Schultz gets the call, Antonacci up too!
Guessing hes getting called up. Just that they havent told him and have to decide who they take off the roster with still a game to play yet. Little different for a SP who has to prepare.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
You made up that number. Regardless, the answer to your question was already addressed. Mediocre players are a much better alternative than not having a single outfielder who would be on any other MLB team's roster. It was a salary dump. Still a bizarre reason for any fan to defend the move when we sit at the bottom of the league in payroll. There was otherwise no reason to move Robert just to move him.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
The Sox have currently 0 outfielders on their roster who would be even a 5th outfielder on basically any other MLB team. Trading him was not necessary. It was a dumb, bad trade. "Time to move on" yet no one can explain what that means or say as to why.

Shane Smith sent down. Update: Has rotator cuff strain.
Doesn't this put in line for a Schultz call-up? I think it would be 1 day past the service timeline should he start for Smith. No idea where hes at in terms of IP

4/7/26 Orioles @ White Sox 2:10 Chicago Time. Shane Smith SP
Ah didnt know that. Still, bases loaded with Alonso up, probably not a bigger situation in the game there. Still worked so whatever.

4/6 Gamethread, 0's at Pale hose 6:40 pm Taylor vs TBD.
No, assuming your best pitcher is a reliever, and especially a non-closer, you want that best pitcher to go against the best hitters. The opener guarantees that. Saving him later in the game does not. This is even more true when you have a closer pigeon holed for the 9th. This is who Taylor has gotten out as an opener: George Springer Jesus Sanchez Vlad Guerrero George Springer Davis Schneider Vlad Guerrero Gunnar Henderson Pete Alonso Adley Rutchsman To be able to shutdown some of the best players in MLB is such a massive advantage no matter when it happens. This way guarantees your best vs theirs
