JOE.CREDE. = Twinkie
I lost track of Crede's situation. I know he had flare ups after surgery, what's he done since to get his back healthy again?

Sign of the times: Called Sprint to tell them I might be switching providers, they immediately bent over and tossed in all kinds of free s*** in order to keep me. I'm not on contract which put me in the driver's seat. The desperation in the guy's voice was telling of the state of the economy.

You know what I hate?
When people use the words 'basically' and 'actually' too often. "Tell us a little bit about yourself" "Well, basically my name is Bob and I actually went to school at SC, then basically moved around in the So Cal area and actually decided to settle down in L.A."

Just got back from watching 'Doubt' and I think it's over rated. Streep is solid and the film overall is good. The woman who plays the boy's Mom completely stole the show in the 10 minutes that she's on screen. She is brilliant.

Dayán Viciedo BP Session
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 05:15 PM) He looked good I guess? Most minor league players can look good taking measly BP. Sure, he some line drives as you could see from the reverse angle, but go by some high school playing fields and guys are raking. I won't be ready to make any judgment about his readiness for the Majors until I see him live in ST against real pitchers. I am sure Borchard put on quite the show during BP and look where it got him. Amen.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 02:51 AM) So I got belligerently drunk and it happened in front of the girl I've been crushing on for months. Completely embarrassed myself. Like, completely. I hate myself. Really, I hate myself. Only good part is that I don't remember a second of it, but still. That's the good part??!! The worst part about this is, if you have friends like mine, they will make up all kinds of crazy s*** that you supposedly did...and you won't know what's true or what's BS.

Picture of Michael Phelps smoking bong surfaces
A few thoughts: Smoking pot doesn't mean he's a stupid person, but doing it at a party with other people around was poor judgment. From what I hear, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so it's not too surprising. Also, as a former pot smoker, I never met anyone who was a casual smoker and took bong hits. If you're doing bong hits, you're not a novice. Last, Kellogs dropped him as a sponsor. The company that sells what is basically sugar in a box and passes it off as cereal. Oh, the irony.

The Workout Thread
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 26, 2009 -> 10:24 PM) Anyone know much about NO2 as a supplement? I have 2 friends who take it and they're trying to convince me to as well, but I can't find any real info on the stuff since most of the sites talking about it are trying to sell it, so of course they're going to make it sound awesome. It's supposed to give you a better 'pump' during your workouts. I'm not sure how that's supposed to result in permanent, long term gains though. You'll find both extremes of opinions, try it for yourself. I tried it and it did nothing for me except make me kinda queasy, it felt like a stimulant, no different than having 4 cups of coffee.

Valentine's Day
Be more involved. Go to a flower shop in person and describe what you want. I don't know anything about flowers, so I'd always go with their favorite color and ask them to work around that. Another tip is to tell them that you want the bouquet to look full. In other words, more flowers that are less expensive instead of a few really expensive ones. I'm not sure why florists always want to give you four really expensive flowers and call it a bouquet.

You know what I hate?
The guy I call 'The All American'. You know the guy who has has zero knowledge about anything beyond the US borders, yet automatically assumes it's all bad. He assumes he'll be killed if he crosses into Mexico, he assumes the meat in Chinese food is dog, he assumes he'll get food poisoning from curry, etc. It's particularly annoying when it's a young person. It's like dude, where the phuck did you come from?

So about a month ago I went to the dermatologist to have two moles removed because they'd been getting bigger and bigger in the past few years. They basically numb the area and slice that chunk of flesh out with a knife. They did a biopsy on them and luckily they are not cancerous. Here's where it gets weird. One of them has healed nicely, the other one has grown back. Same size, same shape, same texture and almost the same color as before. In about two weeks it will look exactly like it did before I had it removed. Should I be concerned??

Juan Uribe signs with SF
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 05:20 PM) Juan Uribe had a better White Sox career than Joe Crede. I'll take a healthy Joe Crede over Juanito any day, on offense and defense.

Juan Uribe signs with SF
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 03:30 PM) Juan speaks english, just not very well and he gave more than his fair share of post game interviews and even attempted to talk with some of the local sports radio shows from time to time. He has a very high pitched voice for a man his size. what did you learn about his attitude?

Juan Uribe signs with SF
GMAB, how do we know what the hell Uribe's attitude was? The guy didn't speak English and rarely gave interviews.
