Chow takes Titans job
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1987454 Fantastic hire. One thing that dissapointed me when the Bears got turner was that they didn't look to Chow. The other thing that pissed me off is that they didn't look at Hermencheider or whatever the hell the Titans dismissed OC's name was because he did a good job running the Titans offense, imo. If I recall the TItans OC took the Jets OC gig when Paul Hackett got ousted.

Bulls vs Mavs
QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 02:40 AM) Because both teams suck? I'd guess there is a shot that game gets nationally televised. Then again there are a ton of games on Sunday so who knows. I'm hoping that NBA league pass will pick up the Minny feed

Bulls vs Mavs
QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Just you. He needs to take the most shots per game if not curry. No more of this hinrich bulls***. He is not a shooting guard yet he thinks he is. He shoots a highers percentage than... iverson, bryant, mcgrady, allen, arenas, pierce, etc. Gordon is a hell of a shooter. As far as Hinrich goes I think you have to note that he takes some of the most difficult shots on the team, mainly because he's forced into them, especially when Gordon is out of the lineup and then Hinrich is the only shooter on the court. I have no doubt Hinrich is going to be a good shooter in this league. He already has great form and depsite hitting a bit of a wall the past 5 games or so, he's a good shooter, just needs to improve on his shot off the dribble as well as his float shot when he drives into the lane. I'm a huge Hinrich fan though so I may be biased but I like him because he plays the game right. Gordon plays the game good so far, but I want to see him improve on his passing as well as draw more fouls (he seems to be driving more as of late though). I also think as he grows he'll be able to drive and create easy shots for the big men as well or even Hinrich by kicking, but thats yet to come. Main thing Gordon needs to work on is his defense cause he's a major liability out there. I was going nuts late last game when Gordon was on Terry despite the fact the Bulls were up 8-10 late in the game and Terry kept scoring at will. Duhon is a superior defender and should be out there. I should also add that I think Duhon is gonna be a lot like Eric Snow and I think he'll turn into a decent spot up jumper as he progresses in the pro's. Already runs the offense well and is a superior defender, especially for a rookie. If you can't tell I'm a BIG BIG fan of defense because while offense can stray from game to game, defense is an energy thing and is one of those things that stays constant.

Kelvi Hernandez, outfielder
Nothing on him, I'll email around and see if I can find something but it may take a while cause it is the offseason. My guess is he goes by a different name.

Bulls vs Mavs
Awesome game. Hinrich really stepped it up in the 4th quarter, not only making some clutch shots but by playing some mega clutch defense. This was Luol Deng's best game, but he did have more then a few errant passes and I'd like to see that cut down. He took smart shots though and really stayed within himself. Chandler played strong, so did Gordon and of course Curry had a good 2nd half.

Bulls vs Mavs
Game is close at the half. Bulls had a 3 point lead late in the half and then fell behind by like 2 or 3. They have played well, even defensively, but as usual they have had some costly turnovers. There holding the Mavs to right around 40% shooting. Deng has been the teams best player tonight with Chandler and Gordon being close 2nd's. Josh Howard and Dirk are leading the Mavs. On a sidenote, I've decided the Mavericks have the NBA's hottest cheerleaders. They all got there hair in pig tails and oh man are they looking HOT.

Good news for our Aussie friends
LMAO, I was talking to an aussie at my schools baseball game the other day. Well wasn't really talking to him he just overheard our conversation when we were talking about s***ty beer and Fosters came up. I made a reference that Aussie's won't tell you its Australian beer and the guy said the stuff is actually made in Canada.

Anyone else change or think about changing careers
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 03:44 PM) That's part of the problem. I hate being slow at work. Plus the pay sucks, and there is no incentive for preformance. Actually with the bonus structure there is more incentive NOT to work. Are you in finance or accounting? I know kap's accounting, but I was thinking you were either finance or econ.

Campos strong in Mexico's clincher
Off the top of my head 32. Give or take a year. He also did something else but yes, he will be in spring training or at least thats what he's been saying. And Jim, I ripped this guy to shreds when I saw him pitch last year, it was horrific. But if in fact he's learned some new pitches I guess a chance can't hurt. Still, I think he's mainly just an innings guy and who knows, maybe some other team has some minor interest in him.

