QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 11:44 AM) I read an article about supposed leaks about the season finale where we will see Negan swing the bat at someone's head but we'll see it from the victim's point of view. And then we won't find out who was killed until the first episode of season 7. I don't know if I believe it, but you never know. I absolutely believe it. Smart.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 10:50 AM) I remember a few being dismissed. Can't believe 10 in total were dismissed. The show is really solid. Really enjoyed it. Sneak Peek Trailer from the Walking Dead Season finale (SPOILERS): https://youtu.be/L2IftZbXmxo Is the next episode the finale? I thought there was one more until the finale.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 09:27 AM) But his marital issues are a known commodity. No one cares about it anymore. I should point out, I'm not a fan of either of them, but I always had an opinion that while I disagreed with Ted, I at least could commend him for sticking to his core principles, etc. This would be a big game changer in that arena. What's next, Bernie is having an affair with Melania Trump?

I should point out, I had a little political type crush on Amanda Carpenter. My wife is always like, oh, I see why you have CNN on right now, haha.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/24133...on-Knee-Surgery Are you kidding me. Shut him down, this team blows. It is beyond doomed anyway. Let Butler rest or get his knee scoped if that is what is needed. How can a medical staff be so consistently wrong as this staff seems to be. Living in a market with two major organizations, I've never seen this type of issues with say the Lakers or Clippers.

Interesting how quickly people figured out who three of them are and given who the three are, I suppose it could be more valid or it could be a bunch of nonsense. I presume Donald would have no reason to drive something like this, given he's had his own marital issues. Given the high stature Ted holds himself to, this would be a pretty big blow to his "character" if true.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 06:52 AM) That final game against the Cavs, they definitely quit. Other than that, I don't see it Yeah, what you two say. This year, I'd agree that at least parts quit or there is a ton of "I". Interestingly enough, I feel as if Rose isn't getting enough credit for how efficient he's been offensively (at least as a scorer). His passing still needs to improve, but thus far, I'd actually call this a pretty productive season out of Rose (especially given where it started) and I'd have to feel like Rose would be feeling pretty good in the grand scheme of things (on a personal level). Also, if Bulls go another direction, I'd also argue Rose is absolutely moveable (especially given the increase in the cap) if the front office determined they wanted to move another direction.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 03:40 PM) Ya its a depressing time for a large sect of republicans. I also consider myself very socially liberal but we wont have a socially liberal republican candidate anytime soon because we can see what the GOP establishment does when they dont agree with a candidate. Unless there is some overhaul in campaign finance its likely to remain like this. Especially not when the south and heavy religious states tend to drive the early primaries and thus the early momentum. I realize my social liberal approach will probably not be the republican parties approach for another 10 or 15 years (as I have to think anyone that is young and eventually converts over to the republican party as they age would have similarly more liberal positions on social issues), but it really is time for a third party. It wasn't that long ago that I felt most of my values relatively aligned with the republican party (and than Bush Jr decided he wanted to go spend crazy).

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 03:35 PM) A part of me is very interested to see how ugly a Hillary vs Trump election would get. But then when you realize one of them is/will end up being the president its a lot less fun. Its pretty frustrating that these are the front runners to be president and that we dont have a better option. Honestly, a good third party candidate could legitimately win the white house in a general election (I think).

