  1. We're gonna win this one. Garcia is gonna step up. The offense is gonna break out.
  2. I haven't really thought about 2005. I don't want to. That's almost conceding 2004 as a waste.
  3. That's nice. Still doesn't mean they're gonna win.
  4. They did go after Benson. But I see your point.
  5. I never really thought about it that way. You're on to something though. We do need some kinda spark. Maybe Ozzie should get throw out or something. Anything to get this team goin again.
  6. Not you Heather. You've been one to keep my hopes up when things are goin bad. We've still got a chance.
  7. Couldn't have said that any better myself.
  8. They have to hang around just in case we do make a run. So they can always say "I really deep down in my heart of hearts knew we had a chance".
  9. Garcia's got to start us off tomorrow. We desperately need him to step up.
  10. I guess if there's anything positive to take away from this it's were barely losing these games. The last 4 games could've gone either way "unfortunately not our way". We're finding every conceivable way to lose games. I'm hoping to god that this is one of those bad stretches every team goes through. Our luck has to change eventually.
  11. I hope Loaiza gets rocked. Yes, i'm bitter.
  12. I don't really care who gives up at this point. I mean, whoever thinks were done, Fine. You have the right to pack it in. I'll choose to keep the faith. We're 5 games out with 2 months to play. It won't be easy. But it's doable.
  13. I thought last year was gonna be Jon's break out year. Then I convinced myself that Jerry Manuel being gone would make Jon a better pitcher. Until he shows otherwise, he's at best a 4th starter. Although I do like a starting rotation of Garcia, Buehrle, Contreras, and Garland.
  14. It's hard for me to believe a team with this type of talent "Yes, even without Frank and Maggs" doesn't go on atleast one big run during the season. I mean think of it. Even when we were playing well we never went on a big time 7, 8, or 9 game winning streak. I still think will sneak one in before the season is over. I just hope when we do, it's not too late.
  15. I hope your dad is ok.
  16. I heard the same thing. Obviously he doesn't wanna be here. Maybe he'll change his mind. If not, f*** him.
  17. I like this trade. Contreras has already proven that when he's on, he's really good. It's all about consistency for him. I thought he was pitching much better for the Yankees. I know he got roughed up in his last start. I don't know. I think this could come back and bite the Yanks in the ass.
  18. The game is not played on paper. No matter who they add, they've got to bring it to the field. It's gonna be a dogfight that will probably go down to the last week for that wild card.
  19. Well, Hopefully the stats don't lie. Nomar is considerably worse away from Fenway Park then he is at Fenway Park. He hit .243 away from fenway last year. And the last 3 years he's hit just .266 away from Fenway.
  20. Apparently the Red Sox are. How the hell could they trade Nomar without getting any pitching in return?
  21. It's a damn shame when Jeckle is the voice of reason.
  22. The Marlins have been desperate for a catcher since I-rod left. Now the've got an all-star caliber one. Name 5 better set up man/closer combo's than Mota/Benetiz? Juan Encarnacion is a solid player with good power, who can also play defense. They obviously feel they have enough pitching "assuming Beckett is healthy". Both teams made out well in this trade.
  23. Are you drunk? How is this a fleecing? The Marlins get one of the best set-up men in baseball to team up with Benitez. They get an all-star catcher. And another pretty good player in Juan Encarnacion. The Marlins have enough starting pitching "with a healthy Beckett" to absorb the loss of Penny.
