QUOTE (chwhtsox @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 12:06 PM) I'm going back to Vegas January 30th...you'll find me at O'Sheas. O's***ty's is my favorite place!
  5. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 02:48 PM) Their careers are not comparable at all. DeRosa was a utility player for the first few years of his career. It wasn't until he had a chance to play regularly back in '06 that he started to show what he's capable of doing. Teahen has been a regular for four or five years now, and just one look at his stats and all you see is less than average production everywhere you look. I would be ok with having Teahen around in a utility player capacity, given he can at least get by at a lot of different positions. But the thought of watching him get 500+ at bats and turning in the kind of production he has thus far in his career makes me sick - and we have three years of it now coming our way! Oy! I mean, believe me - I hope I'm wrong about this and that he breaks out and is a productive player for us. But he's done nothing to date to even remotely convince me that is going to happen. Teahen has basically been utility. Yes, he has played full seasons, but at different positions. It's a slightly below to even market deal for a player with potential who needed a change of scenery. Really folks, we have seen this time and time again from the White Sox, when is it going to sink in that this the organizations's M.O.
  6. Y'know, you coulda waited until you got to "Z" in the other thread. Now, I'm looking for closure.
  7. Xander was one of the names we considered for our son...and then we chose something else that wouldn't get him beat up.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 02:49 PM) I loved Kaner calling Toews "Captain Serious" And saying he's glad he doesn't have to sit next to him. That was classic. This team should be good for the next 5 years (if the organ-I-zation can develop some of that talent in the minors).
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 10:37 AM) Raul still has a couple of years left in him as a DH. Just not the type of year he had last year. Fixed that for ya. I don't think he has it in him anymore to play the field. Still got a good bat, though.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) Well, really, they are kinda right. ISU should not be selected to a higher level bowl game than Mizzou, this season. That would be absurd. I mean, I'd love it for ISU, but its not really very fair. Iowa State is often an afterthought to the conference (in football) anyway, given the school's history of just not being very good, and not having the type of fan draw that some of the other schools have. Plus, ISU has more stringent academic standards than most if not all of the conference, which tends to handicap them, and the conference may not like that ISU is "different" that way. And that's not saying much!
  11. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 10:31 PM) KU wins by 50 something, including a 36-0 run at one point. Xavier a.k.a. future player of NCAA tourney with 18. He is just amazing! KU goes to UCLA on Sunday to kick some Bruin ass. Can you at least say they won by 50 something against Alcorn State? I mean, really? I know you went there and are a big fan, but winning by 50 against Alcorn vs. winning by 50 against a Big 12 or quality opponent are two ENTIRELY different things.
  12. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 10:32 PM) Link Wray was damn near 70 in this video. He was cool as hell. THAT'S rock n' roll!

  20. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 10:43 PM) Hopefully we do see that as Jim Miller was saying. I want to see if the Bears have some sort of future now. The Gilberts, Iglasias, Moores, etc.. all need to play and I wanna see Chris Williams move back to his original position (aka the area he was drafted at) of LT. Hell even freaking Omiyale who is a natural RT I believe to see if he sucks less. We need to see these guys on the field more. BTW I dunno what it is about Vince Young, but that guy keeps winning games when he's at QB. Titans went from 0-6 to now I believe 5-6. Bears could take lessons sometime. Right now, there is no pressure on Vince Young. The season was "over" when they put him in to replace Collins. I am a big VY fan as I saw his whole career while I was in Austin, but lets wait and see before we anoint him a "good to great" quarterback. Lets see when the games mean more than going from 0 wins to 5 wins in a lost season.
  21. Not going to get into an argument here, but here are my qualifications: A clear and definitive winner and loser by points, time, goals, what have you. Anything subjective, like gymnastics, ice skating/dancing, diving...not a sport. Athletic activity, yes. There are exceptions though, poker, clear winner, not a sport.
  22. QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 07:12 AM) Chicago, number 3 on my list, will not make the ST top 50. Egad, Tex, you are old.
