What should the Sox do with Morel?
I don't know, but Morel is of the .650 OPS caliber. I don't know what the plan is. How about we get rid of Kenny Williams?

How embarrassing.

Get him out of the organization.

Sox trade for Brett Myers
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) So you're saying you'd never hit a woman? what if she superglued your penis to your stomach? What if she was about to slice your nuts off with an exacto knife? Underrated post.

When will Konerko be...Konerko?
.670 OPS since June 1. He hasn't hit a home run this month. 36 is pretty damn old. Maybe he should start using steroids. That's what I would do if I were in his shoes.

Dempster to Rangers
QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 10:17 PM) Let me know when the White Sox develop an impact bat, let alone have one in their system. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 10:23 PM) Viciedo is a developed impact bat - it's his rookie season. Weak answer.

Dempster to Rangers
Dempster has the lowest BABIP allowed in the NL, and the highest LOB%. That is one hell of a combination.

Run Differential
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 06:38 PM) Alexei Ramirez has been one of our best players the last month. Scrub, he is not. Just for his defense alone, to use the word scrub is pretty much uncalled for. I was only speaking from an offensive standpoint. He's a surefire scrub at the dish, bro.
-
Run Differential
Pretty impressive. We also rank 9th in SLG, and 13th in OBP. Our middle infielders are such scrubs.

Chris Sale is an All-Star
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 02:42 PM) I don't think they're skipping it solely because of the all star game...they're skipping it also because they're desperate to give him some extra rest. And if he sits on Sunday, it buys him Sunday and Monday off, a brief outing on Tuesday, and then Wednesday off, giving him maybe 1-2 innings over 8-9 days. It makes sense from that standpoint. I don't see this as a controversial issue.

Hindsight is 20/20
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) We should take into account his recurring injury problems throughout his career and the fact that he is injured again right now. Today will be his 5th start in the last 50 days. Not to mention he has moved to a huge pitchers park where his ERA is over 1.50 less than it is on the road since joining Oakland. We should also take into account that Brandon McCarthy led the major leagues in FIP last season, and his road FIP was only .16 higher than his home FIP, so forget about that home stadium talk. He was unbelievably dominant. You have to see that.

Hindsight is 20/20
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 08:34 PM) By that logic, BMac >>>>> Roy Halladay Okay, so we should take pre-2011 stats into account when assessing how good of pitcher Brandon McCarthy is as of this moment. His Texas years are definitely relevant, as he hasn't made dramatic improvements since then. You're right, that makes total sense.

Hindsight is 20/20
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 12:52 PM) You mean McCarthy who has been over 100 IP exactly twice since leaving the White Sox? 80 total starts in five years and a .500 record? No thanks. I am talking about the here and now, not 2008 or 2009. He had a 5-to-1 K-to-BB ratio last year, and he's working on an ERA+ of 150 thus far in the 2012 season. I'd say that he's arrived.

John Danks diagnosed with a grade 1 scapula tear
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 05:14 AM) He's in AA My bad. I saw on his fangraphs page that he made a AAA start, so I assumed that he was recently promoted.

John Danks diagnosed with a grade 1 scapula tear
Maybe Nestor Molina will start to tear up Triple A. After all, the guy had 148 strikeouts against 16 walks last year. Recapture the magic, Nestor.

Hindsight is 20/20
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 03:25 AM) It will be interesting to see what kind of contract he ends up with on the FA market. He's definitely one of the top five FA's available, but you have a long list of injury problems and the "Oakland Effect" on pitchers which shouldn't be overlooked, either. Yeah, I'd never trust him to stay healthy, but he led the majors with a 5-to-1 K-to-BB ratio last season. He's still not striking out enough people, though.

Who'd have thought that Brandon McCarthy would turn out to be a more valuable SP than Danks? I thought that trade was a heist at the time.

Heyman power ranks Sox #19
QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 04:13 PM) If any one of their top players go down...they are in trouble. I know that it sucks to hear this, but they'd have won the division fairly easily without Prince Fielder. His presence means that they could win 95+, even if guys like Scherzer and Porcello continue to underachieve. Their offense is devastating enough, but consider for a moment that they might have the best bullpen in baseball: Valverde Benoit Dotel Schlereth Alburquerque

The Official Soxtalk Predict 2012 poll
Voted for 70-73 just to be a jerkoff, but more realistically, I can see them winning upwards of 80. After all, we get to play KC, CLE, and MIN a s***load of times. We could be the best looking ugly chick of the bunch, so to speak. The Maya Rudolph of the AL Central.

Alex Rios
Never trust a guy who would even entertain the thought of stepping onto a golf course, much less play.

White Sox TV Crew Rated Last
QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 07:37 PM) Stoney poney, on the other hand, really stinks, total snooze, everything said above I agree with, not to mention he will always be a Cubs guy to me ... Yeah, you make Sox fans look bad.

PENN STATE SCANDAL
QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 03:08 AM) You're right, you can't just ignore it. However, my problem with the opinions many in this thread are expressing is that they are ignoring everything else. I'm not even saying you don't let the scandal tarnish a majority of his legacy; just that it shouldn't be his ENTIRE legacy. Few things in this life are more despicable than kiddie rape. The hell with everything else Paterno ever did. This overrides everything, and then some.
