Hmm, so it's two against the A's and three against the Ms? I'm hoping for a split in Oakland and two out of three at Safeco. I think if this team is able to take three or four in these upcoming series', then we will finally be over the two humps that have plagued us in the past (Not being able to win at the Twinkydome and on the WestCoast).

If we make the playoffs and generate some nice revenue it COULD happen. Anyways, I'm skeptical of the sources that are saying Maggs was offered 14 million over five years and he rejected it, isn't that what he originally sought out to get? I love Maggs, but you shouldn't have to pay any more than what Vlad is getting in Anahiem IMO. Vlad is younger, has a cannon in right, awesome at the plate too. If Maggs really wants to be here, he would take the 12 million or there abouts contract that the Sox offered.

I thought it was Hudson or Zito. I think Mulder has a year and an option or two left on his contract, but I do not have numbers in front of me. Anyone know for sure?

I guess Zambrano hit Chris Wilson, Wilson got a little pissed off and said some things to Zambrano. Benches and bullpens cleared - no punches or anything, but these two teams don't like each other much.

Just turning in now, something happened with Zambrano and now the bullpens and benches have cleared, more to come.

I'd rather try and rid this team of Lee and Konerko, sign Mags, and put Reed in left. Then if Borchard can keep up his hitting, put him in center and we have a nice outfield. I like Randall Simon, maybe we can try to get him for us at first...

Jeckle what's with you? So he couldnt lay a bunt down, so what. He came up with a HUGE hit in what, that Tampa Bay game in which we came back to win. Lay off of the guy, he's not that talented but he came up here and did some good (Other then booting that ball in Baltimore.)

I love MVP but honestly, I've completely lost interest in the game already. Partly because of the fact that Im in love with OOTP6, and partly because - Well, I dont like the fact that there's a lefty glitch in the game, and I dont like the fact that the game is watered down after about 10 years because the prospects dont develop. Not like I'd play 10 years, but Sweeney, Anderson, and Reed in the system, that would be a nice OF.

So guys - I wanted you to know about a trade situation. The offer is Felix Diaz (Three blue stars, he's been solid for me thus far, four ERA) and Joe Crede (When he's hot, he is awesome. But when he slumps, he is downright terrible. Not a good OBP guy, but usually drives in some runs and hits homers) for Ben Sheets (3.5 Gold stars, would give me a shutdown righty in the rotation, as I traded Loaiza and some others for Mark Mulder.) I dont think Crede would be a big loss, I have Mark Bellhorn who is a very good OBP guy, as well as hits some homers and RBIs, and Ben Sheets is two years older than Diaz but probably better than Diaz will ever be. The only problem I see with it is that I'd then have to move Bellhorn from second to third, thus making Willie Harris a starter. But pitching wins in that game, so I think Im gonna do it, but I'd like some input.

It pisses me off that some of the media here still think Borowski is better than Koch, even though stats prove otherwise.

Just our luck - I read ABoz saying how Borch may have re-aggrevated that back injury of his. I mean come on, the guy is finally starting to crush the ball, and he gets injured. Joe-Bo just cannot catch a f***ing break...

Boz, can you explain to me why they do that, call a good portion of the pitchers up from AA directly to the majors? IIRC, Birmingham = Good pitchers park, and Charlotte = Good hitters park. IMO, it would be nice to get their confidence nice and high in that pitchers park, but then they should sort of test them at Charlotte. That's just what I think, but could you give me a little better insight?

Well - I know you don't like Rauch, but now is/was his time. He's 25 so he's not really a prospect anymore, he pitched well in a hitters park, he was a good option. Oh well, that didnt work. But I agree with your main point. We have to stop dicking around with this and actually go out and get a starter. Like I said, I like Glavine, Kipper, and Garcia.

But they're also in the what is supposed to be the 'cookie' part of the schedule including some series' with the D-Rays and the Not-Playing-So-Well-Until-We-Played-The-Twins Royals. We were supposed to stay afloat during this part and cruise once we got to the latter part of the season, but if the Sox could build a nice lead and go into the home-stretch with a nice lead, I like our chances. Bleh.

Are we watching the same game? Jackson has a nasty two-seamer/sinker ball that looks like it's going to run away from righties, but ends up going down and in. In 19 innings he has a 3.79 earned run average, a LOT better than what many of us expected out of him coming out of camp. Who else are we going to put in the bullpen who can give us a sub four ERA? ANd don't tell me Kelly Wunsch because Kelly is aweful against righties... Geez guys...

Yeah, I totally agree. I think we could get Kipper for not a lot (Just look how the Cubs basically scammed them last season), and he would be a hell of a righty to stick in our rotation. It would bump Garland and The Show down in the rotation, thus making them that more effective. Another possibility is Tom Glavine. I know some people here don't like the idea of three lefties in the rotation, but Glavine can flat-out pitch. He's doing just as well as any other pitcher in the NL this season IIRC, and IMO, he wouldn't cost a lot, because the Mets would be trying to dump him and his salary. He'd be with us next year, and he'd be a good mentor for Mark Buerhle, Neal Cotts, Scott Schoenweis, and others like Arnie Munoz. There aren't going to be any real 'aces' on the block (Im talking about Randy Johnson, Roy Halladay like guys who are #1 No Doubt pitchers). But there's going to be some good number twos and number threes. I guess the things factoring into his decision will be: Money (Sad but true. Jerry should Increase payroll at the ASB, but he probably won't). How much we give up (i realize you want to go for it now, but you don't want to give up the farm for a guy, especially if it's only for two or three months usage of him.) Hopefully all this will be nulled out, and Jon Rauch will come up and dominate!

Can I say something that's a bit Off Topic about Juan Uribe (I dont want to start another thread.) Can people on ESPN please learn how to say people's names, especially people who are hitting over 330 right now? I've heard Err-eee-bay, Urr-Ahhh-bay, Urr-Ahh-Buh, Eee-Ree-Bee. Terrible, just terrible. I mean, I dont want to be picky but correct pronunciation of a guy's name would be nice. JUAN You-Ree-Bay. Not that friggin hard...

What a game. That was the most exciting game on TV IMO. Even when the Sox stranded some runners - damn, what a hell of a game. Let's go Rauch - it's your time. How about that BA #1 Ranking was correct all along, just a little, say, delayed? That would be great. LETS GO SOX!
