  1. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) I didn't see it posted anywhere, but Contreras was named AL Pitcher of the Month for September. That makes 3 Sox pitchers who have done that this season. Nobody deserved it more. I can't wait for Tuesday.
  2. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) I thought the main reason NY got rid of him is because,he always got rocked by the Red Sox! I know he is not the same pitcher now,as he was then but it makes you think. Makes you think about what? You said it yourself, he's not the same pitcher he was then. I can't think of anybody in the al, outside of maybe Santana, that I would want going in game one.
  3. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) Manny carried Boston down the stretch. Must keep him & Ortiz from lauching rockets at the the Cell. Solo shots don't hurt as much. That's why I believe controlling Damon is the key.
  4. We've gotta keep Damon under wraps. You can talk about Papi and Ramirez all you want, Damon is their motor. And, I believe game one is crucial. Not for the Red Sox, we know they can come back from anything, but for the White Sox. We haven't won a home playoff game since 59. We need to get that monkey off our back ASAP.
  5. A capper to an AMAZING regular season. 99 f***in wins. Who predicted that? Bring on the Bosox!
  6. I know this isn't important, but I'm hoping are games are televised on Fox. I'll be dissapointed if they're on the sissy family channel or espn. I want the big time.
  7. In no order: 1) Second game of the season against Cleveland when we scored 4 in the bottom of the 9th to win 4-3. 2) May 30th against the Angels. Bullpen blows it in the top of the 9th, but the offense scores 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to win the game 5-4. 3) June 12 against the Padres. Rowand's huge hr off of Trevor Hoffman. 4) June 15 against the Diamondbacks. The Sox are down 6-1 in the 6th then go on to explode for a season high 10 runs that same inning to avoid a sweep and beat the D-backs 12-6. 5) June 18 against the Dodgers. The Sox score 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Dodgers 5-3.
  8. But I though Frank was a selfish baby?
  9. QUOTE(smalls2598 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) Although it is a good day to be a Sox fan, I'm also a bit depressed. My dad passed away earlier this year; he was a huge Sox fan. Of course, he is the one who made my brother, sister and myself into a Sox fan, and also converted my mom from Cubs to Sox. He was the one that first brought me to Sox games at Old Comiskey Park and taught me all the rules, how to keep score and all the stories of Sox History. He was there with me at a 93 playoff game vs the Jays, and we watched the Sox win the 2000 Central Division. And after turning 21, we shared quite a few beers while watching the Cubs collapse in the 2003 playoffs. As stupid or odd as it may have seemed, I dedicated this season to him. And when the Sox had everything going their way in the first half, it seemed that maybe he had something to do with it! So now that the Sox have wrapped up a playoff spot, it feels great, but it would be so much better if he was with me to celebrate. There is nothing more I'd love tonight than to share a celebratory beer with you. So to you Dad; the Sox did this for you! To your dad and all White Sox fans everywhere.
  10. I'm getting Tuesday and Wednesday off next week. I'm not missing a single second of White Sox playoff baseball.
  11. I am mentally exhausted. I feel like one of the players. lol. Just an outstanding job and an outstanding season by the White Sox.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:50 AM) We win tomorrow and we win the division Jordan, complicated stuff, read a few threads down. Word? Oh s***. I thought we had to win and hope the Tribe lose tomorrow. I might have to change my plans afterall.
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:44 AM) I'm waking up for the game, watch it till my 2 o'clock class and watch it on gameday from there. I would ditch my 2 but I can't cause I have to ditch that class next tuesday to come home for game 1 of the alds We have to wait and see what Cleveland does anyway. It make no sense to ditch tomorrow. lol
  14. I have learned the hard way not to take anything for granted when it comes to this team. I don't care if Barney Rubble is pitching. We gotta go out there and take care of business on the field.
  15. I'd rather make it and take a chance on something very, very flukish happening. But, like 83, 93, and 2000, we're gonna be one and done.
  16. To think, if we win these last 2 games like we should've, we could possibly clinch tomorrow. So sad.
  17. August 11 is actually when this "dream" season turned into a f***ing nightmare. I've never been so high and so low in one year. Why did this team have to wait almost 4 1/2 months to show their true colors? I could handle never being in it. But to get my hopes up like this? So cruel.
  18. Jose has been the stopper lately, will the offense bother showing up, though?
  19. We ain't clinchin a damn thing unless the offense comes out of it's coma.
  20. I feel good about any game in which either B-mac or Jose starts. Will win this one.
  21. It's never, ever been easy with this team. Even when we were playing great. This offense never allows it to be easy.
  22. QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) August 12th @ Jacobs Field Devil Rays 8 Indians 6 August 13th @ Jacobs Field Devil Rays 8 Indians 2 August 14th @ Jacobs Field Devil Rays 1 Indians 0 The D-rays have been playing very good ball the last 2 months. I wouldn't be shokced to see them take 2 of 3 from the tribe, surprised, but not shocked.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) Another wonderful performance in the clutch tonight by Mr. Dye. Don't forget about A.J.
  24. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) I'd like to know why Garland couldn't keep the Tigers down, that's all. He made Inge look like a superstar. The most frustrating thing is both hr's came with 2 outs. But, even with that, the horrible offense execution is what lost us this game.
  25. Well, realistically, I never thought we would sweep these guys. The goal should be to take 3 of 4. We've got a red hot McCarthy/Contreras going the next two nights, and Freddy has pitched very well in Detroit as a member of the Sox. I still think we're alright.