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) Also, Ted Cruz trying to be a martyr is cute. It was all fun and games when his super pac was posting a nude picture of Trumps wife. Stupid too...I can't stand Cruz either. Evidently I'm not a republican and given the most recent RAND poll, its becoming more evident that my values no longer are consistent with the party. That parties priorities are not fiscal policy anymore, they are backwards ass social issues and religious issues. Just as the democrats pander to certain demographics (unions, etc) the republicans have gone bat s*** pandering to other demographics (religious right). Here I am who, mr millenial, socially liberal, actually open to things like health care, etc (and no I'm not anti religion, but I don't see how gay marriages hurt anyone and how anyone could lose sleep because they had to "marry a gay" or "bake a cake for a gay"), but who is fiscally conservative. If one thing can come out of this process, maybe we'll truly end with a third party, which can at least get some candidates who fit into my group, otherwise I'm going to have a hard time voting and end up in a fully independent trench never getting any legislation that I think is meaningful done and we'll spend the next 30 years going through era's with obamacare type policies coming in and than era's where everything done during that wave is repealed only to go back in full swing. Hello...can people get over the high hump and bring back some common decency and work together on goals that overall align with this country that the majority of the people vote for, vs. making everything and anything partisan? Please...pretty please? I digress though, a vote for Trump is a vote for everything that would make America awful. Its a vote for going back to the "good ole days" and I say that as sarcastically as possible.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) I wasnt defending Trump, I actually said I cant stand him and wouldnt vote for him. I just dont think its right for the republicans to pick whatever candidate they want if the votes say otherwise. Oh my tangent on Trump wasn't me pointing out to you, but I've never been so vocal against a candidate in my life and I don't mind standing from the trees and saying it. I do agree with you that if you apply the logic that for Kasich to actually be in the race it means a lot of people would be pissed off, I still think most of those people ultimately vote for Clinton, unless Trump runs as an independent candidate. [Green]But seriously, I can't wait till Trump gets serious on attacking Hillary and posts pictures of her or talks about her yelling and anything else that has absolutely nothing to do with why she would / would not be a good candidate[/green]. It sickens me that so many people will tolerate actions that are completely deplorable and against everything that I stand for in terms of just treating people with respect (pretty basic principles and just a generally good moral code to live by). Is everyone just going to throw the good old fashion values and the principles of the golden rule out of the way or are there just so many pent up racists out there or people who are just going to look past these things for reasons I can't even fathom. Yes, I personally find it sickening that anyone would stand to vote for Trump. Sickening. Yes in 2016, we really should have a potential president who berates women and wants to send the women's right movement back to the stoneage. A person who treats no one with proper respect and a person who took advantage of every rule in the books to get what he wanted, etc. And I'm not even touching immigration issues, which I think are less black and white than how he's treated women, the media and other candidates thus far in his campaign.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 03:06 PM) If Kasich gets the nomination despite being in a distant third in delegates than there will likely be a lot of republicans staying home on election day. Unless Trump runs as an independent in which case Hillary will win in a landslide. I just dont see enough support for Kasich unless for some reason Bernies supporters all jumped on board to spite Hillary. I chose not to vote in the Illinois primary because I cant stand any of the republican candidates, but if the GOP establishment takes the nomination out of the hands of the primary voters Ill probably never vote for a republican again unless there are major changes in the party. That wasn't the theory behind these polls. Also, I find Trump a "disgusting" human being. Things like his tweet about Ted Cruz' wife are pathetic and take our country backwards not forwards. Is there anything about how he treats people that anyone would want to have there son or daughter exhibit? I certainly don't and during the last six months, I can't even fathom how many kids are watching Trump succeed treating people the way he has and thinking and succeeding from it and thinking, this is how I should do things. When the person running for president can't be someone your kids would look up to, they shouldn't be running for president, let alone be a front-runner. And yes, in my opinion, that statement also relates to Hillary but far less so than it relates to Trump. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/images-worth...-063350172.html

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 02:38 PM) Kasich and Cruz would be destroyed by Hillary, theyre getting destroyed by Trump ffs. Winning a primary is so different than winning an election. Kasich would crush Hillary and every poll out there shows it. In a general election, you win by the swing votes, you don't win because of your base votes, and the swing votes would handily go to Kasich. I don't know whether Cruz wins and I'm most certain that Trump loses or at least I hope he does cause I absolutely am convinced he's the most likely candidate to ruin or country.

article on Danks tipping pitches and mechanics.
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 07:13 AM) Danks never threw huge gas. Maybe 92 or 93 on occasion. Even during his heyday, he always was susceptible to the beyond horrid outings. I don't know if he truly was tipping pitches or this is just coincidence. Hopefully he can put up a decent year. He will still have some good games, and some when he looks like a Soxtalk poster on the mound. While he certainly is impacted by lower velocity, I do agree with all of your points. I think a big part of Danks is his mechanics are not overly clean and easily repeatable, hence why when he doesn't have it, he has a hard time getting it back and is more susceptible to those higher scoring games. When his mechanics are off, his command is off and everything is up. When you don't throw much velocity and you are up in the zone, you are going to get hammered. It was a nice sign that we saw a bounce back in velocity last year (as it does give a bit more margin for error) but the bigger thing is if he can clean up some of his mechanical issues as it should allow him to be more consistent (hopefully consistently solid).

