  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) A game where the Sox score 8 runs, followed by a game where they get 1 hit. This team is as consistently inconsistent as it has ever been. Yeah...this wasn't the Sox not hitting as much as it was Ricky Romero pitching lights out. And I'm so glad Rios hit that homer, even though we lost. Hopefully this good series will propel him through the rest of the year.
  2. On the Today Show this morning, they were saying that the Polish President had a history of pushing his pilots to fly in harsh conditions...actually leading to some arguments. They didn't say that's what happened here, but now that the Black Box has been found, we'll see what happened. Horrible, horrible day for Poland.
  3. "He's really most sincerely dead." One of the last remaining Munchkins from the Wizard of Oz: The coroner - Meinhardt Raabe. RIP
  4. I'm hoping for Judge Judy. If the Supreme Court needs anything...it's a street-tough, no-nonsense television judge. /green
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) Eating milk sounds difficult. Not if done correctly.
  6. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 07:45 AM) I do a mixture. In an oversized container I have Total Raisin Bran (for the Health), Rice Krispies(For the crunch), and Multi-grain Cheerios (Adds a little bit of sweetness along with the lightly sugared raisins from the raisin bran.) Shake it all up, and you get "Bran-isp-ios" Sounds nuts, but it's really quite good! That's WAAAAY too much work for a bowl of cereal. 1) Pour cereal in bowl. 2) Pour milk in bowl (or Old Style). 3) Eat cereal and milk. 4) Enjoy!
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:20 PM) I'm not saying people can't if they don't want to, I personally would not though. I watch sports figures because I like them, not because I think they're really good at what they do. I think Barry Bonds is a jagoff, so despite his Hall of Fame skills, I'll always root against him. Ditto for A-Rod, Clemens, McGwire, etc. Clearly I don't know professionals personally, but the perception of them makes me want to root for/against them. To me I just think it's funny to have a guy that most people think is morally reprehensible be applauded like he's an idol. I know what he did wasn't that bad on the scale of bad things, but still. I have a feeling the reception would be quite different at a normal tournament. And I think he knew that, and that's why he chose to come back so early. And it's not a surprise that there are a ton of reports coming out that his wife (the person he's supposedly doing everything humanly possible to win back) is pissed about him coming back so soon. Career>family was basically his choice, just another thing that makes me think he’s a giant douche. * *Of course that's assuming those reports are true, which they may or may not be. Golf and life are two different things. Golf is his job. It's what he does for a living. If we knew the dark underbellies of many of the stars/athletes/etc. that we like or look up to...we probably would never go to a game or see a movie again.
  8. Rice Krispies, Cheerios, Raisin Bran...and if I'm bad...Frosted Flakes.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) so many defensive lapses is what happened. This f***ing team. ugh. Buff should be on the bench for the next game for that idiocracy. That was just plain stupid.
  10. Vote time! Co-worker bought Sox tickets and REALLY wants to see Peavy pitch. His date's Dad gave her 'hawks tickets just in case Sox game rains out. Which should he choose?
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 01:11 PM) I'd want to punch this pitcher in the face if I were a hitter. Weird as hell. I also don't see how it really helps him other than the fact that it might rattle guys the first few times they see it. Maybe he was foolin' around one day, tried it and started throwing better? It's like pre-AB rituals. Superstitions. If it works for him, it works for him. Look at some previous pitchers that had strange motions (with varying degrees of success): Tiant, Valenzuela, Nomo, Fetters....
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) I hope Q doesnt put Huet back in there tonight cause its a back-to-back. f*** the frenchie's confidence, Niemi is rolling, and we need to keep him going for the run to the Cup. I hope Niemi gets a break before the playoffs...
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) The Hawks will get the #1 seed as I understand it if they win out since they'd be tied for points and have more wins than San Jose, so it'd be nice if they just go ahead and do that, although it is a tall task. Hopefully Niemi's play recently is not a mirage, because he's been outstanding, and they'll obviously need him to continue to be for the next several weeks if they want to reach their goals. Don't you mean...One Goal.
  14. QUOTE (WCSox @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) Yep. I keep reminding myself that it was the sorry-ass Indians in the visitor's dugout. But, man, the Sox looked like they could've hung with anybody today. Beat the teams you are supposed to beat.... Just sayin'. Great day! Andy the Clown would be proud!
  15. Since some people are trying to compare the 2010 team with 2005... Mark pitches a gem...1-0.
  16. This will be the 38th Opening Day in which I will not be in attendance. Nevertheless...
  17. My suggestion: "You realized you just married all the meatheads on SoxTalk, don't cha?" Congrats!
  18. One of my guilty pleasure movies is...Spice World. I feel so ashamed.
  19. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) Okay, I'll rephrase it as the "four perimeter player" lineup. 6'5" is fairly small as a power forward, though it's easier to get away with when your point guard is averaging 9 rebounds. Without Turner, I would think a lineup with Sullinger and either Thomas or Lauderdale makes a lot of sense, though if you don't think Buford, Diebler and/or Lighty can handle the ball-handling I understand it. They've got a lot more options with the improved depth, though at least to me it seems like talent-wise their best lineup is Buford/Diebler/Lighty/Thomas/Sullinger. Yeah, I'm assuming Turner declares, that'd be a ridiculous team if he somehow doesn't. Turner just got AP player of the year...his stock will never be higher...he gawn.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) Make that 30-1-1 That is a great victory. Important victory for the 'hawks and Niemi, too. That save on Parise (I think) was absolutely incredible. The strength and flexibility it took was amazing.
  21. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) Still a lot of "if's" for my liking.... It's Spring Training...every team has "ifs."
  22. I earn money for me...not you. Wait, am I buying health insurance?
  23. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 10:00 AM) I'm just here because I like to argue, I don't care if you're democrat or republican...I'll find something to argue about. Wait, you guys were talking about HUGO Chavez? I thought we were talking about ERIC Chavez.
