  1. This years draft is supposed to be the deepest draft in years. They are saying guys going in the 2nd and 3rd round would typically be late 1st/supplemental 1st round picks and there will be guys getting drafted into the 6th/7th round that regularly throw 95+. Only thing that sucks is the Sox don't have a first round pick.
  2. While the Tom Kelly thing might be unrealistic. The firing our guys and holding them accountable is realistic and it should be done. I'd also ship Beckham to AAA (f*** his feelings, he can either fix his s*** there and come back up or be a bust) and get Viciedo more at bats. I'd consider moving Morel down as well and I'd use a very odd, horrificly defensive lineup with Viciedo at 3rd and Teahen getting AB's at 2nd (which he has played a bit in the bast). But I'd use Lillibridge and Vizquel a lot as defensive replacements. I wouldn't consider it a full-time move, rather just something to consider to spark some things up on the club. Another option would be to play Viciedo in LF and bench Pierre, but I'm not quite sure who would lead off.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 5, 2011 -> 10:48 AM) Have you officially given up? I know you're probably the biggest optimist on the board and it'd really say something if you truly expect them to be selling off parts by Memorial Day. I've given up. This team needs to make changes. Staying status Quo after years of consistent slow starts is bulls***. Given who we have leading the division we still have an opportunity at winning this thing, but they are gonna have to play perfect ball and hold people accountable. And yes, if I was running the team, I wouldn't just fire Walker. I'd fire Ozzie as well. Cooper would stay and I'm ok with Cora, etc. Than I'd give Tom Kelly a blank check to come in and run the Sox
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2011 -> 08:50 AM) If I got the chance to trade Phil Humber for Edwin Jackson, there would be exactly zero hesitation on my side. I don't think I would, but than again, if I were GM, I wouldn't have traded Huddy for him either. Mainly due to the financial matters. I like Humber and think there is a shot he could turn into a middle of the rotation starter on the cheap, whom we'd have control of for a few years, and those guys don't grow on trees and can be very valuable to a franchise.

    2011 TV Thread

    Great episode of Community!
  6. Balta, are you the all time leader in posts now?
  7. Whomever is first, I'll get it up
  8. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ May 5, 2011 -> 06:47 AM) Gibson had a good game yesterday, I dont know what stats he finished with but he made some pretty nice plays. Plus, he's just an awesome defender in my book.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 4, 2011 -> 09:24 AM) How much different would the perception of Williams been then? He'd probably have been labeled the Cubs next great prospect. It would be no different. He was a horrible prospect than and he's a horrible prospect now.
  10. QUOTE (Felix @ May 4, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) Horrible is very accurate for his game. You can say that some/most (depending on your outlook) of that is because of the ankle, which is certainly true, but it doesn't mean the game wasn't horrible. He was really, really bad. He was not real bad. Real bad is scoring 5 points on awful shooting with no assist, no rebounds, etc. Guy put up points, assists, and shot a decent enough percentage. He just took a lot of bad 3's and had some stupid TO's.
  11. QUOTE (Felix @ May 4, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) At this point, is it even defendable? He's a great player and he had a great season, but it's really laughable how bad his deep shot is. There is no excuse for him to shoot it as much as he does. Right now he needs to focus more on taking the open mid-range shot which he is most efficient. I will say this, this is the Bulls D that I'm talking about. Deng was phenomenal on Johnson and Atlanta is not going to shoot a high percentage if the Bulls keep this up, outside of if Atlanta just gets a little lucky. Keep it up Chicago!!!
  12. Rose also had some nice passes and all in all a more agressive game. He had some rough turnovers but I'll live with it. His ankle is seriously effecting his outside shot and everything is coming off flat. But he's a scorer and he'll shoot himself out of it and will continue to improve that 3 as he grows in this league. Noah to me has been the X-Factor. In the Bulls big wins, Noah has been a beast. Deng has been freaking money all post-season so far too. I really think I'd like to start/play Gibson a lot more and than get more set plays for Noah who is able to get better shots off than Boozer.
  13. Ok, so for the first time this post-season, I'm not relaxed about the Bulls. I'm bringing my playoff intensity as a fan and I hope the Bulls respond by bringing there playoff intensity for just the 2nd time this post-season.
  14. Wow, incredible. How is he holding up?
  15. QUOTE (Felix @ May 2, 2011 -> 05:17 PM) Deng is the only one interested in doing that so far Deng is about the only one whose consistently played each and every game of this post-season. He is so improved this year even though his PER indicates otherwise (yet another reason why PER isn't the end all be all). Wow, Hawks had all the breaks but at the same time, this is why I don't see how anyone was picking a sweep. Bulls have been the worse team on the court in all but one of there playoff games for the majority of the game. That is bad.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 1, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) I don't care what anybody says. The Heat scare the living s*** out of me. They've been dubbed as an underachiever yet they still won 58 games without Haslem and then Miller being crap all year. They have 3 of the absolute best players in the game. I still don't think we can beat them 4 times in 2 weeks. I've been saying it all post-season, they'll win this whole thing. I sure as hell hope I'm wrong.
  17. WTF, Pierce should have at least been T'd if not ejected for that. Bulls***.
  18. WTF, why the f*** are you bunting. We are losing by 5 runs. Don't give up an out.
  19. I am going: OKC in 5 (this was my original pick, prior to them losing today) Mavericks in 6 Bulls in 6 Heat in 6
  20. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 08:07 PM) You guys really think the Thunder will have that much trouble with Memphis? I just don't see it. I didn't either, but what the hell do I know. Memphis clocked em today. Albeit, ZBO and Gasol both played fantastic.
  21. I think it has been good, but you right, it hasn't been great by all means. But some of those ERA's are inflated by one real bad start. I still think the Sox figure it otu, but I don't think it will be until after they can Walker.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 1, 2011 -> 12:29 PM) Wait, was it horrendous? The White Sox are horrendous at baseball, lol. For this next post, I'll use a synonym of horrendous Atrocious defense...check Atrocious offense...check Atrocious bullpen...check The only thing we've been solid at is our strating pitching has been good. Outside of that, from a performance perspective, we've done everything else poorly. And while I'm not writing the season off, these consistent slow starts get pretty old and I'd like to think at some point someone takes a fall for them.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 1, 2011 -> 11:07 AM) Well, he put up an .877 OPS Post ASB last year. That's all-star caliber for an MI. He put up OPS's of over .900 in July and September of '09. Again, all star caliber for an MI. And unfortunately he's made horrendous mechanical adjustments to his swing and looks horrendous. And by horrendous, I'm talking about he looks like Brian Anderson at the plate right now. He is a guy who came up with a nice swing, made some changes, and than made even more changes this off-season and I don't even know who the hell this guy is at the plate now. It is just horrendous and I don't know if it was Beckham or Walker or what. But you know what, when you play like garbage for this long of a stretch in such a key year, you have to fire someone....Walker is that someone to me.
  24. Converted outside linebacker according to Mayock. And yes, ESPN completely skipped the pick.
  25. Ya, I"ve heard of him. He was a 1st team Pac 10 All American. Great college player. Was shooting up the boards the past couple weeks. Mike Mayock is absolutely raving about him. And Mayock is probably my favorite analyst.
