I don't think so. These last two losses will be too much to overcome. The way the Stros have been playing you have to assume they'll take care of business "Although anything can happen". You can pretty much stick a fork in them.

Exactly. That's why I see the Braves treating this upcoming series like a playoff series.

I'm kinda torn. The Astros are pretty much my second favorite team. And at the same time I would like to see Bonds get another shot at a ring. But it's hard not to pull for the Stros. This team was literally six feet under just a month and a half ago. Now I think they've won something like 33 of their last 43 games. What makes their run even more amazing if not shocking is they've done it without two of their top four starters in Pettite and Wade Miller.

He was their set-up man though. It's quite obvious the guy thrives in the set-up role. He's simply not a closer. The Cubs had no choice when Borowski went down. I had a feeling all season long the Cubs bullpen would be their downfall. Even when they signed Nomar I felt this way. Their biggest mistake was not upgrading their pen.

s***ty loss for the Giants. However, im totally stunned at the turn around by the Astros. This team was as dead as you could possibly be at the all-star break. Even as late as the trade deadline they looked done. What makes it even more stunning is they've done all this without two of their top four starters coming into the season. It's even sweeter that this all started with them taking 3 of 4 from the Slubs at Wrigley. All they basically have to do now is sweep the Rockies at home where they've been liertally unbeatable the last month and they're in. This is without a doubt one of the most unbelievable IN SEASON turn arounds i've ever seen. Go Astros

If Tyson can ever stay healthy, that trade won't look so bad. I like Elton. But I never thought he was a guy you could build a team around. If Tyson can live up to his potential, he could very well be just as good as Brand. As far as Miller goes. I think it's a case of the system making the player. The Kings system is perfect for Miller. I don't see him having the same type of success on any other team.

Yeah, I used to be one of those fans. But i'm glad he's gone now. Dude is a total headcase. He'll probably beat up his coach during a game at some point.

lol. I think the comments were funny. But make no mistake about it. The Braves want no part of the Cubs in the first round. We saw what their pitching could do to their offense last year. That's why I fully believe the Braves will go all out in this upcoming series to help ensure the Giants or Astros win th wc.

Cubs loe 8-3. Astros win 2-1. They're only 1 game back. Unbelievable.

I love football to death. But man. Injuries are a f***in b****.

I won't get into every reason why the Sox aren't goin to the playoffs. But here are the top two reasons. 1.A total collapse by the pitching staff in the second half 2. The injuries to Frank and Maggs. That's right. I'm sick of people acting like we would be in the playoffs had Frank and Maggs been healthy. Our pitching has been flat out brutal since the all-star break. We have a 5.49 team era since the break. We went from 3rd in the al in era in mid June to our current rate of 13th. That's right, Only the Royals have a worse era then we do. No amount of Frank and Maggs would've saved our pitching staff.

Garland stinks! He's 5th starter material. Period!!
