  1. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) Low risk, high reward. Love these signings. I know everyone SHOULD love these, but this is the White Sox here. Even if he does suck beyond belief, Ozzie and KW will still have him on the roster at one point and use him in at least 1 critical situation.
  2. If we got him, which we won't, that would mean the end of my other favorite Sox player, mr. Chris Widger.
  3. QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) To Willie who scored the winning run in game 4 of the WS. Although he disappointed, Singleton hasn't been doing much better I believe. Sure Willie didn't pan out, but we still won tha trade.
  4. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) doesn't look that bad, but no MVP. It's actually way better than MVP, since that doesn't exist anymore.
  5. QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 02:17 AM) Meanwhile, while proving Rowand44's point for him...
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 04:34 AM) So you want Timo Perez/Harris/Blum as our options off the bench and no macowiak Everett is our DH instead of Thome Konerko is an Angel because he has no protection. Everett is moved to RF and our OF defense is slower. Gload is the first baseman Marte is still in the pen. El Duque is pitching in the rotation. 2 or more DL spots for him Garland and the Count are in the last year of their contract. So if we lose both, Felix Diaz and Arnie Munoz are in the rotation the following year. Okay stop. I like the part where KW made changes, made the offense better, protected the core of the team which is the pitching for the next few years, and did this while getting rid of people that could be replaced. Owned.
  7. Before I read through 6 pages of this, the 1st post was a joke, right? RIGHT?
  8. QUOTE(timotime @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:58 AM) well at this point we would be essentially cleaning house after a world series championship. you want to do that? If it for the good, why not?
  9. QUOTE(timotime @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) see the playoffs this last season. lest we forget. Yes, let's just unnecessarily reward players for what they have done in the past. That will get us far.
  10. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) 1)Someone bring up the Zone Ratings and all that good stuff to measure up the defense. 2)Crede on the road this past year, .269. Blalock .231. Blalock only does good at home, just like Soriano and most of that Texas squad. Just like Soriano, take Blalock out of Texas and you got an overrated player. Crede doesn't even do good at home. He hit .235 at the Cell. :puke
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) .235 at home in 2005. Thank you. I was off, but its still pretty piss poor.
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) Carlos Lee went a full season without one. In the outfield...
  13. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) Yes, look at those numbers considering Blalock has batted 3rd/4th in each of those 3 seasons while Joe has been put in the #9 slot. Just some info on baseball, in the #9 slot, you're less likely to get more RBI's than the guy in the 3-4-5 spots. In fact, has there ever been a #9 hitter who has had more RBI's than a #3-4-5?? Also, Blalock's protection is Texieria and Soriano. Crede's protection is Podsednik and Uribe. Which explains the RBI's, but Blalock still puts a hurt on the ball. I could argue his away stats all day with you, but bottom line is that he is better on the road then Crede is at home. What did Crede hit at the Cell last year, like .220 something?
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) Blalock might be overated overall but on this site he is way underated and Crede is way overated it seems.... You hit that on the head.
  15. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) Could you please bring up a comparison of what Blalock did on the road with what Crede did on the road? Thanks. No problem night. Each has played 3 full seasons now. Blalock has more RBI's, more HR's, more doubles, more walks, and more runs scored.
  16. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) I don't like this trade at all. We don't need to totally overhaul the team. Wilkerson sucks. Dude hit 32 hr's in 04 but only 11 last year. Blalock would be an upgrade offensively over Crede, but a downgrade defensively. A major prospect? Jesus! Why do we have to rape our farm system? According to the 1st post, we would be getting the prospect.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) Anyone know Blalock's contract situation? 2005: $800,000 2006: $3,000,000 2007: $4,750,000 2008: $5,950,000 2009: free agent
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) Joe Crede also had a higher OPS last year. Hank Blalock also has a higher average, higher on base percentage, double the walks, 30 more RBI, more hits, more AB's, more doubles, more home runs, more runs, and more total bases. Should I go on?
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) Blalock is icky. So is Joe Crede...
