QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 03:11 PM) Xylene would likely then be a word unusable in this thread, as it derives from the Greek word for wood. This group of solvents are found in wood tar so the Greeks seem to have known a thing or two about a thing or two. You know too much for your own good...so for the good of all human beings...self-lobotomize!

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 11:17 AM) So chances are the deals are already done. But does that mean the 'hawks have to trade someone before they announce? And for all of you worried about chemistry, if there are people like that out there...the 'hawks traded Wiz last year and still did pretty well. I don't think Wiz would have gotten them to the Stanley Cup Finals, but....

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 18, 2009 -> 04:55 PM) Those god damn Angles do make alot of sense. I mean they just merit adjusting at times.. with them being all angle-like about it. Sometimes it pisses me off how off those angles are at times myself. You're so obtuse.

Executions
Just thinking about it...I'd probably want the f'er executed. But, I think if I had a choice, it would be to wake up early, go to the prison, beat the guy to the edge of death, fix him up, repeat.

TV Talking Heads
O'Reilly and Olbermann have egos large enough to convince themselves that what they are saying is true. And all news is opinion because we, as humans, are incapable of keeping our feelings out of every story, every day, every month, every year. Plus, even if we, as humans, could do that. Other humans hear what they want to hear. All it takes is one different verbal inflection and pa-POW! Here come the freaks out of the woodwork to attack. One of the most interesting things I learned while in broadcast journalism was to write your stories as if everyone had a 6th grade education. Um...what the hell did we know in 6th grade? Nothing. What did we think we knew? Everything. This is why I stopped watching news. I'd rather take a crap in a box and see what that might do.

Cartographer. Always loved maps. Still do. Live action sports director...Jim Angio, Arne Harris, etc. Except someone LITERALLY has to die to get that job. All-around lazy bum...if I could get paid for this, I'd be a friggin' gazillionaire.

Official 2009-2010 NFL Thread
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 9, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) Jeff Fisher has six 10-win seasons in 16 years of coaching. He's had one good playoff run. He's won a division 4 times. His average season is 9-7. He doesn't really have a very good track record considering he's coached in the league for 16 years. True, but besides Belichick, who's been better for as long? I can only think of Andy Reid off the top of my head.

Official 2009-2010 NFL Thread
Just my .02. Forget the Tampa 2 or whatever it's morphed into. Forget the playcalling. Forget the dumb penalties. Forget that the d-line has disappeared from the first couple of weeks of the season. What really gets my goat is how unprepared this team looks. A well-prepared team adjusts on the fly, not during time-outs, not during half-time, not in mop-up time. A well-prepared team doesn't get to this point, doesn't get beaten by 35 points only to look like crap again the following week. A well-prepared team doesn't get run over by a team that can't run. And that's why it's time for Lovie to go. He is being out-coached before the game even starts.
