Thome injury
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) He probably feels that way because of Thome's whopping 13 RBI in 33 GAMES since the All-Star Break Blame this man for that.

Thome injury
QUOTE(That funky motion @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) I agree. I think that with Thome out of the line up, we might get back to Sox baseball. Gload might be that spark! LOL. Gload is the spark? What the hell? And fathom, I'll take Thome at less than 100% over Gload when he's hot as he can possibly be anyday of the week. Thome is still hitting over .300 this month. His RBI total would look better if our leadoff man wasn't in a coma.

Thome injury
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:53 PM) Why's that? Those are three guys that we don't even have the slightest hint of a capable replacement for. I agree that all those guys can't be replaced. I don't agree for a second that Thome is replaceable.

Thome injury
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) There are three guys on this team that we absolutely can't replace, and they're Dye, Crede, and AJP. Fathom, can I please have some of what you're smokin'? It must be some goood s***.

Thome injury
Strained left hamstring. Will know more tomorrow. It would be a devestating blow if we had to put him on the DL.

Chris Young Called Up
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) Because he doesn't fit in the Sox's plans? My comment about Loaiza was a joke towards the people who are using one game to evaluate Chris Young, and the trade itself. Even Kenny said he thinks the Young trade will be one that bites him in the rear. I think he's right.

White Sox @ Tigers, 7:05pm CT
QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 06:59 PM) Willie Harris hit .400 at Charlotte. Big deal So at what point do you bring a guy up to see what he can do?

White Sox @ Tigers, 7:05pm CT
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) That problem is alleviated when McCarthy, you know, pitches more than once a week. We all know Ozzie loves his matchups. It'd be nice to have another lefty besides Thornton we can count on late in the game.

White Sox @ Tigers, 7:05pm CT
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) Logan still isn't ready though. Have you seen his numbers down at Charlotte? He deserves another shot.

White Sox @ Tigers, 7:05pm CT
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) No it won't. Tracey can't find anything right now, Logan isn't needed, and no one else deserves a promotion. Our offense has been sporatic at best, we need a hitter, strikeouts be damned. Neal Cotts says hello.

White Sox @ Tigers, 7:05pm CT
So, Mr. Garcia. Will 6 runs be enough for you this night? You know, since you lost your last start because we didn't hit.

White Sox @ Tigers, 7:05pm CT
I guess Leyland feels you have no chance when Pods is knockin' you around.

White Sox @ Tigers, 7:05pm CT
Looks like Miner's got nothin' today. We need to get into their 'pen early.

White Sox @ Tigers, 7:05pm CT
We're gonna need atleast 7 tonight.

White Sox @ Tigers, 7:05pm CT
This is gettin' hard to stomach. I knew Freddy was gonna s*** his pants once again in the first f***in' inning. So how catchable was the double by Monroe? I'm following the game on Yahoo GameChannel.

Chris Young Called Up
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 05:19 PM) A Rowand thread and a Chris Young thread in "Pale Hose Talk." Please move on. They are not with the White Sox (that doesn't mean pay zero attention to them) anymore. *ducks* ...and when Jeremey Reed was called up he hit over .400 and made an awesome catch that was all over Baseball tonight. People then were screaming about how the Mariners worked us over. Point taken. However, I think we (Sox fans) are gonna rue the day Kenny traded this guy -- especially for an underachieving, overpaid, headcase like Javy. Could you imagine a LF/CF combo of Young and Anderson? I think I'm gonna cry now.

The Ozzie Guillen Battleground Thread
I'm kinda torn on Ozzie at the moment. To me, the guy is a great manager overall. His record since he's been here speaks for itself. No matter who we're talking about, a manager is only as good as his players. I think Ozzie could do a little better job in some aspects. But make no mistake about it -- just about any manager wouldn't look as good when your entire rotation and key bullpen guys all have average to below average seasons all at the same time.

Are you in or are you out?
The play of this team is simply disgusting and despicable. However, the WC is still there for the taking. Nobody should be "out" until we're officially eliminated.

A plea to White Sox fans
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) Obviously you guys are right, the mighty Twins are headed straight to the World Series and the White Sox are the only team with real weaknesses. I honestly can't thank you all enough for pointing this out to me. How blind I've been! Now I can stop following this team and stop posting on this website, and maybe do something more worthwhile with the last couple of months of my summer Apologies for all the wasted time, mods please delete this thread While you are at it, please delete my account I'm pretty f***ing sure I'm never coming back to this place Not tryin' to be a dick, Greg. But pointing out other teams' weaknesses doesn't make me feel any better about our own. I know there isn't a perfect team out there.

A plea to White Sox fans
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) Two words - Carlos Silva I've got 8 words for you: Mark Buehrle, Jose Contreras, Freddy Garcia, Javier Vazquez. Edit: Make that 10 words. Damaso Marte.

A plea to White Sox fans
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) Ah, ah, ah. You mentioned that the Sox have lost ground, and that the Twins lost Liriano. But I don't see anything about the Tigers, Yanks, Sawks, A's, Angels, or Rangers. And you call yourself a fan. LOL

A plea to White Sox fans
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) Okay, as long as every time you point out what is wrong with our team you also point out what is wrong with every other AL contender, because it is the same s*** across the board. What negative thing can you say about the Twins? Liriano being out? That's what we're gonna hang our hats on? We've lost ground since he's been out.

2006 MLB Catch-All Thread
I want to know why Lilly was so upset at being taken out. Dude gave up 7 earned runs in just over 2 innings of work.

aaron rowand back in chicago
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) Ron Santo was on the radio, and he guaranteed there must be something seriously wrong with him. Hopefully he's ok, as I don't think Santo knows much about leg injuries. Sprained ankle for Rowand That's cold. I love it.
