Has that "hockey puck" look about it... a bit. Of course, great as usual DeP. Why didn't you make it a .gif? Then, you'd have no background.

What is the Sox's elimination # for the Twinkies? I have a bet going and I want to rub it in to a lousy Twink fan.

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) I take it you haven't seen many Sooners/Trojans fans? It was SO cool to see Oklahoma get knocked down a peg this weekend. Top 10 game of the year IMO. I've been around 'SC fans. They hate UCLA more than ND. Send them a mineral water and a salad and they are happy. -

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Michigan will look damn good kicking Notre Dames asses all over the place. Michigan fans are the cockiest bastages this side of U of Miami fans. -
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Man, this offense looks awesome right now. Very few guys are giving up ABs. It's the Royals.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) Showing the season end averages doesnt indicate how good a team is(or should have been). The Sox have been great on paper since 2000. Now all of their averages are in the pisser and they are 34 games over .500. Besides the fact that the Pirates started the year with Derrek Bell(.179) as their primetime acquisition and started him in the outfield, most of the players you mentioned either werent there(Perez) or played half the year(CWilson 88 games, JWilson 108 games). McClendon has been dealt a bad hand every year he was the coach, the payroll has been dismal, the team has traded away any offense they had as soon as it showed promise. McClendon will get another shot, he didnt blow this one IMO. Sure... Oh, here's a little McClendon trivia. He is the only player in Little League World Series history to hit 5 home runs in one game. http://www.pacpubserver.com/new/sports/7-1.../mcclendon.html

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) That's also a young Aramis Ramirez before his real power surge started and while he was making a ton of errors, and an overpaid Jason Kendall. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/PIT/2001.shtml *Ahem*

QUOTE(Reddy @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) would you rather him start well and suck in the parts of the season where ya really need everyone to be clicking on all cylinders? i'll take pauly's slow starts over a slow finish If I had a choice, I'd take Paulie not sucking at all.
-
QUOTE(TheHammer @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) Konerko is a career .278 hitter and is currently hitting........ .278 He frustrates the HELL out of us Sox fans because he is a notoriously slow starter batting average-wise.

QUOTE(winodj @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday man! We coulda made your thread for you if you put it in your profile.

A lot of dead links in the answers pages.

I got 8 of 12 in the taxi one.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) I couldn't disagree more...They're offense is anemic, at best. Jason Bay and 8 stiffs is not gonna equate out to a lot of victories. Before Jason Bay, they had Brian Giles, Jason Kendall, Aramis Ramirez, Craig and Jack Wilson, the same pitchers minus Oliver Perez and still couldn't finish .500.
-
QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) That being said, I would rather stick with the pitchers who are consitantly good, such as Buehrle. Since July 1, Buehrle has had a few rough outings. Jul. 3 @OAK L 7-2 6.1IP 14H 7R 4ER 0HR 2BB 3K Jul. 9 OAK L 10-1 7.0IP 6H 5R 2ER 1HR 2BB 3K Jul. 21 BOS L 6-5 6.0IP 10H 5R 3ER 0HR 3BB 1K Jul. 26 @KC L 7-1 6.0IP 8H 7R 7ER 0HR 2BB 2K Aug. 12 @BOS L 9-8 7.0IP 12H 6R 6ER 2HR 2BB 2K Aug. 17 MIN L 5-1 7.0IP 8H 5R 4ER 2HR 2BB 7K Aug. 29 @TEX L 7-5 7.0IP 9H 7R 4ER 2HR 1BB 4K In his last 12 starts. he has given up +5 runs (albeit some were unearned) in 7 of the 12.

Honestly, McClendon was overdue. That team has talent now and had talent before when he got the team. The least they could have done is compete with the Cubs, Reds and Brewers.
-
QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) What about the possibility of Bill Mueller playing first, or Kevin Millar? Mueller is arguably a better defensive 3b than Crede.
-
It should have been titled the "All-Injury Team". Would Rosenthal be "washed-up" if he broke his hand and couldn't write?
-
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) lol that could work too. Or turn him into the batboy.

You mean... this?
