QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) Ozzie lost faith in him once he loaded the bases with no outs in Boston. Holy s***, his faith in Damaso was gone way before then.

QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) Oops, my bad. I totally forgot. In any event, I personally wouldn't have given up on Marte. The problem is, Ozzie and the fans did long ago.

QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) I'm not sure I get the trade. I know Marte struggled, but you can never have enough hard-throwing lefties. On the other hand, we already have three utility guys (Ozuna, Harris and Blum). What did we gain? Blum is on the Padres and Willie may not be longed for this team.

QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) Just in case anyone on the Sox brass pays any attention to this board... yes, I DEFINITELY would buy a Tejada jersey should the opportunity to purchase one in black and white become available... Say goodbye to Garland + McCarthy amongst others . . . oh wait, the Orioles don't like pitching.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) Explain to me how he is overrated? Good hitter, Great fielder. Blalock had a .749 OPS last year, Crede had a .756.

White Sox select three in Rule 5 Draft

I was worried I'd never see Tim Hummel again. That Scott Sullivan deal is looking better and better every day. -
QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Is the original post ever going to be updated? It's Qwerty, what do you expect?

QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) Where are the widger fans?!?!? I've had the Widge in my profile for a while now. It's gotta be the facial hair.

Has anyone else noticed the complete lack of Bears pics that Sportsline is dishing out. They had a total of 1 pic from the Bears-Packer game.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) At the beginning he was a butcher there, towards the end of the year he played pretty damn solid at 3rd. He played much better at SS than he did at 3B. He played ok at 3B near the end of the year but that mainly due to him making a couple exceptional plays.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) Please correct me if I'm wrong...but didn't Pablo fill in at 3rd for some games this past year?!? I know he's no Crede with the glove over there...but I like him in the order when he fills in. Interesting to hear Willie declined to play winter ball. Maybe it had more to do with his personal situation and family than just not wanting to play. Pablo is an absolute butcher at 3B.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) Wow. Have we ever agreed before? This could very well be the first time.

Yes, get me Mike Myers and it's perfect.

Hi random.

Basden's D is f***ing sick. He really showed something tonight.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) May I ask, why? It's not really a personal vendetta, I just don't think he's going to be successful for very long in this league. I've never liked his pitching style and I feel in the long run that McCarthy will be the better player. If you stick Willis in the Cell next year I think his ERA is in the low 4's for the season.
-
QUOTE(heirdog @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Agree completely. Anyone that wouldn't trade BMac straight up for Willis is 1) related to BMac; 2) has a personal vendetta against Willis; 3) sippin' too much White Sox Kool-Aid. Give me Willis in this rotation and get the champagne chilled for another celebration in '06. Also, don't worry about restocking our lefties in the minors as we have great young lefties already at the majors with Buerhle, Willis, and Cotts. Just let Broadway develop and eventually take over for Contreras. There we go.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) For the record the guy had a 2.91 era in the 2nd half last year. In the past he's had trouble in the 2nd half of the season, that was not the case this year. He's prone to having s*** second halves, last year was different but that does not change his prone status.
-
Let's just say, if there's one SP out there that everyone seems to love, that I am not high on at all, it's Dontrelle Willis. I'm just not a fan.
-
Willis for BMac? no, f*** that. I personally like McCarthy more than Willis who is extremely prone to having bad second halves of the season. McCarthy is further away from free agency and will be cheaper, longer.

QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Uribe at second? wtf? Uribe will bat 2nd in the order.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) I watched AD a few times and it just never clicked for me. Now, Blue Collar TV, on the other hand...... You have to watch the show from the beginning or you're going to be somewhat lost with the show. There's a lot of inside jokes that carry over from show to show and season to season. Like Jason Bateman yesterday yelling out "C'mon!". Most people aren't going to get that unless they've been watching the show for a while.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Several things come to mind.. 1. He is locked up for the next 3-4 years..With Jose a FA next year. We would at least know that we have 4 pitchers for 07 barring injuries. 2. Was last year a fluke for Garland, or did he turn the corner? I want to beilve that he turned the Corner..But, I still have about 25% doubt. Becuase my boss came in I forgot the others. Vazquez is signed through the '07 season. That's 2 years not 3-4.
