Do they include Jews as a minority in Texas? If they do, I'm sorry, fellas.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) he backs up Eddings. Patrick is obviously furious

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) I believe he also was hit in game 1 by a foul ball in the later innings that looked like it hurt quite a bit. He got hit on the top of the foot, if I remember correctly. I'm guessing it's all of the above, plus to give him a bit of a blow. but, he didn't want to take him out of the lineup completely because, except for yesterday, he was tearing the cover off the ball. It doesn't matter because the White Sox won, the LAAoA lost...and now we can take 3 of 5 and move on.

I don't feel like reading 8 pages of it. But, to me, the bottom line is, catch or bounce, you still have to keep playing. You have to keep Ozuna from stealing second and you have to keep Crede from getting the game winning run. Escobar and the Angels didn't do that, game over. Bad/borderline calls are made all the time, especially in the playoffs when the umps are watching EVERYTHING more closely (see Cano, Robinson), but you can't stop playing.

I wonder if he'd give the Sox a hometown discount at all? or take deferred money? If he will, I bet he'll come back to the Sox. If he wants it all now, he gawn.

QUOTE(KansasSoxFan @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) Anybody remember the Smurfs from 80s Saturday morning TV? I found this pretty humorous, although the issue of third world child soldiers is serious enough that I do feel a little guilty laughing about this article. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/10/10/smurf_village_razed/ I say...about damn time those Smurfs got what was coming to them. I mean, c'mon...99 Smurfs and 1 Smurfette. Something veeeeeeery funny was going on there.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) The intent of this thread and the result of this thread are hilarious. I'm sorry, what were we talking about?

Well, you better cotton to the fact that your extended family sucks. BTW...thanks Tex, now I've got that damn Jack Jones in my head. Jerk.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) As for the second point, and all those proponents of Genesism. . . I sure hope they're fans of the Proponents of the Peter Gabriel incarnation and not that Phil Collins drek. You got a problem with Mike and the Mechanics?

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) LMAO.. one of my employees said "get into the Angels locker room and cough on all of them".. If you can get into the Angels locker room, instead of coughing on them, you should lick their bats and their gum, sneeze on their chew, and spit on the crotches of their unis. That will make sure to get them sick!!! Notice I didn't say lick the crotches...I wouldn't demean you like that.

National Anthem and Starting Introduction

I was lucky enough to be working the final Blackhawks regular season and playoff games at Chicago Stadium. It was soooo loud, the noise didn't even sound like cheering anymore...it was just static. And yes, I started crying. Both times. And just did again...thanks ChiSoxFan. (bastard ) -
I know just the thing that will make you feel better... A White Sox Winner AND A kiss from Neal Cotts. Although, I'm assuming your fever will go up instead of down after the kiss.

I'm starting to believe that (except for Kotex Boy) most of these writers are just regurgitating what is common knowledge for anyone outside of the Chicagoland area. I mean, c'mon, I moved to Texas and people automatically assume I'm a Cubs fan, Wrigley is a shrine, and Comiskey is located somewhere between the South Side of Chicago and South Central. I wouldn't take the negative from the article seriously...

Here's the solution: Don't pay the $25 fee? Fine. Fire at your house? We'll put it out, but since you didn't pay for the "insurance," we will bill you for services rendered. They do it for ambulance service...why not fire service. But standing around and watching it burn is ridiculous.

You better send your parents something nice for Valentine's Day, if you know what I'm sayin'? (Wink, wink) 7(Happy Birthday)

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) Yeah, nothing better than getting the guy who signs the national anthem for Cubs games to come and sing the anthem for one of the bigger games in Sox history. He also has done them for White Sox games. And Blackhawks games (which would resonate with White Sox fans). And Wolves games. And Bulls games. See what I'm saying? He's a local celebrity, a gunshot survivor and a damn good singer. -
I wouldn't use his game 3 performance as an indicator. Some of his pitches woulda been called strikes on any other day. You saw Ozzie's reactions later. I'm tellin' ya, Marte got hosed (in that game).

You want to get the crowd going? Two words: Wayne Messmer. Best. National Anthem Singer. Ever. -
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 09:19 AM) It didn't mean the thuderstix weren't lame! I didn't bang 'em...but I'm for all showings of support. tonight I'm going to wear Thunder Pants...wait till you see those in action. Just don't wear the Thunder Thong. We need to keep fans at the game.

From Coach Norman Dale, Hoosiers: There's a, um tradition in tournament play- not talk about the next step until you've climbed the one in front of you. I'm sure going to the [World Series] is beyond your wildest dreams, so let's just keep it right there. Edit mine.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 05:42 PM) Holly has or had braces and Bob Ryan was suspended for saying he wanted to smack Jason Kidd's wife.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Which leads me to this....what did Bob Ryan or Michael Holly have to say about the Red Sox getting swept? Well, Michael Holly got his jaw wired shut and Bob Ryan smacked him.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 05:19 PM) R.Justice of the Houston Chronicle and TK were both whining if the Yankees do not win tonight they should move Angels/White Sox to HSN network because no one will watch. TK cannot accept the fact Red Sox/Yankees will not happen.Justice claims Angels are best team in AL. I laugh at the fact White sox are so disrespected on to the World Series :sleep

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) 27 hours and 50 minutes to be exact. Does anyone know anyone at O'Hare or Midway? Maybe we can "lose" a teams luggage? Perhaps a bus driver? They can get "lost" on the way to the team hotel?
