Oh, steffffffff...If it's Halloween, it must be SAW! Oh, yes. Saw 5 this Friday. I'm shaking like a leaf. It's been Christmas every October since 2004 for J4L.

What movies have actually made you cry?
Transformers: The movie. The cartoon version from 1986. I cried like a little b**** when Optimus Prime died. I swear to god it was like my father died. My mom had to comfort me and remind me it was just a cartoon. I wasn't having any of that s***. I locked myself in the room for atleast two weeks. I wanted Megatron's ass gutted.

WS Winner
Really amazing at the disrespect shown by many here regarding the Phillies. You don't get to this point with one good starting pitcher. Even if he is Cole Hamels.

Soxtalk's Biggest Loser Club
Rex, first off let me say you're doing one hell of a job. Do people even recognize you anymore? Second, what do your daily workouts consist of? I've gained about 30 pounds this year (damn drinking). I'm finally ready to get back into shape. Just wanted to know what you did to get so much weight off. Thanks.

And just when you don't think it's possible to get any worse for Cubs fans. The Rays have gotten to a series before them. lol.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 19, 2008 -> 09:38 PM) THe Rays are going to be good for a whiel as that rotation is loaded and they have more in the miinors. For anyone claiming they hate bandwagon fans imagine how they have to feel...they have never won mroe than 70 games in a year. THink about that. WHERE IS DICKIE V!!!!!!! And for the TRUE Tampa fans, I congratulate them. For the ones that didn't even know the team existed until August that now claim to be diehard fans, they can burn in hell. And they all know who they are.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 18, 2008 -> 08:31 PM) Alright, I'm on the bandwagon that Boston is going to the series. I'm flip flopping more that Mariotti now. Playoff lesson #1 for the Rays: When you have a team down, finish them! I'm glad we finished off Boston in three straight in '05. No telling what would've happened if El Duque hadn't pulled his miracle act in game 3.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 10:39 PM) Right on,on the one team you truly hate I would wager you 5 bucks that its the same one I despise, those cocksuckers from a Minnesota,I don't even bother to call them Twins, they are the Minnesota Cocksuckers to me,the Tigers Indians and Royals don't suck like the Minnesota Cocksuckers... You're actually wrong. Good guess though. lol. I loathe no team and fanbase in all of sports more than the Scubs and their scum-of-the-earth short-bus riding supporters.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 10:30 PM) Spend some time in New England and you will learn to hate them. I got to spend 3 weeks in August in that area of the country. You might be right. I just can't bring myself to hate them. Maybe if we had a rivalry with them or something. lol. I save my hate for one team and fanbase.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) I don't hate the Red Sox like many in here do,wtf,we aren't Yankees fans...I hope the Carmines break the hearts of those upstart punks at their horrendous "ballpark" in front of their bandwagon trailer trash "fans"...GO RED SOX!!! I feel you on that one. I truly hate one franchise and their fans. I don't have to tell you who they are. I actually envy Boston and their ability to stay competitive year in and out while still being able to produce elite talent from within.

Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays ALCS Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 11:15 PM) IMO, Boston has just as good of a shot to win this now. I know Beckett hasn't been himself but they're 8-1 since 2004 in elimination games and with one of the 5 best postseason pitchers ever going for you in game 6, you have to feel good. 12-2 if you go back to 2003 if my math is correct. The only team since then that's really cut their hearts out when they had the chance was, well, some team from 2005. I can't remember which one.

Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays ALCS Thread
I know the Rays have two games at home, but this is going to be tough to bounce back from. Up 7 runs and dominating only to lose. Joe Maddon is going to have to really earn his paycheck the next couple days. Say what you want about Boston, but these guys just don't die.

What Is Becoming Evident in Playoffs
QUOTE (striker62704 @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 03:55 PM) I don't like the Phillies pitching aside from Hamels. Moyer, Myers and Blanton will all get killed by TB bats. TB has some good pitching. They are young too so they'll be around awhile. Seen what Myers has done since the break? He's been one of the best pitchers in baseball since then. Moyer and Blanton are more than serviceable #3 and #4 starters. The Phillies pitching is plenty good.

What Is Becoming Evident in Playoffs
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 11:33 PM) a.) It's becoming apparent Tampa Bay is indeed having a 2005 White Sox season and postseason. The Rays, whose pitching I feel isn't as good as it has shown and could implode next season, has been great. The squad is doing it all with speed, power, defense, everything. I picked Boston to win in five. It'd take a pretty big choke for the Rays to lose this series. The Rays have shown they are for real. b.) Boston doesn't deserve to advance trotting Wakefield out there to get his knuckler knocked into oblivion. This I agree with. The Dodgers were plenty good. They just ran into a better team. The hottest team going right now. And I seriously doubt the Phillies are going to get "mauled." Just look at that team. They're stacked. I actually think they should be favored against the Rays. Easy to say that now. Even with a healthy CQ, this team was too flawed and one- dimensional to win in the playoffs. We got what we had coming. And I don't think it would've been any different had we played Boston (despite what the Rays are doing to them).

Danks now an elite pitcher
Love what John did this past year. But you've got to do it more than once to be considered elite. No reason to believe he won't be able to repeat or even exceed this year's performance next year, though.

And the Rays say screw you J4L and your opinion that they're too young and inexperienced to dance with the Red Sox in the ALCS. This has been flat out domination the last three nights.

Shelby was kinda old for that league, correct? I hope he really tears up AA next year.

It was a good season
Well, 1 title in 90+ years is a lot of failures. Sure, you can't win it EVERY year or even every other year. Doesn't mean you have to settle for anything less. I bet KW isn't sittin' back and saying "Well, we did win a division that took 163 games. It's ok that we got our asses kicked in the first round. It was a great season." This team had a good season. Good in the sense that they improved so much from the disaster that was last year. But losing your last game at home in October can't be considered anything less than an overall failure.

A C? I wish you had been giving out my grades in hs@greg. Other than a hot June, Swisher gets a big fat F from me. He was brutal this season.

It was a good season
How the heck would Dye moving to DH hinder his offense? Is he more of a mental midget than I know? Dye is simply not a good RF anymore. If you could move somebody there a little quicker/athletic, why wouldn't you?
