bash a player, they make sure they make me look wrong Crede with 2 outs the day after I give up on him (and they were missiles) and Everett had some nice at bats. I was shocked when he actually turned on Bartolo's fastball and it was a no doubter.