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) Pace supposedly loves Wentz. He would take him at #11. He'll be gone though. This would shock some people but I think if Elliott is on the board, they'll probably take him depending on what else is there. I am not shocked at all. I think we go offense (QB / RB / OT), cb or trade down. I don't think we will like any of the pass rushers at the position (unless say a Buckner or Bosa fell and I don't see that happening) enough @ 11 (vs. other areas), plus with the depth on the line, you probably are better suited at that point waiting and selecting later.

2016 MLB catch all thread
QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 23, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) MLB is not a government job. They are required to stay in big cities and super-posh hotels and most have crazy hours and can't get out to eat places. One dinner meal in a downtown area can be $150+. Not really. Sure if they want to go to the fanciest steakhouse on the planet every day, but perdiem isn't supposed to cover those type of expenses. It is supposed to cover, relatively normal eating out. Basic breakfast, sandwich / salad, etc for lunch, and a sit down dinner with maybe a drink. Most companies per diems are like 35-50 bucks / day and yes, there is sometimes some flexibility when they travel to a bigger city, but nothing like $150 / day. That isn't to say when you travel, you might not have one nice dinner because you are hosting clients or celebrating a successful project. Baseball players probably get free spreads most everywhere they go so the per diem probably largely covers dinner as I presume they get free breakfast at the hotels as well as lunch at the stadium, etc.

I do hope Gasol goes. I think he's part of the culture problem, but man, everything about Hoiberg irks me, but I was a biased Thibs backer. As in, Thibs is one of my favorite coaches ever. I freaking loved Thibs. The note moving Gasol to Sacremento was such a joke. Boy would that pick look nice. At this point, I am in the camp of f*** it, miss the playoffs and let this truly be the disaster that hopefully forces real change. And I never thought I'd say that given I'm probably the biggest optimistic in this thread.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 08:59 AM) Thibs' refusal to hire an offensive assistant (which could be retaliation for Adams), but wasn't Ron Adams fired in response due to criticizing the FO? Also, Thibs messed up by having JVG go to war on national television. JR would have defended him otherwise. Thibs is way less to blame than Gar. Gar took things personal and created the mess. And in terms of Thibs not hiring an assistant, given personel, his offenses were far better than anyone gave him credit and his on-court performance gave every indication for him (not the front office) to be in charge of who he wanted to hire to be part of his staff (or not hire). I'm sure Thibs would have been more open to bringing someone in if the org hadn't tried to force his hand and at that point he decided he had to play strong back. Thibs wasn't innocent and he should have known better to leak to JVG...he should have worked with JR and maybe things could have worked out (as JR clearly had a lot of respect for him up until the end, where I don't quite know what Gar sold him, but clearly JR hates leaks and those leaks during the post-season were still right in the memory of JR, hence the comments when Thibs was let go). I'll be honest, I think the Bulls need to fire Hoiberg and Gar. I also know it will never happen. Maybe Gar goes but they won't be paying Thibs and Hoiberg that kind of money to not coach.

Makes Del Negro look good. I just don't think he puts in the time and its purely on perception cause it isn't like I'm in the building but I don't think he's discipline enough to drill the message in. Boy did the Bulls/Thibs f*** up royally when they couldn't figure out how to co-exist.

Sox like where Davidson is headed
I really liked the limited bit I saw of Davidson in person at spring training. Much more compact stroke. No idea if it will hold up, but it looked night and day from the Davidson I had seen over the past few years. I also should point out, he was clearly putting in work (spent a ton of time in the cages with one of the coaches and I wondered off and came back and he was still in the same spot while everyone else was long gone).
