  1. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 11:03 PM) Bears were in it until the end on the road against a decent Green Bay team Beat the defending World Champions pulled out a comeback victory in a game we should have won regardless, but it was still on the road @ Seattle Doubled up the lions 48-24 And a forte fumble away from our winning FG drive against one of the top 10 teams in the NFL on the road. f*** YOU ^^^^ Yes mods go ahead and suspend me L///M///A///O///!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh hell motherf***in' no. Ranger just straight went loon. LMAO. And I like Whitesoxfan101. But I'm rollin' right now. I hope RC doesn't get suspended.
  2. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 12:26 PM) OK, here is my 2 cents and I have not posted in a while. What about offering the Padres a package of cheap talent headed by Hudson/Viciedo and their choice of maybe 3 other AA/AAA prospects to table a discussion for AGon? I know this is not reality but just say they are so hard up to dump his salary and completely retool the franchise. I really don´t want to touch our startin 4 as we have given them 4 good pitchers already for Peavy. Which brings me to my last point. Could Peavy and Linebrink sell Chicago to Agon? Awright flame away!!!!! He would definitely solve our lefty power bat with high OBP. Dump his contract? For cheap talent? HE IS CHEAP TALENT! Cheap PROVEN talent at that. He's arguably the best bargain (production against salary) in all of baseball. The Padres would have to be thoroughly overwhelmed to even consider trading him.
  3. Angels are still alright if they can get game 2. Gotta give it to Carl Winslow, though. He was money tonight.
  4. QUOTE (scenario @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) Amazing to think that Texeira jilted the Angels and had a great year with the Yankees... But that the Angels didn't really miss him... Because Kendry Morales stepped up and almost matched Tex's production. Morales finally delivering on the potential have talked about for so long was a huge factor in the Angels' success this year. They were also able to sign/resign Abreu, Juan Rivera and Darren Oliver. Would they still have been able to sign Fuentes? Regardless, Tex turning them down was the best thing that ever happened to them.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 07:20 PM) What's the question, "Who is the better LB?" It's really not close, Willis by a substantial amount. Willis is head and shoulders the best MLB in the league, you really have to have 2 pairs of homer glasses on to think Briggs compares. Pretty much. But there was part of me that felt dirty. lol.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 06:57 PM) I'd go with Willis. You're a Bears fan, no? I almost felt like a traitor for going with Willis. But this dude (Willis) is just too sick. And I love Briggs. I got into a very heated argument with some hardcore Bears fans at ESPNZONE on Saturday.
  7. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 06:55 PM) Yea, so many great Hall of Fame players played in Chicago when i was young and I really wish I had been older to really appreciate them more. Jordon, Thomas, Sandburg, Payton, and those are just to name a few and most had retired or reached their peak before I even got into high school (freshman year was 1997). Back then I watched sports, but didn't really "take in" and fully understand their greatness. Same here. In Thomas, Jordan and Payton, we had three of the best ever at what they did. Now thanks to youtube, I can get plenty of Jordan/Payton (especially Jordan). But it's next to impossible to get vintage Frank Thomas games/highlights. I would do anything to get my hands on games from '93 and '94.
  8. Patrick Willis or Lance Briggs?
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 05:00 PM) I guess I am in the minority, but I think he comes back and has a monster 2010, a la 2008. Talent has never been in question. I don't think 2008 was a fluke at all. This guy raked at the college level. He raked at the minor league level. And he's raked at the Big League level when healthy. Of course, "when healthy" are the key words.
  10. This should be a heck of a series. You know the Angels won't be scared. Mike Scioscia is 2-0 against the Yankees in the postseason.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 05:07 PM) They missed Morneau; definitely. Yeah, I'd love to dismiss the Twins as chronic posers (which I think they are to a degree). But them not having Morneau was just like us not having CQ last year. Just too hard to overcome a loss like that.
  12. I really hate myself for not recording more games during the 90's. If anybody has any games from that time they'd like to sell, please, message me.
  13. So can any Illini fans tell me about Nnanna Egwu? Looks like he just committed. The Illiniloyalty board is acting like we just landed Patrick Ewing. All I know is this guy has only been playing ball for a few years and is extremely raw.
  14. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 11:46 AM) Illinois is just brutal. Brew--Tull. I expect a nice ass whippin' by Indiana next week. That should be the final nail in Zook's coffin. This has become a despicable program.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 12:07 AM) Cardinal fans can show their true colors. They shouldn't bury Holliday since he was a f***ing god this season and helped them win the division. I haven't heard any reports yet. But if their fans are classy they'll just shut up and leave Holliday alone. They still have a chance to win two at home and tie the thing. Granted, it was huge though. Game's ova if he makes the easy play. s*** happens. Interesting quote after the game: “That ball got lost in 50,000 white towels shaking in front of Matt’s face,” Wainwright said. “It doesn’t really seem fair that an opposing team should be able to allow their fans to shake white towels when there’s a white baseball flying through the air. How about Dodger Blue towels?” I went over to http://www.birdsonthebat.org/. LOL. They destroyed Holliday over there.
  16. Hudson above Neftali? That list loses all credibility right there.
  17. Not a chance in hell.
  18. QUOTE (joeynach @ Oct 8, 2009 -> 12:18 AM) If you could trade Jenks to get some nice young players in here I would ok with that only if we make another addition to the pen. The only scenarios I could see would be acquiring Wuertz to set up and moving Thornton to close or signing Rafael Soriano to close and keeping thornton at set up. I wouldn't touch Wuertz with a 10 foot pole. And Soriano has filthy good stuff, but he's too injury prone.
  19. Broxton just aced Ankiel with a 100 MPH FB to end the game. That was so pretty.
  20. Baseball is my favorite sport by a pretty decent margin. But GOD DAMN this game is taking forever. Oh, and the Dodgers bullpen is pretty spectacular. If you're trailing after 5-6 innings against these guys, you're in deep s***.
  21. Typical Twins bulls***. A bloop single by Cuddyer and a wild pitch plates 2 for the Twins.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) Easily. Keeping Happ and Drabek is key for them. Didn't Ricciardi want one of Brown/Taylor, too? And Jason Knapp, a key figure in the trade with the Indians, just recently had surgery I believe. So who knows how he'll bounce back.
  23. I hope the Yankees sweep. Winning every game 13-2 would be a nice bonus for me.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 01:30 AM) True, Jordan4Life, but as a Sox fan, I'd be pissed if we didn't get a run in on a play in which our batter was hit by a pitch. That really cost them the game. Weren't the bases loaded? Man, a crucial call. That's not the point. JD had no business being awarded first base, as the ball clearly did not hit him in that game. I'm 150% sure not a single Sox fan on earth was complaining.
  25. I've got 6 words for those b****ing about the Inge play: Jermaine-Dye-Game-two-World-Series. The Tigers got everything they deserved and then some. You blow a 7 game lead with 20 to go and you have no business in the playoffs. I can't wait to peep motownsports.com.
