  1. I'm glad he missed you, and the fact that he got was coming to him while not injuring you, it was well worth it from my perspective. Guys like that deserve to be taken down and arrested hopefully. As you said though, no one will publish anything in regards to an incident like that, unless of course if you were the Cubs fan.
  2. And that turned out how?
  3. Since when did Joe Girardi join the Army? JK, hell of a picture. Really funny.
  4. Over Garland? I don't think so. Schoney did well early on, and I hope he is striving to get back to that, but ease off on the attitude. He doesn't need to b**** just yet. If we feel he would be better out of the pen, then I say do it. If he's going to be a pansy about it, then trade him. I bet the Yankees would be interested. They want a lefty starter, and with a million dollar price tag, is worth the risk, even if they are after someone else.
  5. Although the consecutive games are concerning, it's why you have depth and keep them fresh all season as Ozzie has. If we can gain a comfortable lead in the division, our bench can step in and give our guys the rest they need down the stretch.

He had this before too I believe. Maybe during ST? I'm pretty sure he had them. Not serious, just painful, as was stated.
  7. If they pay enough of his contract, say average about $6 million a year we owe him for the duration, that would be worth it. Depending on who we give up to make that happen, it would potentially be a very good move. And it's possible Jose Mesa could be part of a deal as well.

We have a $2.5 million dollar option on him for next year. Besides, as much of a schmuck Boras is, the decision is ultimately Shingo's. He may decide he likes it here, for many of the same reasons he chose Chicago in the first place. Boras will try to get him as much as possible, but you never know. Shingo seems to really like it here so far.
  9. Gotcha. That's fine, but I doubt it would happen, and I surely wouldn't want it to be the main aspect of the deal.
  10. Can't trade Matt Bush for at least a year. MLB rules.
  11. This was rumored early on in the year and it never happened. It's possible KW left it on the table, but I doubt we do it honestly. We are more likely to trade prospects for him IMO. We'll see, but Jose is probably not going anywhere, at least this year.
  12. It's not just because he can hit, but because he's a real solid defensive catcher with the ability to call good games.
  13. Heard it on the Score. Pretty interesting. They don't seem to think that will help in the resigning and that the Yankees will get him in the offseason. I think differently.
  14. I like it.
  15. Where are the THIS THREAD SUCKS post options? Just curious because this thread sucks.
  16. The biggest difference, besides his control from last year, is that he simply doesn't have that awesome two seamer to compliment his cutter. It's gone, and I would like to know where it went.
  17. Because we're not the lying Cubs for one, and two, we aren't shopping him. If someone offers a deal to make us better, that's one thing. However, there is no reason to lie when we plan on reaping the benefits of his return. I look it as a positive that they let the fans know the truth.
  18. Besides this year, today's game looks refreshing for next year as the possible 5th man. We need to see more, sure, but the guy isn't the best AAA pitcher at the ripe age of 23 for nothing. Under the pressure surrounding today's game, for several reasons, his performance gives reason for optimism.

He got his hand stepped on and he got injured. I believe he is still day to day and not on the DL, so we shall see how serious it is soon.
  20. KW is about winning. I was really upset about Rauch did as well, but if they feel he gives us the best chance of winning, then so be it. Ego has no place on this team. Get the job done no matter what it takes. I'm not surprised, but it's good to see KW is willing to do whatever it takes. He'll make a move as soon as a reasonable opportunity arises.

  22. He's got good speed, not Willie Harris, but he isn't slow. He reads the ball well defensively and is a smart base runner, which helps him maximize the speed he does have. Charlotte is much more of a hitter park than in Birmingham, and since he's been there, Reed has shown his power potential. He's often been compared to a young Palmeiro.
  23. I agree with Olivo for sure, but I'll hold off on Crede. Not because I don't think he is good or won't continue to improve, but because this guy Fields could very well move up quickly and may end up being a better option. We'll see, and like I said, I'm not necessarily saying this to be the case. However, Josh Fields looks like the real deal.

About four years of concern. The Sox dodged a bullet on that one, which is exactly why they don't sign pitchers for over three years.
