  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) Someone doesn't know how to close their tags properly, for shame. :headshake lol..I know..I messed it up..I'll fix it.
  2. Twins. Don't even have to think hard about it.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) I'd rather have someone associated with the team in some way not just another bandwagoner even if it is Mike. JMO. I agree. I love MJ. But he was seriously sippin that Cub Kool-Aid in 2003. And he was bad luck when he threw out the first pitch in 1993. lol.
  4. Cards. They're banged up and their staff doesn't scare me nearly as much as the Stros does.
  5. QUOTE(KeithFranklin @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) If Astros win in 6 Saturday: Clemens (on 6 days rest) Sunday: Pettite (on 5 days rest) Tuesday: Oswalt (on 5 days rest) Wednesday: Backe Thursday: Clemens Saturday: Pettite Sunday: Oswalt If Astros win in 7 Saturday: Pettite (On 4 days rest) Sunday: Backe Tuesday: Oswalt (On 5 days rest) Wednesday: Clemens (on 5 days rest) Thursday: Pettite Saturday: Backe Sunday: Oswalt Go cards push it to 7 Sounds good to me.
  6. This is just more proof that we fans don't know as much as we think we do. How many of us, including me, dissed Ozzie or wanted him fired when we were slumping? Damn, this crow tastes so good. Feed me more, Ozzie.
  7. More support for Crede. This is some of an article by John Donovan from SI.COM.
  8. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) IMO, it should have been Crede. Won Game 2 with a clutch hit. Tied Game 5 with a clutch HR. Won Game 5 with a clutch HR. There's always the World Series, I guess. In any event, here's to Paulie. I think PK and Crede should've been co mvp's. I don't know how you could pick one over the other.
  9. What else could anybody say at this point? We've not only gotten to the World series for the first time in 46 years, we've dominated two outstanding teams along the way.
  10. QUOTE(Beetle @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) Hi! Baseball fan from the Sunshine State here to congratulate all White Sox fans on their Pennant win. This is my first post here, though I've visited the site on occassion. Even though I am a Marlins fan first and foremost (and regular poster on MarlinsBaseball.com -- where I got the link that brought me here), I've much love and respect for the White Sox for different reasons -- one of them being that I've been a huge fan of Frank Thomas since the early 1990's and have rooted for the guy through the years. Even though it's sad that he got hurt and couldn't play, the fact that he was there in body and spirit backing his teammates makes me happy for him nonetheless. I know he wishes he could play, but he's enjoying it regardless, and I'm thrilled for him. And, as you probably know, Marlins fans in general are very fond of Ozzie from his coaching days with us. We miss him dearly, but we're also very happy to see him succeed. I'm also very grateful for the all the support Sox fans have given the Marlins the last two seasons, especially in that "hurricane series" at the Cell in 2004 (against the Cubs). For those of you who showed up for that series: thanks -- you guys rock. Good luck in the World Series -- and, again, congratulations! Welcome to Soxtalk, buddy. Any fan of the Marlins is a friend of mine. We Sox fans will forever owe your team for 2003.
  11. Aren't they still taking call on 1000AM as well? This is just beautiful. A night none of us will ever forget.
  12. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:30 AM) Going out with the Mrs. Somewhere she really wants to go, reservations made long ago, paid for and unrefundable. My happy home is important to me , and since it's Game One nothing will be decided anyway, so I'm okay with avoiding updates and watching a tape of the game when we get home. Whipped!
  13. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:25 AM) They deserve more than my hat. I guess I can give them the shirt off my back too. Maybe some pants if they're interested. So how many pitchers will be on the World Series roster? 5 or 6? They deserve my hat, shirt, pants, boxers, briefs, body hair, even my soul.
  14. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:22 AM) TELL ME ABOUT IT. I am piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiss d. But there's seriously nothing I can do about it. What can be more important? Explain yourself!
  15. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) They lost at 3 home games. Their best hitter was terrible as well as their tablesetter. They lost, we won. They got beat. Nuff said. ^
  16. Great thread. I'm happy for all Sox fans. But I do have a soft spot for the old school fans that were cheering this team long before my parents got drunk, f***ed, and I came flying out.
  17. If I'm Ozzie, I don't change a thing. Everybody is gonna get their normal, and in some cases, more rest than they usually get. 1) Contreras 2) Buehrle 3) Garland 4) Garcia
  18. It's a Sox town once again.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) Not in the dugout...in the seats by the dugout. There were at least 3000 of us there all going crazy and cheering for the Sox. Jurassic came out and sprayed the fans with champagne, it was so sweet. Awesome!
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) Single greatest sports moment of my life. The game was freaking awesome. Just finally got home. When the game ended I gave my dad the biggest hug in my life. Shook the hand of a few Angel fans near me and than just starred with my hat on half sideways (after almost throwing it in excitement) for about 5 minutes. Finally made it down to the dugout and started cheering like hell for 45-50 minutes. Bumped into Trev (Hi8is) during the celebration and was just giving Sox fans all over high 5's. The game was totally awesome, from pre game BP (watching it with Hi8is, Whitesoxmgr, WhiteSoxMurph, CalWSide (Ron)). It was totally sweet. My voice is officially long gone. Greatest game in my life and I hope it will be topped on Saturday. When we left the stadium first thing I saw was a huge lightning bolt streaking across the sky. WAY TO GO SOX, WAY TO FREAKING GO!!!! 4 MORE WINS!!!!! That's awesome, Jason. You actually got to hang ou in the dugout? So f***in cool.
  21. Ill admit, I've said some negative things about Joe. But, I always knew he had this in him. That's what was so damn frustrating. A new Joe Crede has emerged. And I hope he's our 3rd baseman for the next 10 years.
  22. That was the most devestating display of dominant pitching I've ever seen. This staff will go down as one of the best ever.
  23. Congrats, Paulie!!!!
  24. I have no words to describe what I feel right now. None!
  25. QUOTE(beck72 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 04:03 AM) Am I the only one who isn't ready to go tear it up in the streets if the sox win more ALCS game?! Yes, just making it to the World Series is a big accomplishment. Only two teams in all of baseball get that honor. Yet judging by many peoples reactions--and the media of course--just an appearance seems enough. Jay Mariotti's latest column, though very congratulatory and upbeat on the sox, far different than his usual drivel, is once again off the mark. The city of Chicago shouldn't go crazy over an appearance in the WS. That's what a city like Tampa Bay would do. I'm glad the sox players realize this would be just another step closer to fulfilling their goal of winning a WS. I hope more fans also have this point of view as well. Then after five more wins, the city can have real reason to celebrate I see your point. But this is Chicago we're talking about. Throw out the Jordan era, and this city has had flat nothing to really get excited about for atleast 20 years. I think every "true" Sox fan has earned the right to go crazy.
