Charlie Haeger to likely start Wednesday
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 8, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) Why appologize? All he had to do was give a little more information than he did he wouldn't have been doubted like he was. True. But he was right in the end. So I felt the need to apologize.

Charlie Haeger to likely start Wednesday
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 8, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) McCarthy pitched Sat. and Sunday. His arm would need to be stretched out probably, so he probably couldn't go more than 4 or 5 innings, and considering he is the main guy in the bullpen who can pitch multiple innings, it could be a huge problem. This is the right move considering how Haeger has been pitching. Does anyone know if tommorrow is Haeger's regular day to pitch? It probably doesn't make much difference with a knuckleballer, but it has been an issue with guys called up before. Isn't Freddy scheduled to pitch tomorrow?

wcw, if you're still here, sorry for going off on you. You were right.

Charlie Haeger to likely start Wednesday
I knew our luck as far as pitching health goes was bound to run out eventually. This is terrible news.

Another notable thing about Crede
QUOTE(jenksd @ May 8, 2006 -> 02:04 PM) This wasn't meant to be a Crede>A Rod or Chavez thread. But to point out how phenomonal 5 strikeouts in 100+ ABs is. I know exactly what you meant. What Crede's done so far at the plate this year has been amazing. I just want to see him do it for atleast half a season before I get excited.

Another notable thing about Crede
QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ May 8, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) i'm not real sure where to look, but if Crede were to hit similarly to his minor league days, what kind of #'s could we expect? Was he nothing but average with a little bit of pop, a power guy with only a decent avg, or was he just an all around dominant offensive player- pop+avg.? His minor league numbers were very solid. He hit for average and power. I believe he even won the Southern league player of the year in '00 or '01.

Nice move by Griffey Jr.
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 8, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) God, I wish Griffey would have stayed healthy and given Hank Aaron a run for his money, I'd be rooting for him every step of the way. But where would he? Nevermind. That joke is played out.

Another notable thing about Crede
I'm still a little leery of Joe at the moment. I mean, this is almost too good to be true. I always knew he had it in him, though. I'm gonna wait another month before I deem this the 'new' Joe Crede.

Charlie Haeger to likely start Wednesday
QUOTE(wcw2323 @ May 8, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) I heard a rumor that Charlie Haeger has been summoned from Charlotte and will pitch in Chicago Wednesday night against the Angels. Can anybody confirm this? Where did you hear this?

AL Central Central
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) Personally I think Detroit is going to fade like a cheap sweater in the wash. I just dont see their pitching holding up all season long. Weren't you the same guy who said the Royals would be better than the Tigers?

Official NBA Playoffs Thread
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 8, 2006 -> 11:09 AM) Can we at least wait until the series gets back to Dallas? That was a pretty close game last night in SA. I got this series going 6 games. That's it. The Mavs don't fool me. They are not capable of beating the Spurs 4 times in a playoff series.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 7, 2006 -> 09:12 PM) San Fran is hosting Chicago this week. Yeah, I just caught that. My mistake. It would still be nice to see him do it against those losers.

Knights take Double Header
Awesome to see the Knights playing so well. They're getting outstanding pitching every night. So what's the scoop on this Heath Phillips? Is he somebody that could realistically make it to the bigs?

QUOTE(Felix @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) For me, the steroids aren't the problem with him. I don't like that he took steroids, but I don't absolutely hate him for it. I absolutely hate him for being an arrogant prick, horrible teammate, and blatent racist. I don't know about the racist part. But I can see where you're coming from.

QUOTE(bmags @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) how do we win...and where do they come to... far more complicated than you made it out to eb How is it complicated?

Is D Lee that important
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) They have a lot of overperforming vets and green youngsters, they'll start to fade soon. Their farm system is so f***ing stacked though that they should be good very soon and keep up that winning for a while. If they move a few players like Tony Clark and others they could add a few more young players to their future plans. That division is pretty awful. Maybe even as bad as last year. I could see them hanging around for a while.
-
Is D Lee that important
The D-Backs will be very scary if they can develop a pitching prospect or two.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) s*** like this is pushing me closer to agreeing with TRU. But Bonds is the only player in history to ever take steroids. Don't you know this?

Timely pep talk boosts Anderson
Anderson will be fine. He's not gonna hit .160 all year. But man can this kid play some cf. Kenny was right on the money when he said he was better than Rowand. That's right Jeckle, I said it.
