Whatevr we do I just hope to god we dont resign Konerko. He seems like he is a nice guy and everything but I hate watching him. His fielding isnt bad but 2 bad he has like the smallest range of AL 1B.... Than he is so damn slow and watching him hit and change his batting stance every week :puke .... not 2 mention calling out players in the papers and being a double play machine. Say no to Konerko. -
I remember when I first heard this interview and he said Dusty was there and stuff too, so im sure if it was a lie Dusty or someone would come out and say so... Hell Bonds hasnt even denied it has he?

QUOTE(shagar69 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) no way in hell rangers trade blalock, IIRC hes signed for a few years at a very cheap price. that being said, if they for some reason do decide to shop him, i would in a second give up Bmac, Anderson, Crede and pretty much whomever else they wanted, lol. Blalock is just an awesome player and young as hell, less than 25 i think. He does K a lot though, and thats something I hate in players who K a whole lot.... And he isnt that good vs lefties... but yeah id sell the farm for Blalock but my friend who is a rangers fan lets me know that basicly they keeping there core together.... It would prob take a major league pitcher to get him. And if that was the case id rather have Tex whose natural position is 3B I think.... -
He been called up already... I thought he was far from being major league ready when we traded him.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) Yea I agree...most likely he will be bumped up after the draft. Roster spots will have to be opened on the Kannapolis roster for some of the college talent drafted... I just find it funny that everytime a guy has a good start the promotion talk begins. Gio is on a fast track, but he is out of high school. Usually its a 3 year minimum for H.S. pitchers in the minor leagues. So I guess I was out of line...but it really wasnt directed at the Gio comment's as much as just the promotion talk as a whole. Yes people want him to be moved up but it isnt like he is moving up to AA or AAA or the majors... its just the step from Low A to High A.... I think with how he has totally dominated Low A he could handle that step pretty well. Hell B-Mac did better at High A than Low A last year.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) Maddux and Glavine have great control. Vazquez and Gagne have great stuff. Cotts has neither great control nor great stuff. No but unlike those first 3 who are starters.. Cotts is a RP... and with that fastball of his if he can control it he should be very successfull.

I personally like the Randa deal more, We wouldnt give up much for him some people think Crede has more value.... and he is fine defensively and knows the AL Central as well as anyone. Also it would allow us to either resign Konerko or get a big time player this off-season in either a trade or F/A. I think like someone said earlier Chavez is dodger bound if anywhere... They would prob take like Brazoban and that pitching prospect of theirs Edwin Jackons or whatevr his name is. -
We will only see K-Rod if we are losing in the 9th anyways... and if we do it could be good since he might be rusty... Because I dont think Shields will blow another save...
-
Yeah I bet Ozzie took some blame too, but its understandable to be mad at how we played... and I like how he is doing it after a win.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2005 -> 11:29 PM) This is gonna become the new Madden curse or the new Sports Illistrated curse.....uhhhhh. Awesome wallpaper but uhhhh lol. From now on, just make Timo Perez wallpapers... Can Timo actually become any worse? Maybe he will lose his clutchness
-
In my opinion it isnt really close, Uribe is a stud defensive SS while Ozuna is avg.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) WISH list, I want him so bad, we could then get rid of Kong and be set for along time. yes its a WISH list but it would be nice to keep it to things that might come true, because when you make a wish you hope it comes true... and with Tex it aint coming true... It would take so much to get him and than I still dont think Texas gives him up add in he is a borass client... it isnt a wish, its impossible. Thats why im sticking with Joe Randa as my primary guy... Dunn and Wagner are the wishes.
-
I didnt have cable until the begining of this season so I missed a lot b4... to make it worse the only tickets my dad would get for the family were cub ones....But now cable is mine and i actually went to a couple games last year.
-
I got really pissed, after Marte walked in the 2nd guy i drove to Subway and Dairy Queen to only find out that they were both closed... than went back home to see Everett K which made me pissed off even more to the point I really couldnt enjoy the Timo hit because i was so pissed off.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) I'll take it. I would gladly trade BMAC and Anderson for Tex, in a heartbeat. Tex isnt on the trade market and it would take more than that to get him and he is a boras client... so no... My wish list would be Joe Randa Billy Wagner and depending on what it would cost to bring him in Adam Dunn. but all in all ill take Joe Randa only and still be happy but a good bullpen arm would be nice too.
-
Konerko changes his swing all the time by himself, so Walker had nothing to do with that probably....I think Walker mostly works with Crede and he has obviously been our worse hitter.... although we really dont know whats going on....
-
do you think Garland will win over 20 game
GoodAsGould replied to soxman35's topic in Pale Hose Talk
depends how this offense starts producing... right now he is 8-2 through 10 starts... that leaves him 24-25 more starts to get 12 wins which means he only has to win half of those games... can he do it, sure, will he do it... im thinking he gets 18 wins. -
the main reason is because our starting pitching has been so consistent there hasnt been much need for a long relief man... for example cotts was apposed to be our long relief man and b4 ozzie started putting him in clutch situations he was getting barely any work at all.

QUOTE(rangercal @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) I'm telling you. I was there. I could not get a seat. Standing room only for a lot of us. Dont you need a ticket to get in? how could there be standing room for a lot of you go to the seat that your ticket is for.
-
yeah this was probably the hardest stretch of games we will have until that one, but I think we didnt do 2 bad. Especially if we can win these next 2 against the angels or at least 1.

W-S go check out Fabio Castro.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 30, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) The only similarity I see is the Puerto Rican Porn Mustache. I think that was his point

seriously, why watch a singing contest when you cant hear the words... that has to be the dumbest thing ever......

While the AL East is clearly the best division... Id say we are a much better division than the AL West... Seattle has shown to be a worse team than detroit and cleveland. and KC isnt really much worse than the A's hell they might be better until they trade Sweeney... they have had a lot of 1 run losses.
