My dad was a Vietnam veteran. It f***ed him up for the rest of his life. He never talked about it. Hell I didn't even find out what the hell he actually did their until after he died. (He was an Army Airborne Ranger by the way.) Anyway back to the point... After he came home he got into drugs and got into alcohol. He had a ton of psycholical problems. The war f***ed up his life and he never got it back on track. He lost his business to cancer that I'm sure he got being exposed to those damn chemicals like Agent Orange. I'm sorry for not jumping right on the military bandwagon because even though I respect our troops and I support anyone who joins the armed forces (I tried to join when I graduated high school but I couldn't pass the physical because of some health issues) I cannot support a war that just sends people off to fight just to find out later on that the whole issue was exaggerated and overblown in the first place. I'd rather not see things like what happened to my dad happen again. Personally I think John Kerry had every right to speak his mind after he got home. Also for you people who are quick to say that everything Kerry said back then was made up, how do we know that? We are always so quick to assume that America is always the good guys. Just go out and get yourself a few history books and you'll find out thats not always the case.

He was already super owned by the Expo's... Honestly I doubt they use him as a starter. I see him trying to find his way into some pen work.

All I know is that if anyone did that to my cat I'd strangle them myself

I agree. Plenty of stupidity to go around there

Am I the only one who wishes that we'd of elected John McCain...

Bush is just digging himself into the ground. I'm just so sick of his puppet presidency. If he had any decency he's resign as president and name Colin Powell as the acting president. Now there's a guy I could vote for

I'm sorry but that needs to be a felony! She should be thrown in Juvie and not let out until her 18th birthday. If she is ever caught with another cat or even inside a pet store then it's 5 years hard time. I had people who mistreat animals!

I doubt he gets over the 3 Million Mark myself. You have to figure three factors: Is he worth 3 Mil putting up solid 4th Starter numbers in the 5th spot? IMO, YES! Does he have the potential to do more and time to improve? He's 24, no question this is a yes! Who do we have to replace him? If any of you think that JR and KW are going to buy 2 solid starters on the free agent market then you are sadly mistaken. He would be replaced by Diaz more then likely if we got rid of him. As much as I like Diaz he couldn't carry Jon's jock at this stage of his career. Not all of our pitchers are going to be aces. Jon gives us a chance to win with almost every start he has. DJ spoke the truth when he said that Jon has been the most consistant at giving up only 3 or 4 runs a start. When your losing a good majority of those games then thats a sign that your offense needs help.

I'm sorry but I don't want to go anywhere near Pedro. He has Davis Wells written all over him {Shudder}. I'm sorry guys but we can do better!
-
No offense but you guys are just insane. First off we lost the game the moment Ozzie but that pathetic lineup on the field. Second Jon gave us 7 IP. Casey Blake was hot. So we're the rest of the Indians. If he would of had a quality start you guys would still be saying that it was his fault. We couldn't of bought a run with that pathetic lineup we had on the field. This was a lose-lose situation. Secondly if any of you listened to was DJ said, which happens to be a fact, Jon has been very consistant about only giving up 3 to 4 runs a game. To ship a guy out of town who's been doing that when we can't even find a 5th starter who can keep an ERA below 7 then I think you people need a reality check. He has solid 4th starter numbers. As a 5th Starter he would be among the tops in all of baseball. Not all major league teams have 5 aces! GET OVER IT!

The economy is in recovery though :puke

Can't they just stick to Cosmo

That has to be the most bizarre thing i've ever seen. It's almost like they are trying to find a reason to be driven out of business. Does anyone know what brand of candy this came in? I feel a boycott coming on...

I'm just shocked he got through... I know that there is some GM who was taking a nap that is getting chewed out right now. Honestly I like Garland as a 4th stater. I don't want to give him up right now. Especially with the uncertainty about Garcia and the 5th starter. I don't want to have to purchase 3 solid pitchers instead of just one.
-
This scares the hell out of me. My entire basis for optimism in 05' is Buherle, Garcia, Contreras, and Garland.... If Garcia is gone we are so screwed
-
Now we are in sole position of Second Place. First Place here we come

It's too bad they cancelled jackass on MTV or we'd see them act this out

I thought my twin brother annoyed me now. Just imagine how bad it would be if he was attached to me. He's make me go to cubs games

What a moron. Pretty sickening filming people without their consent. Hell I don't even like being filmed if i'm walking down the street.

Just to throw a possible scenario out there for you guys... Do you think that the Cards might deal us Reggie Sanders in the offseason now that Larry Walker is with their team? I think that Reggie would be a good fit for us, he's got some power, hits for reasonably good average, and is a solid defense player. Plus from whatever i've heard about him he's a class act and a great clubhouse guy. He might come cheaper because they already have Walker.
-
We also have two Carlos Lee's
-
Sorry Jim put I can't agree with you there. I see Gload as a big part of the 05 team. He's a cheap utility guy. He has a great glove at 1B and LF, he's been ok in RF. He's also been our most consistant pinch hitter off the bench. Good bench players are hard to come by, especially at his price.
-
Well this can't be a shock to anyone. Democrats are more liberal and open minded so they are more willing to experiment and try new things. Republicians fear change, are repressed, and more religious.

That is such BS... More like she was intrigued by his wealth and connections. rolleyeyes.gif
