PR just made a sacrifice bunt down the first base line to fatass Randall Simon of the Netherlands. Needless to say, it worked. Puerto Rico goes up 2 including a Cintron run.

Netherlands is trying to pull off the upset and has just tied it 3 to 3 in the sixth inning. With today's news, we have also added a third WBCer. Cintron is 0-2 with a K and 2 LOB. Mexico is up on S. Africa 2-0 in the 2nd. EDIT: Cintron just got his first hit.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) What channel is the Italy game on? On a sidenote, that 8th inning was a joke. Two major league hitters went swinging at garbage in between a pair of walks. Utley hammered that, what a nice catch. Still, USA better rebound against South Africa. Italy is on ESPN at 10:30 tonight I believe. And even if they do rebound against South Africa(Who sadly actually came closer to beating Canada than we did), do we still advance? I'm guessing it would be a three way tie.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 12:19 AM) What channel is this game? If its on dpeortes , do we get deportes on in chicago for Comcast? Not on TV 'til 10:30. (This is one reason the WBC should have been on a different time or a different TV station, to avoid conflicts with College Basketall in a month in which it traditionally dominates.)

How the hell can you lose to Canada? Nonethless, the WBC needed something like this to happen.

White Sox Acquire Infielder Alex Cintron
Just heard about this trade. So how'd we get Cintron and only give up a garbage arm in Baj?

Fun article about Seattle catcher Kenji Johjima
Awesome article. I liked his press conference the best: "How is everybody? How are you doing?" Johjima asked the assembled crowd. "Thank you for coming today. My name is Kenji Johjima, from Sasebo, Japan. I am very happy to sign with Mariners. I like Seattle city and Safeco Field. I love baseball. I want to succeed in the big leagues. Thank you."

Cubs' reliever Scott Williamson on trading block
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) Anybody think Soriano could be a replacement for Gooch? I know he strikes out a lot, but he has a lot of potential. He wants a 100 million dollar contract. Why not just keep Gooch?

I'm finaly going to get to a game!
No. Baseball is as kid friendly entertainment as you will find. Well, for the first time ever, good tickets are going to be hard to get for any game. Your best bet is stubhub.com or I'm sure a poster on here has some extra that he/she is willing to give up for you. The Bullpen bar would be my guess, although I'm defiantly not an expert on the topic. THE ROAST BEEF SANDWHICHES BY THE RIGHTFIELD FOUL POLE!!! You must get these. They are ridiculously good. The worst part about the months between October and April is not being able to order these. Chicago is known for it's pizza, so any thing like that will do. 1. Get Scorecards 2. Make a trip out to the outfield shower. A Comiskey Park classic. 3. The leftfield fan deck they put in last year is pretty cool. I'd check that out. 4. I strongly suggest getter lower deck seats. Much better than the upper deck, IMO. 5. Don't be afraid to quit watching the game for a few innings and take atleast 1 full circle around the park to get a full experience. It's not like other sports in which you have to stay in your seat the entire time. I've been to hundreds of Sox game, but I still make sure to do this everytime I go. Also, are you aiming at a specific date? If possible, go watch the Yankees play us. The other teams(KC, TB, DET) we have at home in August aren't particulary great. Minnesota wouldn't be a bad series to attend either.
