QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Dec 16, 2008 -> 01:46 PM) Hell no, uh, I mean false. The person below me has dreams about people he's never seen. How would I know if I've never seen them if I've never seem them. Or maybe I have seen them, but don't remember seeing them. Or maybe I haven't seen them, but believe I've seen them in another life. What was the question? Or right...True. The person below me thinks this thread should be pinned.

Anyone that leaves their stirrers/creamers/sugar packets lying around after they used them. Either throw them away, or take them back to your desk if you are going to use them later. And you should be drinking your coffee like a man! Black!

CanOfCorn replied to scenario's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
That's because Canadians are the nicest people on Earth!!! /only part green The 'Hawks were Keith Olbermann's "Best People in the World" a little while ago because of this story. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 15, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) Look at the records Bradford set at Ok and in the NCAA. McCoy has plenty of weapons, Texas pulls in a top talent recruiting class every year. As for the Ill schools. I dont think that the 1-AA (or whatver) should stop them from playing one of them a year. It lets the other schools in the state earn some money and help their athletic and educational programs. NIU should def be one they schedule every year. Illinois has been lately, but I think before that, they were trying to get more low level FBS schools, like Syracuse. McCoy lost most of his weapons. He is the spoon that stirs the pot. Here's the thing, the Heisman vote is flawed. Sometimes it's straight numbers...sometimes it's "leadership." JMHO but I think Oklahoma could've been 11-1 with another QB. I don't think Texas would without McCoy. But, as someone said earlier...the Heisman is more like an MOP than an MVP. Which is sad, because I think they need to figure that out. -

Here's the difference... Hot Rod was caught red-handed because he was directing the corruption first hand. Daley is smart enough to put a 2 to 3 levels of people between him and the corruption. Plus, the media LOOOOVES Daley (or scared of him, or both).

Official 2008-2009 College Football Thread

Two things...from a couple of pages back...Rock, the Illini have played other Illinois schools, they played EIU last year and SIU the year before, I believe. I think part of the problem is, besides NW and NIU, all of the other Illinois schools are I-AA and lower (scuse me, Football Championship Subdivision). And I believe that Ron Guenther likes to schedule more FBS schools. Also, the fact that NIU was good and UI was, well, not, it scared the crap outta them. Two, McCoy should've won. He is underrated, has some ok, but not great, WRs in Quan Cosby and Jordan Shipley...lost his running back...and they still go 11-1. Bradford had lots of weapons. Tebow had Harvin. Even Harrell, who should have been there and I think that's the biggest snub ever in Heisman history, had Crabtree. I would have voted: McCoy, Bradford, Harrell, Tebow. -

Happy B-day! Here's what I got ya...20 more posts (I thought you might need them) and a million dollars (for Obama's senate seat, I don't think it'll matter if you live in Indiana...I mean, c'mon, NW Indiana is basically Illinois without cigarette taxes anyway).

I know we have Nix/Lillibridge/Getz to battle for 2B...but I might take a flyer on Chris Burke. He can play the outfield as well as 2B and if you like grindy, this is the dude. I saw him play many games at AA and AAA Round Rock and the boy has baseball smarts. He's not fast, but he is a smart baserunner. He's not the best fielder, but he puts himself in good positions. He's not the best hitter, but he seems to be clutch at times. This team likes players that can play multiple positions, and Chris Burke can.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) I just purchased a 1976 conversion van with limo tints on the driver and passenger windows, a new puppy, and a 3lb bag of candy. Anyone have some pointers on where I should drive to test out my new van? You know who likes vans, puppies and candy? 4th graders! Find your nearest elementary school and park right across the street...don't want to get in the way of the teachers leaving from a long day of teaching. Have the back open and just sit there petting your puppy with candy strewn about. The kids will come a-runnin'!

Not a chance...like many on this board and White Sox prospects, I overvalue my post count. Then again, as Hot Rod has shown us, everyone has a price.

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 10:09 AM) General manager Ken Williams spent Wednesday watching television and conducting personnel meetings with White Sox staff members in his hotel suite. From this morning's Tribune. Don't get all feisty. It was just an observation. And considering all the goings on in Illinois...I'm not surprised. I'm sure it affects the Sox in some ways.

Official Recruiting Thread II
CanOfCorn replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 06:48 PM) Not that anyone on here cares about Tennessee football (or the SEC for that matter), but Lane Kiffin is already reinforcing his reputation as a great recruiter. Eric Gordon, a 4-star CB out of Nashville, committed to UT today after his previous leader was Alabama. UT was pretty much an afterthought for him until Kiffin was hired. After an in-home visit from Kiffin and Kiffin attending Gordon's state championship game, Gordon felt like he had such a good connection and feeling about UT that he committed. Didn't he give up his eligibility after his year of Indiana basketball? -
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) I do think this is a really good move for NBC. I actually don't mind it so much as a big Conan fan because I think he gets more of the people that are good on his show when he doesn't have to deal with the huge stars(which I never find as funny). This will save NBC huge money over a scripted drama, plus it will be a good fall back for people on nights where they don't have a show that they watch regularly. You are assuming that the bland, stale, white bread style of humor that Jay has dumbed his show down to will translate to those people. This is yucky.

Is it wrong to tell my fellow parishoners during Mass about my sexual escapades with my pet aardvark and my wife's sister? They seem to enjoy it, but I don't want things to get, y'know, weird.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) And we've only finished above 2nd place twice in those 8 seasons, whereas the Twins have 4 times. I think there is reason to have reasonable trust in KW, but he's nowhere near earned the status of complete trust under all circumstances. True...but we've been World Champions once and the Twins...not so much. Tigers...not so much. Indians...Royals...well, you get the point.
