White Sox vs Iowa 6.19 Official Game Thread

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 03:09 AM) I just explained what it had to do with Jake. You know very well of the posts Im talking about. I think Jake brings the focus on him simply due to his support for soxtalk's two least favorite players in Hudson and Stewart. Jake's a good poster though who's brought a ton to the game threads this year, and I hope he doesn't take any of this personally. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 02:58 AM) Deep breaths, Fathom, deep breaths. PK could have prevented those runs just as easily, and yet you're not bagging on him tonight. I think you and I are the only ones who've called out Konerko for his mediocre effort since he returned from the wrist injury Hudson has to go though, he literally brings nothing positive to the table and hurts the team with his bad defense. Give me Escobar over there if it means at least good defense will be played. -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 02:57 AM) He deserves to pitch for a team that will appreciate him. Dodgers or Braves at the deadline if this slump continues. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 02:54 AM) You guys can jump up and down and scream tonight all you want...but the fact that there is no better solution is not changing. Give me Youkilis over Hudson. I can't recall the last time I saw someone who's defense cost the team so much. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 03:53 AM) I would be happy if he got DFA tonight. He single handedly lost that game tonight. 3rd game in 3 weeks his defense has cost the Sox the game. It's ridiculous to me that some posters think he plays a decent 3rd base. -

Well, now people can't use the excuse that you "don't break up a first place team" for why changes shouldn't be made. -

What a terrible player. I'm sure the usual few on here will stick up for him. -

Anyone still rather have Nestor Molina than Travis Wood? Kenny's inability to get a true 3rd baseman continues to haunt this team. -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 01:03 AM) Sox need to smoke the soft tosser Wood! He throws pretty hard, not a soft tosser like Buehrle -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 12:44 AM) Det up 4-0 already in 2nd. Lynn found out pitcher does not hit in AL parks. Austin Jackson has turned into a star -
Tigers having no problems beat up on Cy Lynn

MLB Network quoting Sports Illustrated that Joey Votto has never pulled a ball foul into the stands during his entire MLB career. And just like a few years ago, he hasn't had an infield pop up all year.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 05:46 AM) I'm with you, felt the same way since I saw him playing in HS. Hardly even stood out back then I still remember watching the "Barnes/Richmond" match-up on an ESPN channel and thinking that McDermott was the best player on the court.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 04:43 AM) I would agree. With this team still looking .500 at best cause of our inability to win at home, might as well hold him out to be safe. I do believe he's done for the year. Sounds scary to put him back out there for a long period of time. You worry far too much about home/road record. The Royals are 11-20 at home this year, yet you seem very worried they're going to finish better than the White Sox.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 05:43 AM) Bruney could have started against the Cubs today and Soxtalk would have been far happier Good luck having an ERA below 2 in AAA, Mr. Stewart. It will be interesting to see how well he does once he gets demoted. They should send him down with the thought process that he won't get promoted again this year and to work on becoming a starter.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 05:39 AM) 4th best player?? Really?? I dont think your 4th best player leads the team in scoring and is 3rd in rebounding. It's all about UNC's style of play. Kendall Marshall was an incredible pg last year, and Zeller was one of the best post player in the country. However, that team needed Henson's defense to anchor their fast break style. Barnes was just a gunner for them, and never once last year did I watch him and think "this guy is going to be a star in the NBA"

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 05:33 AM) Zach Stewart continues to be worse than worthless. 6 homers allowed in 6.2 innings against the Cubs this year -
QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 05:32 AM) i dont have to say the Tigers are the favorites. They arent playing well at all. No one is right now in the Al Central. 7-3 since Austin Jackson returned, but it's been against some crappy teams. They have a 10 game road trip coming up at Pit, Texas and Tampa. Hopefully they don't win more than 4 on that trip.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 05:30 AM) On the bright side, it could be looked at as a mid-season acquisition if the team remains in contention by the time he returns. :shrugs: This news actually made me feel much better about Danks and his future if it was causing him issues all year. The thought of having a healthy, effective Danks to go along with Sale and Quintana as 3 of our 5 starters next year is a much better scenario than what could have been projected for the future a few months ago.
-
Heath is just destroying righties this year. I imagine he'll be promoted in the next few months.
-
Harrison Barnes is so darn soft. I can't believe some of the posts I've seen basically asking to tear down the roster just to acquire him. He was the 4th best player on UNC last season, and was a massive disappointment for a majority of his college career.

QUOTE (bobryansson @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 04:14 AM) Some shoulder pathology shows better/best/only on MRI with contrast. Yep, that article shows they used the dye to highlight trouble areas.
-
QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 04:11 AM) Maybe Nestor Molina will start to tear up Triple A. After all, the guy had 148 strikeouts against 16 walks last year. He's in AA, and it sounds like KW was praising Simon Castro today. I keep seeing people talk about Axelrod and others, but it seems like a lock the rotation is now Peavy, Floyd, Sale, Humber, Quintana with Axelrod next in line.

Some comforting comments in this article. You wonder if this was a factor all season in his decreased velocity http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,2101041.story
