  1. Oh...my...gawd... For the love of all that's holy, Kate...TEACH ME THE DOUGIE!
  2. If the Tigers don't improve their defense, they are going to be in trouble. Already given up 10 unearned runs. That defense is just horrible.
  3. Mmmm...Kings/Yotes. That sounds...horrible.
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) Cowley seemed to like me. So that probably isn't a good thing. Who doesn't like you...? /Seinfeld
  5. As the father of young kids...if they see it, they want it. And they don't always understand the concept of "Hey, it's cheaper down the street so you are going to have to wait to walk down there and wait in another line. Oh, and by they way, they may not have that exact same thing." Sometimes...if you aren't in the mood for an absolute meltdown...you just give in and enjoy the memory. Honestly, if I'm taking my kid(s) to the game, I'm not thinking about how much things cost. It's the experience. If it's just me or me and my wife or me and some friends, yeah, I'm not buying anything there.
  6. I call it the "I'm Not Getting Any" Series...since my wife is a Sawx fan from CT. Go You White Sox!
  7. Peverly has had a short fuse this year. And he's been a whiny b****.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 01:20 PM) I'd say the 3 names who are most in danger of being traded are Sharp, Hjalmarsson and Stalberg. I would agree on those three. Possibly Kane, but I think Stan would have to be blown out of the water for that to happen. And Rock, I can't believe you think Seabrook is that bad. He was the most consistent d-man this year. Was there anything specific you saw?
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) I'd prefer to not waste any more years with a loaded team in front of a crap goalie. The last two seasons have been completely wasted. Last year wasting our time with Marty Turco's corpse and this year with the revolving door of suck have been inexcusable. Your point was we should give Crawford more time. My point was we've had Crawford for 9 f***ing years, and that's enough time. Alright...I just looked at Crawford's statistics since 2000. I concede. he isn't getting better. In fact, he hasn't improved at all. Yikes. I concede.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) Or he can become the next Brian Elliott or Mike Smith. Elliott was nearly the worst goalie in hockey last season, now he's almost a Vezina candidate. Two years ago, Smith was battling Huet & Khabi for worst in the league, now look at him. According to Steve...there's absolutely no chance of that.
  11. Remember Mike Smith? The guy who just stood on his head and had a Vezina-like season? At one time...he sucked. So, maybe Crawford needs a different goalie coach...or just needs to find that one thing...or not. But it's too early to give up on him.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 08:15 AM) So on thursday, all four chicago teams lost their games. Then last night, all four teams won their games. I know that the last time they all lost on the same day was a while ago, so I am guessing winning them all on the same day is probably not a common occurrence either. Either way, hell of a day in Chicago sports yesterday. Perfect game, playoff OT win, Bulls Magic number moves to 1, and Cubs snap a six game losing streak(snicker) Even more strange...when all four Chicago teams lost, the Kardashians were in town. When all four teams won...no Kardashians. Coincidence? I think not.
  13. At least Shaw will go to the net on a shot from the point. Hopefully the Hawks keep playing like they did in Game 5. Just shoot towards the net. With Shaw back, he can just "get in the way." Also, other than the two softies in OT...the 'hawks have 12 goals...the 'yotes? 13. Crawford is doing a pretty good job, but to win a SC, your goalie needs to steal a game or two. Crow hasn't shown that ability, yet.
  14. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 11:43 AM) I'm not sure I can think of a more unfair way of doing it, than what you just suggested. lol. It is unfair...and extreme. I know it won't happen, but just think of the ramifications. If the league really wanted to do away with hits like that...boarding, targeting the head...this would be an incredibly extreme method, but probably pretty damn effective in the long run.
  15. According to Chris Kuc's twitter...Torres' hearing in person. Should be more than 5 games. Also, if they really want to stop players/teams from dirty hits, suspend the player AND the opposing player. If Hossa is out for 5 games, the Coyotes 2nd line RW is ALSO out 5 games. That'll end it quick. (yes, I know that will never happen)
  16. Any bets on if Shaw gets suspended? I say no, just a hefty fine that he will "pay" with help from the team.
  17. I rarely agree with Rosenbloom...but he is definitely right on. This borders assault. It was outside of any kind of hockey play. Shanahan and the NHL should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. And Weber better watch his back in the next game.
  18. When can we start the "EXTEND MANTO" thread?
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 09:58 AM) It's too late to be an April Fool's joke, isn't it? Supposedly...he was throwing 93-94 in front of Coop. Todd Ritchie can't be too far behind.
  20. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 09:01 AM) Not a lot of work will be done today. Can't wait, I'm optimistic. No distractions, just play and see what happens. This is why I'm excited...there's no pressure. They can just play and have fun. (I'm talking to you Alex Rios) Plus, no KW/Ozzie distractions. Just go out and play. GO YOU WHITE SOX!
  21. The excerpt below if from Doug Smith...the former hockey player that the movie "Goon" is based on. It's an excellent article on ESPN/Grantland...here's an excerpt:
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 07:55 AM) The Tigers have 2 MVP candidates sitting at the heart of their order. It's fine to overrate them right now. IF someone wants to beat them...they actually have to stand up and beat them. If any one of their top players go down...they are in trouble. Also...if I were an opposing manager, i would tell my entire team to chop down on the ball and let that horrific infield try to get me out. Yikes. That is not a good defensive team.
  23. Didn't Squires also play 3B? One of the only lefties to play there? Also the Hawk-inspired Fisk in LF? Just throwing some things out there...
  24. Not sure if this was posted...but it's a good article about Groce from Jon Greenberg (an Ohio alum): Greenberg on Groce