Battle of the Sexes Parking test.
For the SUV you just go into the handicap area and then reverse it. Makes it super easy.

Battle of the Sexes Parking test.
First time a whopping 139, but I didn't even attempt the 2nd one because I got caught up on the phone. 2nd time around I got a 256. The only one I royally suck at is the first one. I can't parallel park the damn thing cause I am having trouble controlling the engine.

Spring training info thread
Not sure where we'll be staying, but it will be in the Phoenix area, probably Tempe. We just drive out cause its only like a 4 and a half to 5 hour drive from where we live in California.

Were gonna be there the same time. I'm gonna go the 25th when my spring break officially starts. I can't wait.

Campos strong in Mexico's clincher
There was a big article on him. He pitched like 21 straight shutout innings or something and was a big ace. He's crediting it to him learning a split finger and adding it into his repetoire.

Booo, SF1, you got me all excited, just went and got the mail but my guess is it takes just a little longer to come out to the left coast, lol.

Best Superbowl Commercials
I think most of Cruise's movies are good. I really enjoyed collateral and minority report was rather cool. Same with Mission Impossible. I wouldn't call any of the flicks outstanding. Of course that one he did with Cameron Diaz was absolutely one of the worse pieces of crap I ever saw. Hell, Days of Thunder is a pretty good movie, imo and of course Top Gun. But personally I like Will Smith better, minus a couple movies (ie Wild Wild West) I enjoy pretty much everything he's done. I never did see Bagger Vance though and I didn't like the movie Ali, but I thought he did an oustanding acting job. I just thought the movie was boring.

When Maggs comes to the Cell
No doubt about it, I'd boo him.

Parting shots from Maggs
QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 06:55 AM) You're right.. it is. And look who started it? Kenny was nothing but nice to Maggs. Even at Soxfest pouring on the Magglio love. And this is the return on that..? Class... well.. I'll agree with the last 3 letters. I agree with Steff. There is no PR battle here. Kenny has constantly stayed out of the argument while Maggs continues to lash out against him. Maggs is a self serving piece of s***, end of story, imo. The Tigers are retarded for giving him this type of money, especially when someone like Beltre signed for less who at this stage (with Maggs coming over major surgery and Beltre coming off an MVP type season) there is no reason why Maggs should get more money. Not blaming Maggs for taking that contract, but I am blaming Maggs for this constant battle. He's not what I always thought he was over the past few years and the Sox have actually handled this quite well, imo.

Parting shots from Maggs
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) I'd say there's a better chance than none of that happening. Remember, those numbers are skewed from the days when Comerica was an insane pitchers park. Since then they have moved in the fences and I'd say it really doesn't have an advantage either way.

Bulls AT Heat
Ya, the defense is what has collapsed the past 10 days or so. Seems like after they first gave up 100 points that they have been giving it up constantly ever since. Damn WHORES.

Just think if this was the Sox philosphy
This was from today's tribune article where Maggs says Kenny was making the leg an issue or whatever. Anyway, just read that paragraph above, I was laughing my ass off at it. Could you imagine if the Sox offered someone like Carl Pavano a 1 year deal compared to what he got because playing for the Sox was just so much greater then playing for the Yankees and getting a heck of a lot more money and a long term deal. Gimme a freaking break...And can you imagine the press and media that would of been calling the Sox cheapskates for making that type of offer. My god, its good to see Hendry, who was once labeled a god, blowing things up on the Northside. Still there pitching will keep em in it, but as of now, they are going nowhere.

Napolean Dynamite
QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) it should have been a series of short films, but i thought it was hilarious... on the other hand i can't disagree with people who say it was terrible... it was certainly no life aquatic. Life Acquatic was great. When I first saw it, it was alright. Then the more I thought about the lines the more I would laugh. Can't wait till it comes out and I can rent it cause I think its gonna be one of those movies that keeps getting funnier too.
