It's very short-sighted. And really, there are too many factors that go into a players "worth." I mean, at the time, Alex Rodriguez was the best player in baseball. One can argue that he still is. And he's had some pretty decent seasons...but no championships. Is that how a players' worth is measured? Butts in the seats? ERA/OPS? BABIP? I mean, there are WAY too many factors and no good way to determine it. So, unless you sign someone like Dewayne Wise to a $10 million/year contract or Jake Peavy to the league minimum...everyone is going to have their own way of measuring.

Just thought of my White Sox one: Mike Cameron hits 4 home runs. I believe that was it for Parque AND the last time Jon Rauch pitched for the Sox as that was the cab game. Plus, I was lucky enough to be in a suite...so there you go.

Here's the problem I have with this...how do you penalize a team for finding a way around the system? I mean, if this is the case, all you can do is say, going forward, this won't be allowed. But, everyone agreed and signed off on it, including the NHL, I'm assuming or else they wouldn't have been able to announce it, yes?

I have been very lucky in going to some pretty major games, so I'll do it by sport: Football: Bears NFC Champ game (close second, even though they lost, Payton's and Fencik's last game as a Bear) Hockey: Final Regular season and post-season game for the Blackhawks in the Stadium Basketball: EASILY the 1.8 second game. Baseball: Hmmm...I can't say there was one so exciting, but there was a time there where I saw most of Ozzie's home runs hit at home. Arena: First Chicago Bruisers game (yeah I'm old) and first Austin Wranglers game (they are no more) Soccer: 1980, Sting vs. Cosmos at Comiskey. Sting lose 1-0. College Football: Illinois-Michigan. I wanna say 1990. Illinois loses on a last minute TD. AGAIN.
