QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) OMG yes to anything that brings that sexy sonuvab**** back here. I want the Pornstache back. I second that. Wasn't he the original 'frosty tips' guy in MLB and not A-Rod? Then Maggs joined in on the fun.

What a difference a few years makes. Remember when he was THE free agent?

Watched 'Before The Devil Knows You're Dead' last night. Solid performances and is it possible that Marisa Tomei just gets hotter and hotter as she gets older? Phillip Seymour Hoffman is good as usual, but Ethan Hawke, not so much. I've never really been a fan of his. Isn't he supposed to be a master thespian/trained in theater/Shakespeare loving/high brow acting snob? I can't tell.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 09:52 AM) I love misheard lyrics. The bathroom's on the right . . . I am king of screwing up lyrics. I bet half the lyrics I think I know are wrong.

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 11:39 PM) Old guy music. Nice. I bought "The Essential Bruce Springsteen" a few weeks ago and was stunned to learn that he did the original version of "Blinded by the Light" - the Manfred Mann (sp?) song. I can't stop listening to Bruce's version. I had no idea. Never been too crazy about the Manfred Mann version, either. Oh you mean the 'wrapped up like a douche' song.

Could a team of you and your friends

I think it depends on which 5 pros you'd be playing against. Does anyone remember the IIT summer basketball tournament? It was basically pick up games which included the top local HS, College and pro players. Brad Sellers (remember his soft, sorry ass?) got dunked on, not once but twice by two different HS kids in one game. I also saw a HS kid block one of Jordan's lay ups and I mean cleanly pinned it to the glass. So, I tend to think it's possible. -
How about when there are only like 3 people at the movie theater, but the next guy that comes in the door decides to sit RIGHT in front of you? When this happens, we get up and move to the seats right in front of that guy. Or on an almost empty train and the guy gets on and sits right next to you.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 05:18 PM) How about the guy standing at the urinal next to you who is uncomfortably too far away from his urinal. And I'm not kidding about this one....have seen it a couple times in my lifetime, the guy who pulls his pants and underwear down to his ankles at the urinal. And I'm not talking about a kid. If I ever see that, I'll be in the right place cuz otherwise I'd piss my pants from laughing.

I was at a fucntion last night where Magic Johnson was the surprise speaker. Prety cool. He's looking extremely puffy these days, perhaps as a side effect of 10 years of meds. Still extremely charismatic and his giant smile lights up a room.

Name Change? Anything else needed?

I don't remember who set up my "Grinder rule # 41" with Jimmy on it, but I need help with a new one for next season. Please pm me if you can help. Thx! -
If I wanted to send something in writing to a Sox player, what's the best chance of actually getting it into their hands? I imagine they get tons of fan mail and it has to pass through a security proceess, so they probably never even receive most of it. Anyone ever written a player and heard back from them?

A woman backed into my car with her car recently, got out of her car, never really spoke to me, looked at the back of HER car, said "Ok, Ok everyhting is Ok yeah, yeah" and kinda gave me that dismissive 'go away' gesture with her hand. The whole time she never missed a beat on her cell phone conversation. All of us at the gas station where it happened stood there in stunned silence as she drove off. Had she been a man, I probably woulda dragged him otta the car and stomped on his lungs.

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 12:52 PM) what about the Loud grunter who has to let everyone in the entire gym know that he is stronger and buffer than you for every single rep he does That's usually the same guy who has way too much weight on the bar and his spotter needs a spotter.

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 10:38 AM) I'd be worried about Tejada with the Mitchell report coming out, and possible suspensions that could come from it. What does that have to do with Tejada? He only won the HR derby at the ASG a few years ago and has slowly seen his power decline since? What's so suspicious?

QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 09:41 AM) You could start a whole new thread on gym pet peevs. Anyone else get naked guys stretching in the sauna? Nope, but I get naked guy flat on his back with arms and legs all streched out in the sauna. How about stink bomb? The guy you can smell halfway across the gym.

where's the none of the above choice?

We watched this tonight: http://www.apple.com/trailers/mgm/larsandt...algirl/trailer/ Ambitious film, but it never really took that turn to make it's point in any big way.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 07:14 PM) People who go to the gym and talk on their cell phones. Ah yes, the gym, here we go: People who work out in jeans. People who wear sunglasses while working out. Couples that hug and kiss while they work out together. People who read while on the treadmill or stationary bike. If you have enough focus and concentration to retain anything you're reading, then you're not working out hard enough. Go home and free up the treadmill for someone who is ready to work hard. Guys that 'super set' on 4 different stations at once. Guys that shave in the nude at the gym. I don't shave in the nude at home, why the f*** would I do it at the gym??

How about when they don't reply and then show up anyway with that 'pfft, c'mon you knew I'd be here' attitutde.

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 08:26 AM) Agree completely. I loved "The Departed"... when Leo got shot. Jack wasn't anything special in it either. I thought Damon's accent was the best played to be honest. I think Damon might be the only actor in that film who is from the Boston area.....oh wait Marky Mark is also, no?
-
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 4, 2007 -> 04:51 PM) I dont even know who directed Departed and I loved the movie, and Im pretty hard on movies in general. I think you guys just saw Titanic and refuse to giveLeonardo Dicaparo or however you spell it a chance... he was also great in Blood Diamond. I bet DiCrapio is a good guy, he's involved in some good causes and he's a good actor.. in the proper role. As soon as I see him holding a gun or throwing punches though......

Overrated, How does a player get that label?
