  1. I don't get all of these guys judging Diaz on a few starts he had when he was jerked around. The guy had a dominating year at AAA. The guy has talent and either out of the pen or maybe even beating out Grilli for a rotation spot the kid will be a big part of 05' in some form.
  2. I still cream my pants at the thought of having Kendall on this team. He fills so many holes on this team all in once. He'll maybe he can ever DH on the days he doesn't catch (Thomas instead of Gload at 1B those games maybe.)
  3. Well at least if there is one bright spot about this it's that the cubs games are running on the same network. Thus there will be millions of screaming cubbie fans from iowa and the outlying areas screaming for it along with us. At least they are finally good for something... :fthecubs
  4. Damn I've got to start watching more public access...
  5. First off I never personally attacked anyone. I was pretty depressed about Bush winning. What i'm assuming your refering to is the comment I made about Republican's using tactics to take advantage of the more gullable among us, which I still agree with. However no matter how stupid you think some of my posts were I never once made a direct personal attack to anyone at Sox talk. Also I didn't mean to capitalize vanilla and that was an honest typo. I meant nothing racial by it at all. I just meant that it was a plain, ordinary, yada yada yada. By the way my dad was a Vietnam vet. He was never the same when he came back. Forgive me for not being overly excited about us sending more American kids to a path of being screwed up for the rest of their lives.
  6. No to Johnson. I'm still hoping we can get more speed at 1B. As for Rauch I'm suprised we were ever able to get Everett for him. Nothing special about a 6'11 pitcher who can barely crack 92 MPH on the gun...
  7. My favorite is the Turkey and the stuffing when it's made inside the bird (like my mom makes it). I miss living at home! Seriously though fried turkey is just nasty to me. I mean we don't eat enough fried s*** we have to add turkey to it... :puke
  8. Ohh well... You knew they had to find the most Vanilla, least offensive guy they could possibly find...
  9. I think Timo is going to be a big part of our team as a 4th outfielder. I mean the guy is a solid pinch hitter and he did well with runners on base. I wouldn't put him anywhere near the starting lineup though.
  10. I can't read the entire thread so I'll just ask it here: How is his baserunning speed... Is he faster then Paulie... I mean if we are going to get another 1B I don't want another guy that we have to pinch run for in the late innings.
  11. At least he was molesting girls... Seriously thought there is a special place in hell for people like this. They should be castrated.
  12. Your missing the problem. If we get RJ then there is no new offense talented to help. No free agents. No money left! I mean it's like you expect JR to raise the payroll to 90 Mil if we sign RJ (IT'S NOT HAPPENING PEOPLE)! If we had a huge payroll I would love it. Hell I'd be the first in line. But i'm not going to get a 40+ year old pitcher and not be able to improve any other aspect of our team.
  13. JR sees the value. RJ will not turn this team into a winner. It will just bring back the revolving door 5th slot and hurt our offense for next year and in the future. RJ = Pipe Dream RJ along with JR signing anyone else (which would max out our payroll even trading away konerko)= When hell freezes over. Plus 40+ year olds have been known to get hurt. If something happened to him god forbid we turn from a second, third place team to a last place team. Like I said before if we had the Cubs pay roll I'd say get him. With our payroll. NO WAY IN HELL!
  14. Well actually looking for him would have been a good start...
  15. I just want a solid rotation 1-5. If they do trade Garland I want them to be damn ready to replace him (and Grilli ain't it :puke ) Clement is fine with me.
  16. Plus Bin Ladin thrives on the stereotype of the ignorant American. As long as Bush is in office he has new terrorists lined up around the block to join him. The way or terror becomes useless when all you do is make more then you ever started with in the first place.
  17. The real problem is that Bin Ladin needed Bush to win and the gullible portion of America bought right into it. With Bush in office he was no worries about being captured because with Bush he isn't a top priority (and he has even said so himself) while with Kerry he would of been a priority and he would of had someone on his ass hunting him. But as long as we give Bin Ladin what he wanted thats all that counts.
  18. Not a guaruntee but after doing it the last three years without any health problems he isn't likely to get much worse. In fact if anything he is going to improve. If we traded him to a national league team (or an AL team with a pitchers park) I wager you he would be a 20 game winner within 2 years and we will be b****ing because kw gave him up for too little. If we want a better pitching staff there is a simplier solution. MOVE THE DAMN FENCES BACK. Could you imagine how good Buherle's numbers would have been had we not played in a god damn lauching pad. Or Garcia.
  19. Also I am totally in favor of a trade of Garland to the pirates for Kendall if it means we get Kip Wells or another decent major league pitcher in return. He might not be as solid or have as good a chance of having a 200 IP year but at least we would have a decent #5 back and it would give us Kendall (who would be way more important to this team then Johnson would ever be).
  20. Likewise it's hard for me to understand where you guys are coming from? Are we going to spend any decent amount of money? No way in hell (Sadly). Lets say we sign RJ, give up Garland, Konerko, and some other offensive player and prospect (Arizona doesn't want just Konerko). We have to pay RJ 16 Mil a year. Thats our budget. All of it. No bullpen improvment. No more offense improvment. That leaves Grilli in the rotation who I would venture to say if we gave him all year if might have 2 wins maybe. The best case scenario would be 16 Wins and even that if doubtful. That also leaves fat ass Carl in RF. And who the hell becomes the new Ross Gload off the bench if he's at 1B. Now lets say we got hurt. Thats 16 Mil we are spending for a 40+ year old pitcher to sit on the bench. While this we would have a rotation that had Diaz and Grilll :puke. I am in no way Garlands boy. I'm just not stupid enough to think we could get someone better for the money he's making. It's about money and some of us fans realize that we are a small market team. If we had the Yankees pay roll then I would say go for it. If we even had the god damn cubs payroll i'd say go for it. With our pay roll. NO WAY IN HELL! Too much of a gamble.
  21. Johnson is a mistake. It's an excuse to increase ticket sales while making us worse secretly. We give up Garland and half our offense. End up with Grilli who will lose about 8 in a row until Ozzie wakes up and brings up to cavalcade of nobodies. We will end up in second place, again. Of course all this could be avoid if we just signed a free agent for 7-8 Mil a year instead of the 16 RJ would cost for the same amount of wins without having to give up Garland (Which ruins any chance of having the best 1-5 in baseball). I can just pray that RJ doesn't want to come here anyway
  22. I'd just like the people who think we are overpaying to list me the pitchers who we could sign for under 3.4 Mil who has pitched close to 200 IP the last three years and had around 12 wins and an average ERA who is almost guarunteed to at least put up similar numbers again. I doubt you can think of any. Some people need to just wake up. He is already a decent #3 starter and among some of the better #4 starters in the league. To complain that he's not another Mark Buherle is just insane.
  23. I think it would be a good idea to pick him up if the cubs pass. Nothing wrong with signing him even if we do pick up a better arm in the pen. He can push Adkins and Diaz for a bullpen slot.
  24. Ohh no, I have to redraw up those kidnapping Santana plans...
  25. I don't think the Bulls are as terrible as they seem but they need to wake up and do something worth while.
