  1. I think that they are acticipating in there being a payroll increase because of the increased attendance. Myself i'm not holding my breath.
  2. I'm just glad Maggs didn't sign that big deal when he had the chance. Could you imagine if Maggs had signed that and it really did turn out to be a career ender... We would of been totally screwed!
  3. Nothing like turning the clock back two weeks to remind us how far we have fallen again rolleyeyes.gif
  4. Well there's no real reason to bench him now. Give him the rest of the year to show what he can do. I'd much rather see Joe hitting .230 the rest of the year then Jose hitting .230 the rest of the year. This is the time for Ozzie to put Joe at 3B, Juan at SS, and Willie at 2B. That is more then likely the starting infield for next season and to be honest I wouldn't mind seeing what they could do. It's not like we are going to win the division if Joe isn't in there. As for in the offseason I would be lying if I said that I wouldn't rather the Sox got a big time player like Beltre, but i'm also realistic and I know that I'd rather fill that hole in RF. We have to remember that we are a small market club and we can't afford to have a huge payroll. We can survive with Crede at 3B if he is our 7th/8th hitter. He would have to bust his butt to get his average over .250 for next season though.
  5. We actually need a few things. We need to get a power hitting RF. I think their are a few of those we can get. After that we need a #2 quality starter That would bump Contreas to #4 and Garland to #5. That is a sick rotation there.
  6. No offense but some of you people are just nuts. Willie Harris was hitting well over .300 when playing 2B everyday. He was bunting and being agressive on the basepaths. He climbed as Juan "Swing for the Fences" Uribe continued to fall like a rock. He got benched for making one mistake while Juan stunk up the position and could do no wrong. The sad fact is that this is Ozzie's fault. All Willie needs is to be assured that he will not lose his job to that idiot Uribe and that he can relax again like he was in the begining of the year and he will be fine. Sadly Ozzie seems to refuse to admit that because it would be admitting that he made a mistake. Willie shouldn't have to live in fear of having to be twice as good as Uribe to avoid being benched. Especially when Uribe is a worthless headcase. Ok have to vent on that... GO SOX! By the way I hope that Ozzie keeps Willie in the 9 hole for awhile. It will be a way for him to slowly build his confidence back up in a low pressure spot in the lineup.
  7. Not only that but there should be better communication between him and Ozzie then with him and Torrie. Personally I hope you guys don't have to high of expectations for him. I expect him to be a decent 3rd/4th starter. Just keep us in the games and get us quality outs. If he allows 3 runs per game for the rest of the year then I would be happy with him
  8. Crede has been alot better lately and i'll take that. He's head and shoulders above Uribe right. Joe will be fine...
  9. That is the funniest thing i've read in weeks
  10. Nothing like getting inside a pitchers head like that. We need to get back into this race. Do you guys think that we can sweep KC?
  11. I'm just glad that we got rid of that chump Elo. I'm going to enjoy seeing that punk give up 6 runs a game for the Yankees (of course knowing the Yanks he will still win 20 games... } I just wish that we could of gotten rid of Shoey and brought Diaz up. If he doesn't like it put his ass on waviers and hope someones dumb enough to take him.
  12. No offense but that is insane. Barring any free agent signing our Rotation in 05' is: Buherle, Garcia, Garland, Contreras, and Diaz {The reason I put Garland ahead in the rotation is that it seperates the hard throwers and the finesse guys } I don't know about you but that looks pretty damn good to me. Diaz deserves to be given a shot next year, especially after we gave so many chances to Danny Wright.
  13. I knew that is was only a matter of time. Ben Davis = My Hero
  14. Yes I honestly would feel like we could still win it. We have the talent in Borch stays out of the starting lineup and Perez starts. I'm talking about Burke and Rowand getting on base for hits. I refuse to fault Willie. It's hard enough to lay down a bunt especially after the two guys ahead of you did it already. Seriously i'm not going to lose my passion for this team.
  15. I have a dumb ? Does a team have to be affiliated with a team to keep playing in the IL, PCL, or other minor league system? Could they be unaffiliated and still remain in the League or would they have to move to an indepentant league...? Plus my suggestion is to move our AAA team to Gary. They have the RailCats...
  16. I don't mind Borchard so much because he's all we have. What cost us this game was once again Ozzie's lineup making. There is no situation where Joe Borchard should of been hitting ahead of Joe Crede. At least Crede knows how to connect with a fly ball. Not to mention that Ozzie also should of taken Marte out of the game once in became obvious that he didn't have his good stuff. Politte hasn't been that overworked. Still the season isn't over and we will be in the hunt till the end.
  17. Good to see someone else still has a grip on reality. This season isn't over yet
  18. No I wanted to fire Ozzie for not putting AROW at the top of the order. AROW at the top of the order is the logical choice too.
  19. The twins lost too... The season is NOT OVER! So Borchard screwed up again. There is a reason that he wasn't supposed to be on the roster at the beginning of the year. We will get another bat somehow and everything will be fine. I'm not about too call the season over this. I wasn't even angry when I saw the game because I saw alot of positives today. Aaron Rowand once again showed that he can get it done at the top of the order. We showed that we can actually bunt in situations and make things happen. Finally we were able to rally and tie the game. Marte lost the lead but we can't win em all. The season isn't over. Get a grip!
  20. This is all just so confusing to me. I don't get why we would get nothing in return all so we can keep the Twins from trading for the next Todd Ritche..
  21. Shingo has been a God send to this team. Without Shingo this team goes from being a contending team to more then likely somewhere in front of Kansas City. Without him the only too decent bullpen arms become Marte and Politte. Still Shingo!
