QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) When the bigger goal is more of the same mistakes, someone oughta get fired. In my company - if the CEO were to get elected, would that mean that everyone who stayed on the job would get to keep theirs regardless of what mistakes they made? If so, I wanna work there. In a sense, winodj, Bush just got a majority "shareholder" vote. At my company, the CEO is a prick. Yet he stays because the investor group trusts him. I personally think someone can do a better job then him, but he's the best we have right now. I liken Bush to the same thing. I don't like it, but it is reality as most (or at least more) people see it.

I hear what you're saying, but sometimes I just don't think people are sheeple as much as we think they are. But maybe I'm wrong.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) I completly agree. I really believe that the only reason he got reelected was because he scared the piss out of the CHristian right and they had to come out and vote for him because Bush had them convinced that if Kerry was elected the entire United States would go to hell. Uh huh. I see. Not that it matters who I voted for (I live in Texas so my vote REALLY didn't matter) but I was scared, peeing down my leg scared, if I didn't vote for GWB because of all the gays and liberals taking my Bible away. Good grief. What crap.
-
I gotta agree with you, Flaxx. I saw this statement, and I was instantly :fyou, GWB. He got re-elected not because of Iraq specifically, but for larger security reasons.

That'd look good in my living room.

What's the point? If there were ever a useless thread, this one's it. It's not even funny.

That's hysterical!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) More specifically anyone who was an 85C plate Thats ironic, as I was just talking about our trip to Whitewater yesterday. 4 hours to get up there, 6 1/2 to get home. Why anyone would ever live in that god forsaken lake effect belt is beyond me 4 hours up there... from basically Fort Wayne... that usually how long it takes to get to the Loop. LMAO. Why didn't we get pulled over on the way up again? I've gotten pulled over twice in two months down around the new house. f***ing local prick asshole cops. One I am getting dismissed through defensive driving and the other I'm doing deferred adjudication. $400 later, you better not speed in these little f*** podunk ass towns down here - and yes, even moreso then townies.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) Which goes to the big philosophical difference between US and many other world governments. We want our government to provide as little as possible to the people. We want to be able to make our own choices for as many things as we can. We don't want to be told what school to attend, what doctor to see, what organizations we will fund etc. Bureaucracy has exploded in the 20th century after the New Deal of the 30's/40's, and now we have an almost entire population who has no idea what it means to exsist without government assistance of one sort or another. Its a direct correlation of why we went from needing no income tax in the 18th and 19th century, to having a huge debt today. Many countries have a history of entitlement so that is how their government and societies are set up. They pay high taxes, and they expect to be handed everything. The US historically wasn't founded like that. One founding father envisioned the US as independant utopian farmers, with an extremely limited government. That is why the government leaves much of charity work up to the private sector. And by and large the private sector responds as US private citizens give more to charities and causes than the rest of the world combined. Now quit being so logical. Where's my social security check?

Southsider will remember this... it reminds me of when Manchester played up there and those bastards were sitting right outside of town looking to stop anyone that had an Indiana license plate. :fyou Wisconsin PD. Edit: that was the infamous night of driving down the Ryan honking the horn to that stupid song... And then the stupid ass snowstorm as soon as we hit the Indiana line on the way back... Ahhhh, memories...

They just hope their parents don't find out? And it's all over the news now. That's hysterical. Edit: Maybe I need to modify my sig now.

If Garland gets that 5th spot in the rotation, he's better then almost any other 5th starter and I still say that he can get 12+ wins out of that spot. If our #5 wins 12, and our #4 (Contrearas) wins 12-13, and our #3 wins about 13, that leaves Mark and Freddy in the 16+ category, that's a SOLID year... especially with the bullpen arms. This is a winnable division... and I'll tell you, Cleveland is more worrisome then Minnesota now, IMO. Let's see if I'm right about that one.

Word. Especially from Texas.

I sure as hell hope that he isn't back... not for that kind of money.

Naaah. Not his fault at all. I am shocked though at the amount of RAM this thing uses. All will be well tomorrow after the memory upgrade.

The upgrade to 2.0 is causing some pretty big problems. It WILL be fixed in the next 24 hours. Getting the hardware to fix it. Kap
