AND THAT'S ANOTHER WHITE SOX LOSER!!!
hammerhead johnson replied to nitetrain8601's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) nitetrain no where to be seen And let's hope that he's gone for good. -
Most of my favorite childhood smells were sports-related. I used to love the smell of a new uniform, a new baseball mitt, etc. And of course, napalm in the morning.

Bulls and Malik Allen
hammerhead johnson replied to maggliopipe's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Malik Allen is a slow-footed, defensively challenged fringe player who works hard on the boards and has a decent 10 foot jump shot. I'm not expecting much. I'm pretty sure that I'll be pleasantly surprised at times with his rebounding, but then again, I'm also pretty sure that he won't be able to contain a Top 20 scoring threat out of the PF slot in this league. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) You can build a nice dog without the full Chicago fixin's, but it isn't a Chicago dog. Even though you're in Texas, I trust your opinion.

Holy crap, I thought that the Italian Beef would win in a landslide. Ketchup on a hot dog? I can't fault a guy for having bizarre taste buds, but that s*** is crazy to me.

Happy Birthday, man.

If players reamined on their original teams...
hammerhead johnson replied to redandwhite's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Unbelievably, Houston has no championships to show for it. 1998: -Bobby Abreu left available in the expansion draft -Melvin Mora released -Freddy Garcia and Carlos Guillen traded for Randy Johnson 1999: -Johan Santana left available in Rule V Draft Talk about two years of utter stupidity. -
God damn meathead!

QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) The only part of the lyrics I could catch were "Rode into Nazareth/Was feeling bout Half Past Dead/Just need a place/Where I can rest my head" They're using trailer park anthems in cell phone commercials now?

Scott Rolen out for 6 months

QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) Their pitching? Hudson, Smoltz, Hampton, Thompson...I'd take them in the playoffs. I think you mean to say their hitting is scarier, atleast that is for me IMHO. Their bullpen is bad too, but who knows what could happen in the playoffs. Their hitting is pretty damn good, actually. Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Jeff Francouer, Marcus Giles, Rafael Furcal, Adam Laroche, etc. That works for me. And yeah, I like the 3 man rotation with Hudson/Smoltz/Hampton. But that bullpen is gonna get them knocked out of the playoffs in a hurry. That's why I said that I don't like their pitching too much. This is a very good team, just not a dominant one. -
QUOTE(I HATE AMERICA! @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Bears should cut Benson. But it was a damn good post.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) Well, Cy Hernandez has given up 2 runs in the first inning to the Twins. Not only that, but Lew Ford is doing his best Torii Hunter impersonation in CF. And then he gave up only two hits over his next 7 innings. Altogether, he allowed 2 runs and struck out 9 over 8 innings. This kid is f***ing insane. I got lucky and I picked him up on my soxtalk fantasy squad before he made his first big league start. I wasn't expecting straight-up dominance like this.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) They have made the playoffs for what, 15 straight years now, without breaking the bank any of those years. They have a chance to win just as much as the Cardinals every year, depending on how injuries go. I'd call them incredibly dominant just for how long they've done it. I hear that. I'm just talking about this year, at this point in time. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) Atlanta? Really? You'd consider Atlanta a dominant team right now? I guess that I'd put them in the "Very Good Teams" category with the White Sox, Red Sox, Astros, Angels, Athletics, etc. I don't like their pitching too much. -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) NO

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) I think that we're past embarassing crushes by now. I like nerdy women too. We can go to Starbucks and read books together and what not.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) We gotta get some asian flava into this. I agree, although celebrities are few and far between. If you go to a bunch of Las Vegas casinos, the amount of hot Asian waitresses (with them hooker outfits) is overwhelming. It's truly unbelievable.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) I'd have to add Harvey Keitel's scene in "Bad Lieutenant" when he pulls over the teenage girls for speeding. or Harvey Keitel stripping and seducing an ivory-tickling Holly Hunter in "The Piano" or Harvey Keitel talking to Madonna about a real-life embarrasing sex night in "Truth or Dare" or Harvey Kei... OH HELL... HARVEY KEITEL + SEX is embarrasing. PERIOD. I remember trying to sit down and watch Bad Lieutenant, but I had to turn it off after maybe 20 minutes. I've seen parts here and there since then. Terrible, terrible movie. Haha, you watched Truth Or Dare.

QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) I am sure nobody would own up to ever watching "Boy Meets World", but from that sitcom I can suggest Trina McGee Davis. LT Hell yeah, man. I ain't never seen Boy Meets World, but I like that suggestion. She reminds me of Stacey Dash, who is just drop-dead gorgeous.

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) Michael Michele Ain't that the chick from New Jack City that kind of looks like Vanessa Williams? And is Vanessa too old to qualify at this point?

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) Serena Williams That's actually what I would call an embarassing crush, knight. You should have mentioned her earlier.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) The Cardinals are the TRUE "best team in baseball" without having Rolen, Walker, Sanders, Molina, etc. for parts of the season. They find guys ( including minor-leaguers ) to plug in to their roster and they just keep on rolling. Even as talented as he is, I think they'll be fine without Rolen. Really, they're the only dominant team in baseball. It's kind of like the NFL with the Patriots. They have the most depth, the fewest weaknesses, incredible coaching, etc. I'd put money on them right now if not for the fact that there is an outside shot that the Sox could meet them in the World Series. -
QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) Touche. I thought of Tyra Banks. Ah, there's Halle Berry too. I'd probably add those two and take out the last two. Great, so now the ratio is 14 to 2. We're getting there, people. Slowly, but surely.

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Pretty pale selections you have there. Ever thought of adding some color? Yeah, right on. God damn white boys.
