I remember Carlos Martinez very well. Sad to hear the news. If he was very sick, then it's even sadder considering he was only 40. The Sox traded Ron Kittle, Joel Skinner and Wayne Tolleson to the Yankees to get him and Ron Hassey way back when. RIP Carlos.

Found this on Roto too. Kind of interesting. The Reds would have gotten a #1 starter finally and unloaded their crowded outfield. No wonder their GM got fired.

I don't really care who wins. But if I had to choose.... I like Cowher, he's been there before and never won. Bettis, this might be his last hurrah. This is very similar to when Darrin Jackson (a year removed from playing goes right into the booth) replaces Tom Paciorek. Now, after so many years DJ has his critics. Now, Chris Singleton (right from playing) goes into the booth and replaces the beloved John Rooney. I'll give him a chance. I won't be listening to the radio as much, but I'll definitely cut him some slack his first few months.

I think my screen name speaks for itself. My favorite player for the Sox while I was growing up. 23, of course, being his #. It could be Dusty or whoever their hitting coach is fault (horrible English there). Maybe a change of scenery could be helpful to Patterson, maybe not. Maybe he was just another over-hyped prospect.

Being a Netflix member, I rarely go out to the theatres. So I tend to see a ton of movies in the offseason. The most recent I saw was "The Great Raid" about the WWII POWs stationed in the Philippines. It didn't get much box office. But, it was a great war movie and I was interested to see on personal level as well.
