Carlos Martinez
I remember Carlos Martinez very well. Sad to hear the news. If he was very sick, then it's even sadder considering he was only 40. The Sox traded Ron Kittle, Joel Skinner and Wayne Tolleson to the Yankees to get him and Ron Hassey way back when. RIP Carlos.

Red Sox trade for Coco Crisp
Found this on Roto too. Kind of interesting. The Reds would have gotten a #1 starter finally and unloaded their crowded outfield. No wonder their GM got fired.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) The Cubs sure do love their injury prone SPs, don't they? So who makes more starts next year? This guy or Wood?- Super Bowl XL: Steelers vs. Seahawks
I don't really care who wins. But if I had to choose.... I like Cowher, he's been there before and never won. Bettis, this might be his last hurrah. Holmgren could win two Super Bowls with two different teams (even though his other team was the Packers). Plus, Seattle hasn't won s*** as a city. It's a toss up for me.- Dodgers, Blue Jays interested in B. Molina
Now comes word that he'll sit out the year if he doesn't get the money he wants... :headshake :headshake :headshake- Mike Kiley has a major drug problem
What would be so wrong if both did happen? The Cubs will continue to lose for years and years to come with these guys running the show.- Your Favorite Movies of all time by genre

This is very similar to when Darrin Jackson (a year removed from playing goes right into the booth) replaces Tom Paciorek. Now, after so many years DJ has his critics. Now, Chris Singleton (right from playing) goes into the booth and replaces the beloved John Rooney. I'll give him a chance. I won't be listening to the radio as much, but I'll definitely cut him some slack his first few months.- Say one thing about the poster before you
Not very fond of Frank Thomas- Sutter to the HOF
Gonna be tough for the holdovers next year with Ripken, Gwynn and McGwire on the ballot. It's good that another reliever gets recognized, though.- Sox sign Javier Lopez and Steven Randolph
It probably doesn't mean anything considering he pitched in Arizona and had a 9.something ERA, but I wonder if Lopez's #'s were inflated due to pitching in Colorado?- Explain your Screen Name?
I think my screen name speaks for itself. My favorite player for the Sox while I was growing up. 23, of course, being his #. My sig, is courtesy of SoxFan1, with a little added touches here and there. My avy changes based on my mood or the seasons. Great thread, BTW, I always wondered what some of these screen names meant.- Worst Films of 2005
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) Oh man, I watched that for the first time the other night and thought it was f***ing awesome. I agree. Loved the connecting stories and the cinematography. Also, how can you go wrong with this:- Say one thing about the poster before you
Has Amy Lee of Evanescence in his avatar?- Corey Patterson
It could be Dusty or whoever their hitting coach is fault (horrible English there). Maybe a change of scenery could be helpful to Patterson, maybe not. Maybe he was just another over-hyped prospect.- Worst Films of 2005
QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) ... You must not watch many movies at all. Um, speak for your self please. I see a lot of movies. But after 20 minutes of this trash, I had to turn it off. It was a waste of time.- Worst Films of 2005

Only one word describes that song: horrible. :puke- Films
Being a Netflix member, I rarely go out to the theatres. So I tend to see a ton of movies in the offseason. The most recent I saw was "The Great Raid" about the WWII POWs stationed in the Philippines. It didn't get much box office. But, it was a great war movie and I was interested to see on personal level as well.- Say one thing about the poster before you
